Okay, it's been a while since I've posted, but I'm hoping someone can help me out with this question. I have been using a car harness for Ryder ever since I got him last Jan. The harness has never fit his chest very well but I have never found a comparable car seat harness that would work for him. He needs to have a little bit of room or he will freak out!
So, I'm back in an actual city for the summer and of course have been looking at all of the local dog stores for new toys. Well, I found a leash that doubles as a harness for the car. It has the seat buckle built into the handle. What that means is that I can get any harness I like and still be able to buckle him in. So, now that I have options with a harness can anyone give me hints on how to fit the harness correctly. Where exactly do I measure besides around the neck? Is there anything in particular I should look for? etc. Ryder is a mixed breed dog with a really big chest and neck and is around 64 lbs.
I would appreciate any hints as it's too hot to drag him around to different pet stores to try on alot of harnesses.
