    For our All American dogs

I thought it would be fun, probably once again, to list our dogs, what we think they're mixed with and what traits from those breeds they've inherited.  This came from thinking about one of my dogs and her personality with regards to agility.

    Tasha - Australian Shepherd/Husky - "Ausky"?
She has the loyalty of an Aussie, the "stubborness" of a Husky(takes several reps more than other dogs to understand) and the "bitchiness" of an Aussie.

    Kota - Pomeranian/Sheltie - "Pomtie"?
He herds/nips like a sheltie, barks non-stop like a pomeranian and the speed of a sheltie.

    Shadow - Labrador/Beagle - "Beagador"?
She has the laid back attitude of a labrador, the hunting stubborness of a beagle and the love of outdoors like both!

    Pepper - Labrador/Rottweiler? - "Labweiler"?
She has the play attitude of the lab and would eat us out of house and home if she could!  lol....

    How about others?

the "stubborness" of a Husky(takes several reps more than other dogs to understand)

    I'm not sure it's because huskies don't understand - it's more of an "I don't wanna" attitude.

Shari - Siberian husky/Samoyed mix (R.I.P.)  Stubborn but friendly husky, fluffy lover Samoyed.

Edited: "sink in", "get", "do", something....

That may be.  I can't figure her out.  I *thought* she'd be a great agility dog but she's pretty slow during a course and she only runs fast if I'm out in front running ahead of her.
    • Gold Top Dog
Hmm...that's a puzzler.  I did find with Shari over the years that wasn't terribly inclined to run unless she was chasing a squirrel, rabbit, or cat.  If another dog tried to get her zooming around, she'd look at her like "whatever, I'm just sniffing around, investigating, and taking my sweet time".  Shari wouldn't even chase me or my son when he was little.  Put her in snow, however, and look out.  That dog could go forever.

Maybe Tasha needs a snowy course?

Oh she loves to zoom around the yard if she's being chased by the other dogs.  And in the snow.  Loves the snow!  But I can't find anything more motivating to her than me running up front through a course.  No treats or toys will speed her up at all.

She'll run fast chasing me if I run the **outside**  of the agility course.  Which is quite a bit of running for me.  ;)  And if we make it to higher levels, won't be possible.

Cassidy is a Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd cross. Her mother was a purebred GSD, and the father a chocolate Lab. We made up a name for this "new breed" (lol), and that's Sheprador. Cassidy, I believe, is like a Lab in that she loves water and playing fetch, no aggression at all in her personality, loves most people, and gets along good with other dogs, is good with kids, etc. She has kind of a GSD build, with some of the coloring, and she's pretty smart as well [:)]

    Mirelle's just all Lab!

This is Eddie my Labuskyff  lab/husky/mastiff his talents include eating, sleeping, eating and sleeping some more.Licking himself and stealing things. He is only a baby now but i predict he will someday become a champion in his field.

Blue is a german shepherd/husky mix - German Shusky.  Loves to herd me around the house and now no birds are safe in our yard without Blue trying to herd them. He looks like a white gsd just his baby blues give him away as a husky. Loves to sniff things out and is very smart. As for the husky part in him he loves the snow and his weight is more to the husky side plus he likes to talk that is about all the husky is in him.

Max, I think, is also a GSD/yellow lab mix - another *Sheprador* [:D]  He has the GSD face and slimmer hips  & longer hair down the middle of his back and the upper backs of his legs. He also has the markings of the lab and the *drooly doofy* lab personality and temperment.  He's a very fast learner, but he doesn't have the intensity and focus of the shepherd.

    I think I have a Shusky Chowkita.
Chow--dotted tongue, so unathletic, quiet, loyal
    Husky--friendly, playful, affectionate, a tease
    Shepherd--herds me, the lawnmower
Akita--everyone asks but I only see it in the tail.

Brown's a lab, so at least we know that. Grey, however...who knows. We know he's part border collie, but we have no idea where he gets his huge size. He's solid like a rock, has a big chest, and is super strong. Judging from his eating habits, we think he's part goat. lol
