When wolves eat a kill they also eat the skin

For the lurkers and others who assume that because a wild canid eats certain things it must be 100 % safe for our domestic dogs, keep in mind that this isn't necessarily true. The fact is that wolves and other wild canids die all the time from what they eat and from bloat and salmonella and the many other things that can be dangerous and deadly. Just because these deaths aren't witnessed doesn't mean that the risk isn't there and that they never suffer a punctured bowel or blockage. It's well documented that wild canids don't live long, healthy lives like a well cared for domestic dog generally does. The distinction is, with a domestic dog, if there is a problem, the owner can be aware of the potential for a problem and keep watch and get veterinary care quickly if necessary.
Just as it's incorrect to assume that because someone else's dog ate such and such and was fine, it's incorrect to assume that because a dog had a problem after eating such and such that all dogs will. Stuff happens and each incident is unique.
