I got into a little back and forth disagreement with my dentist on Saturday.  He asked me if I'd noticed all the mesquite trees blooming and described the flowers.  I told him that wasn't mesquite blooming, it's huisache trees.  He insisted it was mesquite and I insisted it was huisache.  I let it drop since he was so sure but I think he's better at dentistry than tree identification.  lol

Jackie, you were wise to let it go.  Never argue with a person who has the tools to drill your teeth.

I'm more the type who says never argue with the person who is paying you. lol  I took a picture of a huisache in full bloom and will show him on Saturday.  Devil

crap - MASSIVE thunderstorm going on - house rattling booms. So far B has been distract-able with a kong - not sure how long that is going to last

Marty sending my best for little Allie! Hoping that surgery and recovery goes smooth and swift for her - poor baby Sad

Good thots, healing vibes and prayers for Allie.

Have started the ball rolling with the insurance company to get my poor crinkled car fixed......sigh.

Good thoughts and prayers for Allie's surgery tomorrow.

Jackie - I'm assuming you don't have any pending dental work? Wink

Cold this morning but at least the sun is out. The rest of the week looks iffy and then rain is forecast for the weekend Crying. I always figure that things can change a lot in 5-6 days, so I'm hoping they're wrong on this one.

It's good to be back at work and just out of the house. I haven't been to the gym since last Monday but I'm going today, no matter how funky I feel.

Tina - thank you for the nice card. We also got one from the surgeon and the vet who helped us the last night, plus one from Sassy's regular vet. Each of them took the time to write something personal and sweet and it was much appreciated.

Zoe is massively thunder-phobic and I'm terrified we'll get a storm while I'm at work.  She will go out of her gourd, and Gracie is *just* starting to become less phobic.  (As I mentioned last week, she was fine for all of her life until one very bad/scary storm while we were camping in a narrow river valley)

I meant to say earlier - good luck to Allie!

Best wishes for your grandaughters surgery marty!

Glenda, can I nag you into doing my gardening? ;) (ducks)

I apologize ahead of time to anyone not getting this great weather but, omg wohhhooo yipee does cartwheels yay!!! 80 degrees today and all sun! 80s for the next 2 days too! Freaking loving it.

Ok time to eat lunch, which is a personal pizza from mancinos. Yum

he was fine until those tornadoes that missed us by a whisker last April. He seemed to be a little better in the Fall and really wasn't too bad today considered the rumbling. The noise isn't a problem its the lightning

Jackie, not only do I admire your bravery at arguing with a person aiming sharp tools at your mouth, I'm impressed that you were able to state your position in the first place.  I can barely say one syllable words when I'm having dental work,  nevermind pronounce something like "huisache!"  Stick out tongue

Marty, sending good surgery vibes to Allie.  DH's niece had several orthopedic surgeries as a child, and I remember how proudly she showed off her casts -- they were always hot pink, flourescent orange, bright purple (and lightweight fiberglass, too).  So much more fun for a child than the ugly, heavy plaster ones from when I was a kid.

I feel like a broken record, but I'm so jealous of all the awesome weather eveyone's having.  I talked to my Mom yesterday (in CT), and she was sitting on her patio, drinking wine with her friend, enjoying the sun.  We woke to snow flurries this morning, 37 degrees and grey.  There's some brightness out there now, but barely visible through the clouds.  The backyard is so soggy and muddy -- makes for very dirty dog paws!

Tracy, in my son's words..."God help the Doctor if he doesn't put on a pink cast!"

About 10 years ago, I broke my ankle, and the Doc asked me if I wanted neon pink or green..."Ummm, don't you have plain old white?"

    "NO"

So he changed his mind and said a navy boot should do it!

    Good Luck Allie!

I was up at 5 am to workout this morning.  We'll see how long I can keep this up for.  5 am and I aren't exactly the best of friends Stick out tongue, but it's the only time I can workout during the week - that doesn't interfere with a walk with Ari, making dinner and the other stuff I need to get done!

Good vibes for Allie!   We just had our first round of thunder storms roll in and out of NWA.  They say it will be this way for the next 4 days.  LOL, I hope I have enough "Thunder" pills for Hot :)

I have been out of pocket.  Grandpa's Memorial was Friday.  It was wonderful.  They sent a full Air Force Honor Guard from Tinker AF Base.  I know he was watching and he was very proud :)

We had a great weekend, good weather allowed me to play in the dirt and it felt great!  Glenda by all means go play in the dirt to your hearts content.

    Gotta run....short handed today :)

Marty, your son's comment is too funny!

Your story about wanting a plain white cast reminded me of when I went to an orthodontist a few years ago.  I had braces as a teen, but my teeth had shifted and I wanted to replace my retainer to wear at night.  I expected the usual flesh-colored thing.  Well, the assistant gave me a whole BOOK of designs to choose from, including glow in the dark colors, sparkles and glitters, flowers, logos of sports teams, etc.  I was tempted to go with glow in the dark, but my fuddy-duddy side went with simple red tulips instead.  I actually still regret not choosing the Patriots logo!

Good luck for your granddaughter, Marty. My nephew had club feet. He did the shoes on the bar thing and had surgery on his achilles. He's 2.5 now and the pediatric orthopedic doc says his ankles are perfect now.

We've had amazing weather lately. 70s for March is very rare. We're supposed to get lowering temps and thunderstorms throughout the week though.

DH & the kids left late this morning and came home with a beautiful bouquet of daises, cupcakes, a card that plays music (annoying but the kids love it. lol), and a freshly washed van. I had asked for an immersion blender for my birthday, but apparently it hasn't shipped yet. Big Smile

After nap time we'll go to the Y, then my mom is making me breakfast for dinner. YUM!!

I've only been working out for just over a month, and I'm surprised at how far I've come. Of course I still have a long ways to go (especially the butt and thighs area - oh my) but I'm glad that I'm seeing progress.

LOL, he had no weapons in hand, er I mean dental tools, when we were discussing the trees.  My dental hygienist talks a lot and asks questions. It's hard for me to only grunt in reply when I really want to expound. lol   She's a sweetie and volunteeers at a homeless shelter.  She told me that she's cleaned the teeth of people who have never had their teeth cleaned their entire lives (some are in their 50's and 60's).  She said it's very rewarding to see them smile afterwards. Big Smile She's going to  Haiti in April with a volunteer dental team.  Nice gal. :)

ETA:  Happy Birthday, Jan!!!  Doggies all send lots of kisses and tail wags.  Cake

Tick season has started here. With a mild (almost nonexistent) winter, we should have a good crop. Piper got her spring hair cut so she doesn't absorb too much mud. Makes it easy to feel the ticks after a run at the WMA. I got one before it had a chance to dig in.

Think were ready for MIL to spend a few weeks now. Put in a new shower head with a 6ft hand held extension, then got to root out the drain line-a large gob of long hair. I use the stall in the basement, so I don't see the problems in the main floor tub. Be nice to be told about standing water once in a while. Anyways, were ready. I won't be seeing the large flat screen TV though. I told my wife we could mount it to the wall, then when MIL moves to her own apartment, we could just get our own. It was worth a try.

Hot and windy, felt like rain in the air this morning. Grass is greening up. The world is so much nicer in full color, instead of black and white.
