Thursday, semi-mindless thoughts

I've been sick all week.  I was able to take Tuesday and this morning off; however, I have conference calls and a meeting this afternoon, but at least I can do them from home.

Almost done Christmas shopping.  Finished Riley up this morning and all that is left is a few things for DH, a food basket I make for his grandma, and a couple of gift cards for the nieces - all of which can be done in a couple of hours.

I was able to score free overnight shipping on DH's watch which is HUGE.  I hate paying for shipping, which is why I usually buy from Amazon, but his watch wasn't on there.  I also managed to get my mom's photobook from Shutterfly done ahead of time this year.

Man my sister and her DH are going through some weird stuff (thanks for the vibes last night).  HUGE mess created basically by his idiot brother but now my BIL may be in a serious criminal mess.  He's so stubborn and doesn't want to get a lawyer, so my sister is freaking out.  She's trying to get it through his thick head that he will be risking everything to make a point.  Ow!  She's having a party this weekend for my niece and her in-laws will be there so this should be interesting.  DH says he can't wait to sit on the couch and watch the show.  LOL  Frankly her in-laws are coo coo for cocoa puffs and I hate being around them.

I did get my secret santa present out last night (FINALLY).  Long story which  I will tell once it is received.

Yesterday, I drive 30 mins. to the Dr.'s to get my Rx's refilled.  They call me up and I realized that I left my wallet at home and didn't have the copay or credit card with me.  Drive 30 mins. home, drive 30 mins. back to Dr., drive 30 mins. home.  I really hate when I do stupid things like that.

Then I went to Bed, Bath & Beyond which was INCREDIBLY busy on a Wednesday at 11 am., AND didn't have anything I was looking for.

My commute this morning which normally takes 17 minutes took 1 1/2 hours due to two accidents.

I will be starting very, very, very early today.

How's GabbyG today???

I heard about that stuff on the radio yesterday (and the kid I saw in the morning, his babysitter was about 45 minutes late). I was lucky not to get caught in it. 

Today there's nothing going on here in the morning. Maybe I'll go over to the Farmer's Market to grab something for lunch, or maybe I won't. I was thinking of taking Luke out somewhere, but I put Front Line on him, so I don't want to take him and tell people not to pet him. I should have thought of that before I did it maybe, and done it at night. 

 Wound up having a few pints of beer at a favorite place last night and then made DH a steak and mashed potato birthday meal. He seemed pleased with that.

Deb I went to Marshall's the other day looking for something and only found a candle that would look nice in a display, they had a woman telling people which register to go to (in case you don't hear the digital "register #3 is now open" I presume) and she looked at me and said is that all you found today?  Um yea and this was a stretch. I haven't seen anything in the stores this year, well other than people mindlessly buying anything and everything

I am pleased to announce I am getting my hair cut today - it is WAY overdue

I am running a group tonight. I normally enjoy this but have been battling sinus issues for a week and am totally not looking forward to being out late.

Bugsy is due for his annual and I am still undecided about vet's. I know I should move him from the practice we've always used - but it is SOOOO easy to take him there, and I wasn't thrilled with the other vet so now what?? Oye. i think he needs his thyroid checked so I need to get this done.

Vibes for GabbyG to keep things moving - I suppose it will take at least 24 hrs to see anything.

Woke up to the sound of rain this morning. This is the first rain we've had this month and I know the ski resorts are thrilled. I'm just glad that I took today off to do some baking. Based on the news, it sounds like a really messy commute this morning.

I had a lot of visitors in my office every day this week and although it was fun to see everyone, I didn't get much done. I'll have to bust my rear to get caught up tomorrow.

I hope GabbyG is doing good this morning.

Busy day of clients ahead. Everyone's getting last sessions in before the holidays.

My board/train client emailed me this morning with a wonderful email, that everything was going awesome and that she notices a huge difference in her dog (issues was a very noticeable one). Nice reinforcement for me! Makes me happy to have helped them through their problems.

I feel weird as I have no more Christmas shopping to do, but I feel like I should be. The downfall of getting it all done early this year. I sit thinking I should be wrapping, or shopping, or _______.  Maybe on to baking next I guess. But it's a bit early for that!

Thinking of GabbyG and hoping all goes well with that darned leash!

I can send you my list :-)  I figure I have 9 shopping days left, right? My (er, I should say Sinbad's) Christmas cards should arrive today so I can get them out by Saturday.

Not much else here. Totally busy with the end-of-the-semester stuff. We have our master's comprehensive exams tonight, which, if all goes as it should, will make 5 of my students very happy, because they'll be graduating in a couple weeks. Yeah!

Lisa, hope you are feeling better soon. 

Gabby's feeling fine and ate her dinner last night and breakfast this morning with her usual enthusiasm. :)  I added even more water than normal to keep things moving along.  She's pooped twice this morning but no signs of the leash yet.  Thanks for all the good thoughts for her. :)

Drizzly weather here again for the fourth or fifth day. The carpet at home looks like doo doo and will need to be cleaned before our family Christmas get together on Saturday.  I really don't have time for it and may just let it go.  It's not like my family hasn't seen my house at it's worst now and then. lol  I found out last night that DH needs to bring a potluck for his office Christmas party tomorrow.  That wasn't on my agenda either.  I'm still determined to not get stressed about the holidays but I'm slowly losing the battle.  I did get some presents wrapped last night and only have a few presents to buy.

You mean you can't, Deb?  I am shocked and disappointed to learn this.

Working in an office of 5 people, we skip the get-togethers, esp. since 3 of 5 are related (I'm not).  And having no spouse, no pressure there. 

rain rain rain here too. But it is also over 50 so I am not complaining! Surprisingly my sinuses are not all whacked out either so that's 2 things to not complain about. yay.

I still haven't started my Christmas shopping. However, my sister texted me a photo of my 2 m.o. niece in the little holiday outfit I bought her. that made my day :) It was a very cute picture. She was even smiling.

Happy hour tonight. Hey that's another thing to be happy about! Warm weather, clear sinuses, cute niece in happy outfit and happy hour after work. It's the perfect storm of happiness today. Now, if only GabbyG would poop out the leash everything would be perfect.

Of course I CAN, Tina - it's a question of WANTING to.  Actually, I took the easy way out - I'm throwing together a casserole of kielbasa, saurkraut and potatoes.  I am serving it with pumpernickel bread and butter.  I'm a firm believer in KISS !!!

It rained all day yesterday and it's just a slushy mess out there. I really hope we get a good snowstorm or three before Christmas. It's just very lightly snowing right now.

Bummer, Deb. Too bad they couldn't have just let you take it and call with the credit card. Especially if you're normally a good customer.

Poopy vibes for GabbyG!

The kids had their Christmas program at daycare last night and it was so cute! They did great and were very well behaved through the singing and dinner. Sonja picked her nose throughout pretty much the entire thing, though. I swear Willa's picked her nose like three times in her life. I just don't know what to do! I show her how to use a kleenex and let her do it herself, but she just loves to pick.
