Love the time change. More sleep and the kids were outta bed themselves this morning without me having to wake them. That part will wear off but I love not getting ready or walking them to school...in the DARK. LOL.

I'm having the most wonderful Monday (putting shield up now....).  The last few weeks my Mondays have been more like Sundays, as I've only had evening clients and had the entire day to get the house tidied, prepared for the week's clients, etc.  It's only noon and I've got two loads of laundry done and a third put away, the van cleaned out for the winter, bedsheets changed, all plants watered, office organized, Kash's ribbons hung up, and even got my run finished!

I'm so glad we had the washer/dryer included in the house when we bought this year. That's an expense I could happily live without for some time to come. We're lucky because their are almost new.

The weekend was great. We got all the firewood split, and into the basement, and even helped deliver and stack my parents' as well. Nothing like the smell of firewood burning in the winter. It's very sentimental for me.  The propane fireplace ain't got nothin' on real wood.  We had a birthday party for SO's niece, and we took Zipper and Kash along.  Kash did great for the business of it all, home with a strange female dog (I watched him like a hawk for marking), and the stomping of a five year old girl! We took them for a long walk after on the boardwalk since it was so nice out, and then finished up with grocery shopping - one of my favorite pastimes! *G*

I've got a beautiful sirloin roast to go in the slow cooker for supper, and some of the freshest rolls I've bought in a long time. Mash up some potatoes and add a green salad and I'll be in food heaven for the evening!

The boy is being obstinate about getting up...he WAS up when I left....and going into the woods with me.  Honestly, I'd do it all myself if the shoulder would let me start the chainsaw.  He's worthless when he's in these moods.

Karen, my brain must still  be on DST. lol  I totally misunderstood your earlier comments about the washer.

Jackie - did I miss something? What's going on with Belle? I hope it's nothing serious.

I watched some of the Breeder's Cup this weekend. I don't have a clue who's who but I love watching the horses. There was one that was trying to buck the jockey off before the race - too funny. I especially loved watching the 18 y.o. jockey win too.

Karen - I hope you have as much luck as we did fixing your washer. Our's is close to 15 yrs old but when it broke recently, DH was able to order a part for less than $5 and repair it. It had to do with the clutch and we were able to figure it out just by reading some repair forums.

I don't mind the time change and like that it was light earlier but it's pea soup foggy this morning and only about 40 degrees. The weekend was also rainy and gloomy. I miss the sun already Crying

That is what DH did yesterday - and someone there told him it was the transmission. The parts are indeed covered but I'll say that the 1st repair co. that Maytag assigned concerns me. The second one is local and when I spoke to the serviceman he said he would not repair this machine.  So the ball is now in DH's court.  i know what I would do but he is of a different mindset most of the time LOL

Kate and Glenda just read about your garlic planting.  I really want to plant some but never have.  Well actually I did one time but it didnt work.  Is now the time of year to plant cause I think I planted in late spring before.   I love garlic and it is getting soooo very expensive and we use fresh garlic in just about everything we cook.  Can I use the garlic that I am getting at the store or should I purchase a different kind?  I also love coking with garlic buds, had a friend give us some one time, mmmmyummy!

We had a repair man come to look at ours this Summer and it was only 3 years old and was going to cost almost as much to fix it as it would to buy a new one.  I went with a top load Whirlpool.  My repair guy, who I have used for years, told me to be sure to get one with a manual clutch as they are much easier to repair and tend to work better anyway.  The last one was electronic.  They have plenty of top load that are also energy efficient and save on water...our new one is.  I have heard of so many people who hate their front loads for one reason or another.  I always check with my scratch and dent place first!

I got a new vacuum last week and tried it out yesterday and love it!  I hope my love for it continues over the years.  I got a canister this time for a lot of different reasons and think I will be very happy with it.  It's amazing the things that excite me as an adult!

We were pretty sure we'd be buying a new washer too and just got lucky. It's hard to get excited about something like that. It's not like the new ones really do a better job or anything. Now if I had to replace my dishwasher, I'd do a happy dance. The new ones are quieter and probably do a better job.

I went to check the mail and glanced at the clock and thought "wow, this morning has really flown by". I just now saw the time on my computer and remembered I hadn't changed the clocks here yet EmbarrassedSad

Speaking as someone who thought she was being sooooooooooooooo smart by buying a refurb 30-some-year-old washer... I beg to differ! My previous washers (all no more than 10ish years old) have done a much better job at washing quickly, being gentle on fabrics (not causing random rips, less balling on sweaters, etc.), better job of getting out stains, better job of getting out the dirtiest dirt, apparently use less water/energy... and my dryer gets lint EVERYWHERE - except actually in the lint filter basket. It also takes approximately 1.5 hours to dry a normal-sized load of a week's worth of khakis, shirts, undies, and socks. Yargh. I never got excited about washers and driers until I got stuck with ones that really are sub-par. Now I think they're thrilling! :-D Maybe y'all's new appliances will surprise you, and win your heart yet!

Hugs Gina....It's hard enough to feel that way, but even worse when it's your own mother.  It is just a good reminder in how we do not ever want to treat our own children.  I still get those reminders from my dad often and see a little Sarah come out in Devin anytime he acts a certain way towards her.  He thinks he is helping, but I would rather he let me handle my child and not step in when it is only hurting her impression of him.  He is a dictator and she doesn't respond well to that, just like I never did!

Love on those kiddos a little extra when they get home and let your hubs comfort you.  :(

This is bad timing and I had been meaning to ask this morning, but did you get to see your cousin?  I am hoping you were at least able to rekindle an on the surface relationship with her, if not more.

Like Lisa -- I LIKE this time change.  If it gets dark in the afternoon I just turn on a light.  I'm up and awake easier in the mornings.  In fact, I never really DO get acclimated to the "summer" time change.

Been so busy at work I haven't even been able to poke my nose in.
