I've never really like online chats. It's just me but I find forums to have more of a connection then chat lines. You can say more than one line and actuly have a conversation with people other than the :

    hello
    how are you
    what is your name
    blah blah blah...

You don't really connect with people in just a few short phrases.

back when my DH was suffering with Graves Disease and was loopy I used to chat a lot.
Now that he's "normal" again I don't chat much. I find it takes up too much of my time.

I actually got to meet Schlep and his gorgeous golden at Dog Days of Summer in Denton, (Tx). We were mainly talking about the different foods that he carries, etc. He had a booth out there.

I used to chat when I had an office job.  It was fun and not as distracting as a forum.  It was a good way to keep in touch with a couple friends that had moved across the country, and also had office jobs.

We both quit our office jobs at the same time, and I stopped using chat - it seems too inane to be worth sitting down at the computer.  I like the online communities for the exchange of ideas, but if I want to get to know someone better, I like to go to private e-mail, phone, and in person if possible.

Besides, the grammar/spelling drives me bonkers.  I just can't get past it in chatrooms.  "Are" is spelled with two letters on either side of the "R", dang it!!!    [;)]

I go to a Dog related chat room once or twice a week (I even am a moderator for one of them). The topics range from Tips and Training to Rescue/Adoption and Hound chat. Its' a really great place to sit and chat about your dogs.

I'm not sure if I am allowed to post the link here, but please PM me if you want the link

We could always just start an open chat room on AIM.  Just invite yourself to something like iDogchat chatroom, and if everyone does the same thing people can go in when they're online and if enough people show up then have a conversation.  I show up to a couple of chat rooms like that once in awhile.

Ok, defying the fact that I'm exposing my stupidity to another Wisconsinite:
