When someone talks bad about your dog

I know I'm posting alot today, but I had alot happen. I was away this weekend and when I came back I found out that the crazy neighbor is telling people that Sara killed her doxin. She said my dog ripped the belly out of her dog. Now what should I do about it. Should I ignore the witch or put put my foot down and tell her to knock off her $h!#.

Is this the same one that let her dog kill your ducks?

I don't know what you should do. If she has no proof of it (which, obviously she wouldn't because Sara didn't do it), I wouldn't worry to much in the legal aspect. I'd just keep Sara close at all times to make sure she stays safe.

Yes this is the same woman. Sara is always with me. If we leave she is in the house. Sara is not a mean dog. The dog she says Sara killed is ouside right now barking its head off.

    Can we say psycho?

Uhhh!  I truly am hoping you can move soon.  I say ignore her... dont get tangled in her web of crap.  Seems the whole area knows this woman is a psycho... let her dig herself a hole.

I would write her a letter. Nothing aggressive but maybe make her feel like a piece of poop for meddling in your affairs. Tell her you are extremely saddened by the fact that she is so pathetic that she has to involove and try to sabotage someone else's home life. Tell her you are extremely sorry for whatever terrible wrong doing has been done to her that makes her feel she needs to lie. Tell her that you have refrianed from mentioning what some if the neighbors have said about HER, you have always thought she was a "real nice lady" and you dont beleive that she is a poor lonely, meddlesome, crazy old lady as most say.
Then offer the old witch some cookies with rat poison, haha!

I had a neighbor complain that Rory was barking non stop day and night......when Rory wasnt even home. She hated Rory because she was a pit bull....that was after she had met her, petted her and then inquired about her breed. After we moved (for other reasons) another neighbor said the new tenants had the meanest barking poodle. It barked all day, hah aha haha ha!!!!

Oh geeze, I'd ignore her..then if it didn't stop I'd do something about it.

I would ignore her and try and find a new place. She sounds mentally unbalanced...... seriously. Calling her out on it will only make it worse. She's obviously not a rational person.

Sara did WHAT???????????  Not on your life.  Ignore the psycho & keep a CLOSE eye on Sara.  I don't trust this woman.

Who said"High fences make good neighbors." ?

i have a whole family of nuts living next to me...they only come up for the summer(THANK GOD)but when they get going i cant let my kids outside...all the fighting and swearing..luckily there is a large thick tree and hedgerow between us,and the rest of the neighbors do a community watch..they all know how these people are..

good luck, and keep an eye on your pup...

Get a notebook and start documenting direct personal contact, not hearsay.  It may be that she is mentally ill or possibly just sociopathic (those folks are not mentally ill from a diagnostic standpoint).  However there may come a time when a report to the authorities or an order of protection may be appropriate.  A video camera if strange things start happening to your property may be helpful as well.

Im sorry that you are experiencing this.  Your neighbor seems a little wacky.  I don't have any new advice other than whats been posted, but I suggest keeping your doggie safe, possibly writing her a letter, but not one that is going to make her even angrier, or any more coocoo.

Good luck, and keep us updated!

I would keep Sara close with you and ignore her since if you do anything it will probably make things much worse. I hope you find another place to live soon and get away from that witch.

mrv is totally right - keep track of this stuff.  I know you mentioned before that the police weren't going to do anything about her, but if something really dastardly happened, you have records.

Also, how did you find out she was saying these things?  And to whom? Any way you could point out to them that said dog is alive and well and barking outside right now?  Keep all your animals and things away from that person.  Sounds like she has beam fixated on you, and you do not want to set her off anymore than she already is.

I would be very careful around this woman.  She is obviously not stable.  Try to ignore her, confronting her may start something bigger and more dangerous.  If things start happening, keep notifing the police like you did about the ducks.

    Good luck, stay safe.
