    Hug your pit bulls tonight.

There was just a horrible story on the news. The night of the fourth a freaked out stray pit broke through someone's fence and curled up in the corner of this person's garage. The homeowners were interviewed and said they've been afraid to leave their house for days, not because this dog has done anything, but because they're afraid it will. Today animal control FINALLY showed up to pick it up - only after the people called the news. To be fair, the reporter made sure to stress that this pittie has done nothing wrong, it has been hiding in the garage the whole time - unfortunately part of the video they showed was it freaking out after AC collared it. This dog has the saddest scared eyes, I'm just crying for it. The reporter said unless someone claiming to be the owner shows up before Monday it will be euthanized. Poor baby doesn't even get a chance. [:(] [:(][:(][:(][:(]

Did it stay in the garage the whole time? With no food or water??

They didn't say if anyone had set anything out for it. It looked amazingly healthy if it has been without food or water this whole time, especially water - it's been in the upper 90s every dday. They interviewed another neighbor, he seemed like the type who may have put stuff out for it.

Some people are just so stupid!![&:] Now, I do have breeds of dogs that I like more than others, just for my own reasons, but I'm certianly not going to be afraid of a dog just by what breed it is![8|]

I'm going to hug my BLACK dog more than usual.  That poor poor dog.  It must be terrified!!!  My heart goes out to it & I hope it's owners come forth.

Of course, around any unknown dog someone would be a little weary, but the ignorance that people possess really does have such a negative impact on society, and just as importantly, society's pit bulls!

    EDUCATE!

My heart just breaks for this dog, and for all bully breeds.

I adore my pit, and wish I could open my home to all.

And would they not expect the poor dog to be freaking out after an ordeal like that, then having AC slip something around his neck and drag him out???

I'll be crossing my fingers and toes, and the dogs will be crossing their paws that someone shows up for this poor baby.

Did any of them even question why the dog was hiding in the garage? It seems that maybe something traumatic happened to this poor little guy and he was terrified!

He was probably freaked out because of the fireworks[:o].

You know about a month ago a stray very large pit wondered into my backyard.  It came right up to the back door when my husband let our terrier in - Like, "Can I come in?"   He was aparently good with our little terrier.  Before my husband let our dog in, the 2 of them were having pee wars in our back yard. Of course, I wasn't sure how our dog would respond if we let him in or how he would respond to our cats, so after he broked 3 ropes, we kept him in our van overnight.  We took him to our pit friendly shelter the next morning.  From what we could tell he was a great dog.  We'd have kept him if we had more room and a fenced in yard.
