Johnny -- Happy Birthday!  I'm sorry, I woulda missed it if not for this!

Jan -- glad everbuddy is making progress.

Amanda -- sounds like you're busier than normal even.  I know Cher just exists to make sure no one else gets too full of themselves.

    Tina - yeah, been there!

Paige, I felt lightheaded just reading what you wrote.  But good news on the aspirates, but we don't want neck issues.  Massage -- you got White Flower Oil?  it does really help reduce any inflammation.

Jackie -- we could write books on the stupid things people say. The honest answer is "Because I could't write a check on Monday and have it float til Friday when I get paid and it will be good"

Am still swamped.  Must put bloody nose back on grindstone (ouch)

Boy, that's the truth!  I showed DH the photo of "Rupert in hiding" last night, and he thought it was hilarious!

Glad to hear you had a better night, Janice -- hope the germs leave your house ASAP!  And I hope the illnesses and boo-boos for Gracie and everyone in Amanda's crew get better soon.  Paige, you're not alone in being a worry-wart dog Mom . . . I'm right there with you!

The past two days at work have been very frustrating for me, so I can sympathize with your comments today, Tina.  I spent a good deal of Monday and Tuesday grumbling and cursing under my breath at my bosses --- who are on yet another vacation in a sunny, warm, climate all week (which happens to be the busiest 5 days of the month, but whatever . . . doesn't everyone schedule vacation when there are deadlines?)  Okay, better not get started again this morning.  I'm hoping today is going to be much less irritating!

Depending on the type of music your DH's band plays, Janice, I might enjoy having some live music to work by.  Could help keep me from getting sleepy at my desk!

Whoops -- edited to add HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHNNY!  Enjoy your day and have something special to eat as part of your celebration (I always choose something chocolate)!

     I have two helpers today!

Reggie the pug is the singer's dog. He takes him everywhere and Rupert loves having a buddy to play with. But omg I forgot what it's like to have a dog that begs!  Indifferent

Reggie is currently sitting in my lap and Rupert is totally jealous!

Tracy, they play mostly old punk stuff (Dead Kennedys, Rancid, Bad Religion, Misfits, Fifteen, Cramps), but they also take some old hits (Flock of Seagulls - I Ran, Pat Benetar - Heartbreaker, Not Your Stepping Stone) and play them faster/harder/punked up.

OK, guess it's time for winter here.  Cold and expecting up to EIGHT inches of snow tonite and into tomorrow.  Drat.

    Happy Birthday Johnny!!!!!

And I forgot what else I was gonna say.  Double drat.

    Back to the Christmas ornaments.....

It's actually BECAUSE of all the massage work we do (thank you TaoOfGoldyShep!) that I found so many new lumps that didn't feel like fatty tumors.  Gracie is also now retired from competition because of what I saw going on w/her foot and I thought it was caused by her shoulder.  (I didn't want her landing from jumps and hurting herself) My vet clarified that her muscles are equal on each side, no atrophy, and w/the way she pronates, she thinks it's something Dobes do when they're relieving pressure on their necks/backs.  Gracie doesn't wear a collar/leash unless I'm forced to (ie, going into the vet's office) and I already bought her a pretty harness, expecting that one day we'd be moving to that.  So, this may be the time.  My vet told me repeatedly she looks really good and is not showing her age, so that made me feel good.  I've been told by other people at the rescue that she's looking the best of all the puppies from that litter.  She's going to be 9 in May.  Craziness!  How'd she go from puppy to elder?

Not for nothing Jan  . . . . .  but OLD punk would be The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, The Clash, etc.

I just gave away my age, didn't I ???  Big Smile

    Happy Birthday Johnny!!! Party!!!

Paige - I'm glad to read that none of the lumps were worrisome but I'm sorry about the other news. With your love and care, Gracie is going to live a long, healthy life though.

Majorly swamped here again today. I have too many irons in the fire and my brain doesn't multi-task well at all anymore and especially not when I feel stressed. I really hope to be fairly caught up by the end of the day.

They play some of that too, Deb! Smile Good stuff even though it was originally a bit before my time. Angel

In honor of National Cotton Candy Day:

    Ingredients
    2 ounces of SKYY vodka
    1 ounce of cranberry juice
    1 ounce of pineapple juice
A bag of Cotton Candy (Preferably Pink)
    A Martini Glass

    Directions
Now combine the vodka and juices over ice in a cocktail shaker, shake it vigorously for 10-15 seconds then pour it over the puff of cotton candy patiently waiting in the martini glass to be doused and dissolved.

We're peers, Deb . . . I'm familiar with the music of all the groups you listed, but none of the ones Jan listed!  Yes, I'm very middle-aged!  Indifferent

I heard on the radio this morning that it was cotton candy day, but they failed to mention anything about a cocktail like the one Deb suggested.  It sounds tasty, and it looks pretty, too!
