    Wed chat

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.....sing it with me and feel the cardigan!

Not sure if it will be a beautiful day....a few clouds and rain supposed to be moving in.  My brain and body both are objecting to being up and moving, but, that's life.

Anxious to see if the lumps in my office carpet have gone down.  I cleaned it, with a professional machine, and when I went in yesterday, it looked like a hilly field.  Not sure what the heck thats about!  I put some weight on a couple to see if that will help, and I'm really hoping they decide to lie down and behave.

Off to the salt mine...or, in my case, the lumpy carpet!

Hope everyone has a good day.

Today the weather takes a dump. Bye bye beautiful sunshine

Despite having zero motivation last night, i still got my butt to the gym. Yes, i'm patting myself on the back because that was a major effort!

I'm on the road again today and i seriously need some coffee.

My butt still hurts from the bike ride the other day. I forgot about the butt pain that comes with not riding in a long time. I'm going to order that trainer here pretty soon. That or join a spin class...or both!

Pouring down rain here! No walk for Ava but at nine she goes for grooming.  She loves to go there and play with the other pups there. *S* and she loves the car ride too.  Then DH and I off for breakfast which we both love, he loves being retired as do I.  I'm feeling really well and I sure appreciate that at my age.  I'm going home to see the family this weekend also so am looking forward to that.

Glenda, I shampooed my L/R carpet last night I spilled water on it in one spot too much water, I have a lump too so I think maybe too much water? Mine has dried and has gone down now though hope yours do too!  Have a wonderful day everyone.

Gosh, I hope that's all it is.  Even clean the carpeting needs replacing, but I hate to push the building owner for more right now, when I'm the only tennent!  Three empty offices/suites in the building.  Even the baby consignment shop moved out.  Shoot.  I was going to pick up a couple qualifying kids for tax season and then sell them back.

The coffee is NOT doing it's job this morning.  Might have something to do with being awake at 4AM, but I didn't get up until 5:30.

Yep, I think that was the last of summer!  BOOOOOOOOO

Not much going on here.  The weather has been absolutely amazing the past week or so - so amazing Riley had on her bathing suit Saturday and was running around the front yard with the hose and I actually got a little sunburned.  That is pretty much unheard of in Michigan in October.  Sooo tired from watching late night sports, but can't complain.  Our Lions won Monday Night Football and for this town it was almost as good as winning the Superbowl.  What fun!!!  Top that off with baseball playoffs and this town is seriously sleep deprived...thankfully the games today and tomorrow are at 4:00!

Our elderly neighbor passed away on Friday.  It was definitely a blessing and he went pretty fast (he had liver, kidney and lung cancer).  Up until a week or so ago he was still getting around fairly well.  We will definitely miss him.  Rest in peace Domenico.

Work is a little slow right now (well this week) as I wait for the purchasing department to finish putting the screws to my supplier and get a contract negotiated and signed so I can be buried in work for the next 10 years.  I am actually started to get antsy so I wish they would hurry up already.

Went in for Riley's 2nd evaluation for school on Monday.  It went well, but I just finished another letter to the school administration at my deep concern that the process is taking waaay to long and they are not in compliant with state laws in terms of timing, etc.  I don't care if someone is on maternity leave - get your crap together.  My daughter will not suffer because you can't tell your hiney from a hole in the wall.  URGHHH.  Now I know why we decided to go the private school route originally - I wish they had a progam like this so we wouldn't have had to change over.  What a complete and total cluster.  I am so disgusted with all the red tape and crappola.  Her teachers and evaluators are nice, but seriously enough is enough.  She should be in school by now!

We've had some nice weather lately and with the rains, all is greening up.  We're enjoying mid 80's to low 90's and coolish mornings.  The full moon was gorgeous this morning.  The back yard mud hole is almost dried up.  Poor Twister gets mud balls in between his little toes and has to get his tootsies washed off several times a day. lol  He goes in for a dental tomorrow.  I know he'll be all excited thinking he's going to work.  He'll be super disappointed when he realizes where he's actually going.  :(

Lisa, the school situation is ridiculous.  I hope your latest letter to the admin will get some results. We can always get an idog posse together if you need us.

Geez, Lisa, how frustrating for you and Riley.  I hope you get some resolution soon.  Is there someone higher up than the local district you can complain to?

Humidity and moisture will cause carpeting to bunch up, esp. if it was cut a little short and stretched to cover the area.  You might have to re-stretch it if it doesn't lay down.

    Must get to the pile.

    That is all.

Deb -- if you have extra cash -- petty or otherwise - laying around you could divide it up with the rest of us!

Glenda & Auburn -- sending anti-lump thots to you!

Lisa -- grrr -- I hope they get that straightened out for you.

If Steph stops by I hope Blaze's vet visit goes well -- good thots & prayers there!

Jackie -- how was your evening?? Any pictures forthcoming of Jackie & Charles holding hands??

    Have a good day all!

That was me yesterday.  We have a computer program that does most of the math for our managers, yet there are so many data entry mistakes that get turned in w/out balancing out, I'm amazed these people are allowed to run a store.  I guess they think "close enough" will suffice.

Jackie - yes we may need to get that posse together.

Yep, I will start a formal complaint to the Michigan Department of Education if I don't get a response by tomorrow.  Per state law they have to hit certain timing (which they haven't).  I have a feeling now that I informed them they are "non compliant" things should start moving pretty quickly.  It's a big deal if I have to file a complaint since they could have funding taken away.  I have no doubt I will get either a phone call or email today.  That's usually how it works.  I feel bad because they are short staffed because no one planned for this one teacher's maternity leave, but that's not my problem.  I am done playing nice.

Yeah, our guys put in for their mileage and, for example, will have a starting odometer reading 15626 and an ending odometer reading of 15693 and tell me they need reimbursement for 70 miles.  Hello  . . . didn't you learn to subtract in 2nd grade??

Yes, it is a big deal. I have a book here that says even Private Schools are required to accomodate kids with disabilities so you might look into that also. The majority of private schools typically get some sort of funding from the Fed for something. So if you really think private schools might be better then you could look into it. There are also private schools out there specifically for kids with challenges...if Riley has something that requires an IEP, not sure if that's the case or not. Red tape can be frustrating. Ours moved along pretty expediently so you did the right thing in saying the magic word "noncompliance" LOL!

From my experience with the special needs system, the squeaky wheel definately gets the grease, and this isn't just state funding they stand to loose, but federal bucks as well.

Coincidently enough, I will be in MI next week and will be happy to stop by and swing the 2x4.  Haven't had a good fight in far too long, and fighting the school system really reves my engine!

I know it's not a funny situation, but geez, didn't anybody notice she was preggers?  I mean, it's like 9 months, so it's not like they didn't have time to plan?  Maybe the teachers/admin need a biology refresher. Huh?
