Karen - maybe you need a bigger bed? I'm super sensitive to noise and a lot of movement, but the king helps and having a mattress than doesn't jiggle with every movement helps too.

LOL we have a king - seriously he is just one of those people that if he is miserable someone should be miserable with him - we should probably look at a new mattress but me thinks that expense will wait for a bit.  He is just uptight about some work things so isn't sleeping very well.  This too shall pass

I am having an allergy fit - not happy - ACHOO!

Yes, I sure do understand. Fortunately, DH was so amped up last night that he finally got up to go watch TV. I feel for him with all the testing crap he's been going thru and wish I could make him feel better but since I can't, I really just want a good night's sleep Stick out tongue

Gina - what are we buying? I might need some retail therapy too. Big Smile

with the kind of disdain that makes it clear to me she's never set foot outside her 15 mile radius of security

You know -- when you feel sane again you really almost have to "pity" (note I did NOT say "feel sorry for" - pity is a negative emotion) someone THAT narrow, THAT small-minded & petty, and that incredibly lacking in confidence in their own abilities tha the only way they think they can make points in this world is to denigrate someone else?... man, life would not be worth living.

((Tina)) -- I do remember how hard that was for you to lose Moose and under such a difficult trial -- so glad you have a new fur buddy to help out.

((Cathy)) David and I just do NOT do "morning" well at all -- in fact, we both go to great lengths to not have to ever get up and "function" at the same time.  We work together so well in almost everything else, but morning amplifies all the things about each other that just don't mesh.  So for marital harmony -- we don't DO mornings together LOL.  It's a joke now, but it was a hard lesson for us.  I FEEL your pain ...  and ... well the whole crap thing.  *sigh*

((Paige))  Tell the boss that the onboarding process is in a ridiculous state, and you needed to consult with the HR brat offsite over coffee.  LOL.  Sorry, not funny.  Good luck with that meeting.

Big event for the day:  got my teeth cleaned.  All sparkly clean.

Deb, did I ever tell you about the time that I walked out to the garage and found a possom next to Buddy's head?  The big black hunter, Buddy had been out that night, came back with a trophy.  He laid it on his bed with him.  Why?  Whatever.  I walk out there, squealed for Rick to come get this nasty dead rodent out of my garage.  He got the shovel, walked it all the way across the yard and tossed it in the pasture...and the darned thing got up and ran away.  Crazy!

This happened to us too.  Rocky brought one home last year laid it down right beside the door so he could show me!  What a good boy, Ick!

Anytime he brings "trophies" home I wait until he is not watching to dispose of the body.  I went back out a bit later and it was gone!  I laughed at the whole "playing possum" line my Daddy used to say.   I was actually quite happy that I didnt have to dispose of another dead varmit. Big Smile

So this tickled my fancy today...I went to a local pharmacy chain this afternoon to get my flu shot, and they gave me a book of coupons as a thank you.   Ummm, most of the coupons were for cold and flu medications!!!

Nothing too crazy today. Just some l/s tees and a couple sweaters. Oh but I am buying a pair of those new Levi's jeans that are supposed to fit your shape. They have 3 fits, etc. saw a bunch of great comments online about them, and Kohl's had a decent price on them so hopefully they work out! I have exactly ONE pair of jeans which don't make me feel like a heffa'. The boots I bought from Zappos yesterday came today and aside from being a bit looser at the calf than than I like? They're magnificent. Now it just needs to STAY cool all day so I can wear them!

Which type did you buy? I spent about 2 hrs at Kohls a couple weeks ago trying on every style of Levis they had. I ended up buying the skinny jean. Last week I decided to try them on again and decided I didn't care for them and one reason was the length was perfect but I know they'll shrink. I took them back and tried on a couple more pairs and left empty handed. I hope you have better luck than I did.

    I love Zappos!!

    • Gold Top Dog
Cathy, the Curve ID ones. If you Google "Levi's CurveID" you will see what I mean. Pretty interesting concept and the reviews at several places selling them were stellar.
    • Gold Top Dog

Hey - that's pretty cool Gina. Based on the quiz I'm a Surpeme Curve Hmm. Do they only come in skinny though? That's what it looked like but maybe I need to look further. I also didn't see the CurveID jeans at Kohls. Did you find online at Kohls?

Oh - I just saw they have bootcut too. Cool!!

Ok, I laughed out loud at that one. lol  That's funny.

I AM SUPER HAPPY!  I went to pick up the dog from the vet and O M G.  She looks like she spent the day at Disney Land!  She is SOOO happy!  She raced out the door w/her newly trimmed nails (they were awful!) but greeted everyone along the way to see if they were going to offer her some pats or something.  I wouldn't normally classify this as an outgoing and friendly dog, but she was dripping in chipper charm.  SO happy!  She gave the vet tech no troubles getting into the car - she and the vet separately confirmed she was a sweetheart and easy to handle all day.  (jaw drop - I'd been warned constantly that she will bite.  And she will, but not without reasonable provocation it seems.  Don't eff with her owie/acral lick spot too much, and she won't eff with you.)  Anyway, she gave me no troubles unloading and carrying her up the stairs - she is downright chipper and thus I am happy to see her so happy.  It's a good thing!!

So, she had an infection from the wound (emergency vet didn't give good care, shocker - less effective antibiotic and should have had a drain) so she's on a better antibiotic, and she also happens to have an ear infection in one ear, but she clearly feels much better.  I am so excited.  She even came up to me to bury/nuzzle her face btwn my knees more than once - she's never shown that kind of affection before!  I know she's not out of the woods or anything, but attitude is everything.

Talk w/the boss was fine- the usual "what can we do to make this work" stuff.  Not a whole lot of issue, I just have to prioritize getting to work on time ahead of taking care of someone else's dog.  As much as I love the dog, the owner needs to be responsible, not me.

Tina, I was thinking about Bear the other day.  Either I found an old thread or something, but he came up.  Thinking of you  - *passes a piece of Toblerone and a hug*
