    tuesday grouchorama

Woke up on the wrong side of the bed and everything is irritating me this morning. I can't wait until this week is over.

~ Hands Julie the 2x4 and vodka ~  I don't need it today, at least not yet.

I don't think I mentioned that I adopted Buddy the cat about 3 weeks ago.  Today I am taking him to the vet for whatever is bothering him inside his left ear.

    Not much else for now.

    • Gold Top Dog

Kind of thot Buddy might be staying!

Julie, yeah, I'll join you in the "feeling witchy" Tuesday. Gloomy and raining here today, I'm dragging and have a ton of stuff to do that I'd rather not.

    • Gold Top Dog

I hate feeling grouchy first thing in the morning.  Lucky for me, I'm not feeling grouchy.  Lucky for everyone else too. lol

Tina, hope Buddy's ear issue is minor.  He's one lucky kitty cat. :)

It's only going to get to the low 90's today.  Fall is here.  :)   Our aquifer rose 5' from the rains we've had over the recharge zone.  We only got that one rain of 8/10" but I'm not complaining.  Some areas got 2-3".

Ditto.  Didn't sleep well again last night - I hope I'm not going into one of my insomniac episodes.  There's only so many "I gave birth and didn't even know I was pregnant shows" that I can watch.

Tina:  is the tooth all healed up ??

Deb, I think there is only one stitch left in the area that the oral surgery was done.  I have to go in tomorrow morning for a check, mostly because of the risk of infection where the bone graft was done.  It is still very tender and will take 6 months to fully heal.

Glenda, yeah, after the mass euthanasia of cats a month ago, I knew I couldn't send Buddy back to the shelter.  At age 12, he wouldn't stand a chance.  And I am pretty fond of him.

Jackie, glad you've gotten some rain.  Fall at 90 degrees? Hardy har har...

When I went into the Perio guy for my first check-up after my graft he said "Wow, I'm glad this is healing so nicely".   "I used an experimental grafting agent for the first time on you."    YIKES !!        But in the end, it did heal beautifully and lots of new bone grew in.

Must be in the air!  I tossed and turned all night long, the boys tossed and turned all night long so when I was sleeping they woke me up :)

It was 47 degrees this morning in NWA.  It is supposed to be 80 today then cooler later in the week.  Yes I do think fall is approaching.

It's cool in the mornings....warm in the afternoons....kinda hard to decide what to wear to work so I am warm enough, or cool enough, oh and lets not forget the occasional hot flashes....lol.

Deb, I hope my mouth heals so I can get something in place of where the tooth was.

One of my co-workers asked if I was having an affair with my dentist, since it seemed I've left a lot to go see him.  I told her if I was, I wouldn't be in tears trying to figure out how to pay for all this restoration.

    • Gold Top Dog

I'm glad you got some rain, Jackie! And I'm totally jealous of your 90 degree weather. I just had a cuddle session with a load of laundry fresh out of the dryer because I'm so cold.

(over)Heard from the jano household this morning...

Willa: Daddy, come hide under the blanket in our fort with us!
DH: I'm not going in there! You just farted.

    *shakes head*

ETA: Uggggggggh! I just laid out and formatted a 6-page document, and it turns out they sent me the "unproofed" version of copy. So I need to redo the whole thing.

not grouchy here - overcast again - I could use some sun please Smile

Stayed up way too late watching the Giants - who won despite themselves

Got a late start to taking B to the lake and arrived to find 3 school buses unloading  Sad  Thought ah we'll be fine he isn't that 'into' people.  Which was true.  He was much more interested in the ducks - gulp. And I discovered the ecollar wasn't working Indifferent  Swim now duckie while you are 50 yds away LOL  He attempted to chase them, which got the attention of the students but I diverted him, took him further down the beach area and had a few retrieves.  he wasn't focused and I decided to heck with it - it all felt too risky

So back home and decided my car needed to be cleaned before the beach on Friday - well 2 hours later I am finally done. UGH That kind of altered my plans today so now I am thinking that it is going to be a very long afternoon/evening since I wasted the morning.

Therefore I think I'll have an early lunch and plan on starting 'work' after lunch until whenever

Karen- I'd do the same thing - take 2 hours to clean on a whim.  Then I wonder why I end up late to other things... lol Trying to squeeze too much into a day.

    Lucky kitty, Buddy!

Nothing much to say here - sleeping on a funky mattress so I wake up with cricks and cracky parts in my neck and back.  My shoulder makes an interesting gravel grinding noise when I put my shirt on this morning, too.  Getting old stinks.

Reminds me, I need to get a birthday gift for my niece who turns 7 next week.

Not grouchy --just ... challenged.  I've got the darned cellulitis again and this time the dr. is worried (I was there at 8 a.m) because it's too close to my toes and it can easily go into BONE when it's that close.  (that's 6 weeks *minimum* on IV antibiotics)  So I've got exactly one week to have it greatly improve.  ugh.

I'm also back to the wonderful world of sciatica.  so my chiro appt this morning got bumped by the dr. appt.  But between all the extra hours I've worked Friday, Sunday and today my boss isn't climbing walls.

    But I'm tired already.

Awww Callie - feel better and take care of yourself.

Tina - that's wonderful news about you keeping Buddy. Lucky kitty Big Smile

I had to have a bone graft too and it all healed beautifully. Pricey but worth it to keep my teeth.

I have had the craziest dreams the last few nights. The kind that wake you up in a start and you can't shake it off. Last night I dreamed that I caused a car accident and one of the cars was a cop. Embarrassed

DH is studying for the engineer's test next month and today he gets to go pick up one of the fire engines and take it to the obstacle course and practice. I could tell he was pretty excited.

95ish today and close to 100 on Thursday. Not much of a sense of fall in the air yet.

    • Gold Top Dog

Callie, that's a bummer.  You don't need to be laid up again -  especially not with the holidays right around the corner.

Cathy, that actually sounds like fun ... driving a fire engine through an obstacle course.  This from the lady who looks for parking spaces that aren't between two other cars. Stick out tongue

Isn't this Friday the first day of fall?  That's hard to believe when the temps are in the high 90s with 100 expected on Thursday. Oddly, Max really liked that cheapo crap dog food I got at the grocery store Saturday night because I forgot to buy his regular food on Saturday.  He was like "diz gud stuff, mom.  You ben holdin' out on me."  I got the smallest, cheapest bag I could find (4.4 lbs. for $3.99) - something called "Paws dog dinner."  It smells faintly like cheese which is probably why he likes it so much, so I think I'll just hang onto it for treats.
