    Happy Thursday chatter

    Good morning all!

I didn't even manage a full glass of wine last night!  But, I have a plan and an alternate plan for my kiosk so I'm good to go.  I've figured out two alternatives to maintain my privacy seating in the front (and some cold protection for me!) and also make a second desk available without compromising the structure too much.  Yep, I'll have to basterdize it a bit, but, it will be fully functional, as Corporate wants, as a two desk kiosk, and still give clients privacy.  Either way I go, we'll be more cramped inside, but I only really will need a second person in the kiosk until about Valentines Day when things slow down from the first peak, and then maybe a few weeks towards the end of tax season.  Walking away last night, and telling the floor plan dude that I'd fix it today, was the best thing I could have done.  Gave me time away from the problem to clear the old brain and figure out a plan and a back up.  And hopefully NEXT year, we'll be able to utilize the entire kiosk as it was designed.

It was really wierd because the floor plan dude was arguing about where we'd been last year and how much space we'd taken up and one of the assistant managers put him right in his place.  The floor plan dude was also trying to tell my boss that it was foolish to take up so much space because the kiosk is hardly ever open.  The boss, very non-confrontational guy, told him in no uncertain terms that he must be thinking of the FIRST year, because we posted hours and worked them and more LAST year.  Everyone at Wally World is incredibly nice and happy to have us back, except for this one major jerk.  I really felt like slapping him silly.

So, I have the design issue resolved in my poor weary brain, and think that I can make things work to everyones satisfaction.  The phone did not ring this morning so I wasn't up before my normal 5:30, Todd's boss threw him out of the office yesterday late afternoon....told him to take one of the station vehicles and just GO HOME....that he'd been there too many hours already!  I just love that both of us have such good bosses.  TODAY IS GOING TO BE A GOOD AND PRODUCTIVE DAY WITHOUT A LOT OF HASSLES!!!

How's that for a positive frame of mind??

Hope everyone ELSE has a good and productive day without any hassles!

Man, this work stuff is really kicking my butt.  I'm not used to making it through the day without my 2:30 nap with my beagle buddy.

We're not too busy at work but I'm busy with things I've let slide.  I'm having a hard time getting motivated each day and the days are just dragging.

It doesn't help that the weather is so beautiful that I just want to be outside enjoying it.  I saw a large group of wild turkeys on the way home from work yesterday.  I did a u turn and tried to get a picture but by the time I got close enough they spooked and went back in the brush and trees.

it is broken nail season here - every year in winter my nails chip really easy. I use tons of lotion but nothing helps

in the same vein I need to find something for the bags under my eyes LOL - another area I have tried different creams but nothing seems to help

not as cold today, still lovely blue skies

I have been trying to make headway on a list of 'stuff' I need to do but every time I scratch one thing off I add two or more Tongue Tied so instead of getting shorter its getting longer LOL

    I need more coffee stat!

Motivation at work has been more difficult since my wife retired. Also, I don't seem to enjoy working outside in freezing weather with plumbing problems much any more.

Turkeys in MN are everywhere. I was driving cross county, came through an S curve and almost hit a young female that had just dropped an egg on the asphalt. It was a little confused. I did manage to miss it.

Some domestic turkeys look just like wild birds, and the MN DNR really wants to avoid cross breeding. The progeny are not really bright enough to survive-you can back them into a corner and throw a towel or coat over them. DNR wants them eliminated, and would rather shoot them than capture and move. This winter, being open and mild, should really help bird survival.

I was recently reading that in many Eastern states where wild turkeys were hunted to near extinction domestic turkeys were introduced to try and build the population back up.  Big fail due to the domestic turkeys inability to survive in the wild.  After that failure they used imported wild turkeys and they have done well and populations have increased dramatically in the last 40 years.  Texas has more wild turkeys than any state followed by Missouri.

We got a really nice card from Dr DiMeo, the vet, with an insert that had Triplet's pawprint on one side and his fur on the other.  I wish I had a magic wand. . .

You have no idea how many people I've inundated with turkey trivia lately.  Many of them seem to fall asleep as I'm relating this fascinating info. Surprise

Lori, that was so nice of your vet.

It's DH's and I 11th anniversary today.  We aren't doing much today, but are going out to dinner ALONE tomorrow which will be nice.

OMG I had the hardest time sleeping last night.  Partly at first because when I went to lay down with Riley at her bed time I totally passed out for 1/2 hour.  When that happens my body thinks it slept a whole night and then I get wide awake.  So, here I am wide awake and I start watching this missing person's show with Emily Halloway (Natalie Halloway's - lost in Aruba - mom).  Anyway, the story was about this young girl that went missing back in 1991 when she was on a cruise with her parents and brother to the Carribean (Amy Bradley is her name).

Long story short, they think she's still there being held as a sex etc. against her will, etc. It bothered me so much.  To think this girl has been missing all this time and #1 her family doesn't know what happened and #2 the thought of her being used against her will all this time.  It really freaked me out and made me sad.  She's the same age as me and I think about everything she missed and the horrific life she's had.

So after that bit of cheer ...
