So this tickled my fancy today...I went to a local pharmacy chain this afternoon to get my flu shot, and they gave me a book of coupons as a thank you. Ummm, most of the coupons were for cold and flu medications!!!
Ok, I laughed out loud at that one. lol That's funny.
I AM SUPER HAPPY! I went to pick up the dog from the vet and O M G. She looks like she spent the day at Disney Land! She is SOOO happy! She raced out the door w/her newly trimmed nails (they were awful!) but greeted everyone along the way to see if they were going to offer her some pats or something. I wouldn't normally classify this as an outgoing and friendly dog, but she was dripping in chipper charm. SO happy! She gave the vet tech no troubles getting into the car - she and the vet separately confirmed she was a sweetheart and easy to handle all day. (jaw drop - I'd been warned constantly that she will bite. And she will, but not without reasonable provocation it seems. Don't eff with her owie/acral lick spot too much, and she won't eff with you.) Anyway, she gave me no troubles unloading and carrying her up the stairs - she is downright chipper and thus I am happy to see her so happy. It's a good thing!!
So, she had an infection from the wound (emergency vet didn't give good care, shocker - less effective antibiotic and should have had a drain) so she's on a better antibiotic, and she also happens to have an ear infection in one ear, but she clearly feels much better. I am so excited. She even came up to me to bury/nuzzle her face btwn my knees more than once - she's never shown that kind of affection before! I know she's not out of the woods or anything, but attitude is everything.
Talk w/the boss was fine- the usual "what can we do to make this work" stuff. Not a whole lot of issue, I just have to prioritize getting to work on time ahead of taking care of someone else's dog. As much as I love the dog, the owner needs to be responsible, not me.
Tina, I was thinking about Bear the other day. Either I found an old thread or something, but he came up. Thinking of you - *passes a piece of Toblerone and a hug*
