    Tuesday chat

I think I am coming down with something, hopefully just a cold.  Good thing I have 4 days off.

Sucks that you are getting something near the holiday Tina. I hope it blows over and you are fine for turkey day.

Went to TMobile yesterday and phone was fine. It was my charger that blew. I was able to get packed last night, so the only thing I need to pack tonight is my toothbrush, makeup, etc and Marley's kennel/water bowl/food bowl. Sleeping at my moms tonight so we can leave at 4 in the morning. SO excited!

Everyone else, have an awesome Tuesday!

sorry to hear you may be getting ill - but glad you've got 4 days to chill out!

Very foggy and warm today - really getting a bit fed up of the AC versus heat battle here.

I walked into a HUGE spider web when out with B this morning. I was completely freaked out because out of the corner of my eye I saw the giant spider - after I was already screaming and trying to get the web out of my hair etc. Still feeling the heeby jeebies, shivers.....

Haven spoken to a bunch of peeps in the 'hood it is going to be VERY quiet around here this weekend LOL  I was going to organize a Thanksgiving day dog walk/play but no one is going to be home Sad

alright work beckons even if what I'd like to do is curl up for a snooze

Wow, I hope you get to feeling better soon Tina, it's not so fun to be sick during a long vacation.

Just checking in, been very busy! Hope everyone has a good day!

Tina, hope you're wrong and you don't get sick.

Had my cataract surgery yesterday.  All went well.  Going in this morning to get the patch off and have the eye checked.  I can't wait for the patch to come off.

    Jackie -=- rah!!  Hope the recovery is E ... Z !!!

    Tina!  Feel better!

Karen - I react similarly but it doesn't make me afraid, it truly just pi$$es me off.  It makes me ANGRY -- so much so that I lose the ability to be coherent, etc.  The end result is similar except I have this insane desre to *kill* not just get away from (none of this is admirable on my part at all -- but it always amazes me in retrospect how incredibly angry it makes me instantly.  *sigh* - it's like I skip the "scared" part and go right to anger and it  feels just a little too much like my mom's rages which makes me mad at ME in addition).

Here's to a spider free day!!

Tina - I hope you're not even getting a cold but if you do, I hope it's not a bad one.

Karen - ewwwww to the spider incident. I would've been freaked out too and probably done something stupid and hurt myself. Stuff like that makes me lose my senses.

Jackie - I didn't even know you were having the surgery yesterday. I knew you were going to have it but didn't realize it was this week. I'm glad it all went well. Is there any downtime that comes with this? If so, I hope you're able to enjoy it.

Another sunny day here. I am so glad to have an office with floor to ceiling windows on days like this. It does make me want to curl up like a sleepy kitty though and take a nap. Big Smile

Cathy, can I come to your office?  I want to curl up and take a nap, too --- but that's becauase it's raining sideways here, with wind and very dark skies.  I must've driven through 10 small ponds on my way in this morning (thanks to leaves clogging up the sewer drains on some streets).  It is so incredibly hard to drag yourself out of bed at 6AM when you can hear the rain coming down in buckets and the wind howling.  Anyway, I'd enjoy a nap in a sunny spot at your office.  Heck -- I'll even do your work for you while YOU take a nap, just so I can sit in a sunny workspace!  Wink

Tina - maybe you can try some extra Vitamin C or that Airborne stuff, along with lots of fluids today -- and flush any threatening germs out of your system before the settle in!

Tracy - I'd gladly share my sunny office with you. It gets really lonely here most days. This week, it seems that the rest of the building is quiet too. I'm sure many people took the whole week off.

I love both Oregon and Washington but I'm sure all the rain would get to me. We generally go thru some periods of being gray with gloomy fog but that has happened yet this year.

Getting dressed for work this morning, I couldn't find a long-sleeved top I wanted to wear. While looking for it, I realized there were 2 other tops similar to it that also weren't hanging up anywhere in my closet. I kept telling myself to just get going and look for them later but I came back 2 more times because it was driving me nuts. I finally decided to check in a cupboard in our armoire and found not only those 3 tops but about 7 that I'd completely forgot about. The same thing happened to me last year when I switched out my clothes from summer to winter Embarrassed

Jackie - you're on a computer a day after your cataract surgery?!?!  Shouldn't you be resting and not reading or anything?

Cora tried to meet her nephew/housemate today - it didn't go well.  She was defensive and did a body shake that took her weight off the leg she's been favoring and ended up flat on her side.  I feel guilty b/c my job was to keep her safe from him.. I didn't do enough to keep her safe from herself.  She's ok resting and the meeting ended there, but, it just sucked.  She's doing so well - she needs to be in aqua therapy - but we need the ramp set up for her to leave the house to go out for that.

Whats that? Wink We only need to bring in jackets during winter time and that is for a few short weeks. Most of the time, you can wear shorts and tanks year round LOL

Yes - I know. My best friend lives in Tampa and I talk to her a couple times a week and hear about the warm temps this time of year. I also talk to her in the summer though and that's when I wouldn't want to trade places. I sure would be loving it there right now though.

Geez, she had to check in to let us know she's okay!  She was probably afraid if I relayed the message, I might tell everyone her butt implant surgery was a success.  LOL

it was awful and I don't fear spiders but I was walking B and he wandered to some woods for a sniff and I was looking at him when I was suddenly engulfed in the web, I had no idea it was there so it was shocking and then while I was trying to get it off me saw the giant spider out of the corner of my eye. I wanted to strip off my shirt and make sure it wasn't in there but didn't think anyone passing by would enjoy it LOL. I was making all sorts of freaking out noises and Bugsy was just staring at me as if I had completely lost my marbles.

Note to self - keep eyes on where I am going to avoid further incidents like this. I am still itchy!

Winter clothes here are minimal but cooler clothes like long sleeve tees come out usually in Oct. November is the oddest month here and this year is extra odd.  It is near 80* again today and very humid still.  Had the air running last night to get a comfortable sleeping temp. Woke up to 61* and on Thursday our temps are to be 28*-55* for the day.  This has been the same all month.

I had to run to Target and oye the holiday drivers are out in full force Tongue Tied

This is exactly why I keep it all crammed in the closet. Big Smile I would absolutely forget what I had stashed from one season to the next.

Cathy, from yesterday ... I think what the UCD students are protesting is the fact that tuition keeps going up anywhere from 20%  to 25% every year while the administrators' salaries keep going up astronomically, and classes and programs are being cut to the point where it now takes 6 or 7 years to finish what used to be done in 4. Kids who don't get full rides or who don't have well to do parents are finishing their undergrad work anywhere from $50K to $75K in debt before they even find a real job.  The students (along with everyone else) are protesting the use of riot gear and pepper spray when there wasn't a riot. There were just a bunch of students sitting peaceably in the quad, and as far as I know the right to a peaceful protest hasn't been recalled. They weren't blocking traffic or doorways and anyone needing to get into Mrak Hall could have walked around them like they did during the big protest back in the 80s.  Riot gear was totally uncalled for and it makes me wonder how they'd respond to a real riot,  Grenades? Biological warfare? I guess I almost always sympathize with protesters because I did my fair share of marching, chanting, sitting in etc., much to the chagrin of my very conservative parents who didn't believe in questioning authority. I, on the other hand, question everything and don't believe that just because someone with a uniform tells me to do something that I have to do it.

I hope the sun comes out sometime today before it's time for it to set.  I hate this damp, chilly, icy fog.
