I was in Trader Joe's today and as I walked down the dog food aisle (I always like to look to see what places have), a woman asked me if I had a dog. I said yes, and she asked me if the Trader Joe's food was good. Now, mind you I had not recently looked at it but I immediately said, "I wouldn't feed it" based on my past looks and previous discussions on this board about it. I showed her the ingredients which started with corn and then some other fillers. The only mention of some kind of meat was byproduct and not near the top of the list. I told her briefly to look at the first 4 ingredients and they should be mainly meat and to look at all the products prior to the first "fat" because I have read those are the ingredients that make up the majority of the food. I also wrote down the web site [link
http://www.dogfoodproject.com]www.dogfoodproject.com[/link] for her to look at. She said she has a toy australian cattle dog and she was feeding Nutro but the dog didn't like it so she went back to what the breeder fed... Beneful. I told her that she should look at those ingredients also. She realized they are probably bad and is going to find a new food and switch her dog to one! Yay!!!!! I thought it was great she even asked if the TJ food was good rather than just buying another random food she knew nothing about.
