I'm not familiar with this. Why are they hunting foxes and what methods are they using?

Fox hunting? Fox hunting is a very popular sport in Great Britain back in the . . .  way back when. For hundreds of years, foxes have been tormented, hunted and killed for sport, sometimes for fur. There are many sites that will help explain the cruelty of fox hunting, here's a link but . ..

Caution: This following link contains extremely vile images of the reality of fox hunting.

Here's the link to the main site if you don't want to see the images right away.

Fox hunting has been in many movies and is very well-known. Even the Disney show Marry Poppins has a breif part about fox hunting.

Please sign the petition to help foxes avoid this fate.

While I do not believe in that kind of hunting, I was disturb by their way of "feeding foxes." Humans should never, ever  feed wild animals. It only fosters that humans aren't dangerous and causes trouble for both humans and animals.

IS there really even fox hunting in the US?  I've never heard of it happening.

Yes there is. Hunting foxes are not as cruel because they use guns and few dogs but is still very cruel as they still hunt for sport and occasionaly for fur. Hunting with hounds has been attempted to ban in back in '04 i think, hunters continue to hunt, cruely. Pictures in a previous post will show the results of hunting, I think they were taken in the UK but same applies here in the US, and it should be stopped for good.

I don't want to know much about fox hunting, so I didn't read the info. But the idea disgusts me, so I signed the petition.

I am proud to be #791 to sign. Hopefully there are many more to come. I have forwarded the site to others as well.

have you guys ever gone to or seen a fox hunt? or talked to any fox hunters? it has very little to do with actually hunting foxes, and foxes are almost never harmed. I know people who go fox hunting all winter, and have done so for years, and report their hunt has never actually caught a fox. Basically they go out and run wildly around through the countryside all morning for fun, then they have a big party afterwards. In the U.S. they often skip the fox part entirely and have someone lay a false trail down for the hounds to track. Hunt organizations preserve huge tracts of land in their wild state.
People who really want to kill foxes use poison and nasty leg-hold traps. We have hordes of foxes around here, and they get squashed by cars all the time.

I completely agree mudpuppy.  Often a dry trail is laid down for the dogs.  The kill is not the main focus in hunting in the US, the chase is.  The cases where the foxes are actually killed is the VASTE MINORITY.

To ban this activity would not only be completely pointless, but would deprive the hounds and horses of what they were bred to do.  In addition, who will take the hounds that would be displaced due to the banning?  It is hard enough to find homes for dogs that have been raised in a home enviroment, much less high energy dogs raised in a pack, in a hunting enviroment.

I agree as well. I couldn't find out exactly what they did while fox hunting, so I didn't want to say anymore than "I don't agree with that type of hunting." Although I don't hunt much anymore, I prefer to do the work myself... I think it gives the hunter more appreciation for his/her prey. JMHO though.

That may be the case now but after what I just saw. . . nevermind the petition right now. What they do now is far worse than hunting foxes. They raise . . .  I won't even describe it to you. If anyone has a youtube account, you can watch these videos though I suggest to not watch it if you are light hearted: [linkhttp://youtube.com/watch?v=UBRo4oSHjl4]http://youtube.com/watch?v=UBRo4oSHjl4[/link] and [linkhttp://youtube.com/watch?v=znZ0A3cHGDU]http://youtube.com/watch?v=znZ0A3cHGDU[/link]
They raise these foxes on farms just to be slaughtered. The words that I want to say are not aloud on this forum.
