I went to the post office at lunch time and overheard this conversation:

A college student (female) filled out a change of address form and gave it to the postal clerk.

Clerk: do you live on south Main or north Main?

Student: I don't know, how do you tell?  It is just down the street from here (the p.o. is on Main).

Clerk: do you live on Main that is south of Broadway or north of Broadway?

Student:  I don't know.  Which way is south?

I love when its sunny and it rains. It feels like fall to day here and I kinda like it.

While the rest of the country had a heat wave we had no summer here L but I am ready for the new year already !

Now off to paint the porch and mark the yard ( with paint ).

I suppose you were laughing at her but I'd have been nodding my head in appreciation of being clueless about north, south...etc.

I had insomnia again last night and feel like my head is full of jello. It didn't help that working from home yesterday was the equivalent of taking a day off in terms of what was waiting for me here. I'm supposed take Monday off and am feeling a little panicked about being caught up by tomorrow afternoon.

I'm going to be working at Grace on Sunday and they're going to have the vet students from UC Davis out there doing castrations on all the male goats and sheep. They asked if anyone was willing to bring a good camera and take pictures...ummmm, I don't think so.

I will admit, I may have chuckled. 

That being said, when I give someone directions, I don't say "head east for 10 blocks, then go south, etc.".  I will say, "take a left here and go for X distance, then turn right."  But I do know how to find south Main by knowing it is south of Broadway.

I never could tell directions either when I lived in SoCA.  I think it had something to do with being surrounded by water no matter which direction I was facing.  After I moved up here it all clicked in and I always know which direction is which - until I get near the ocean again. 

When I finally got unpacked I noticed a little note in my suitcase from the TSA saying that my suitcase was randomly selected to be searched and that they very carefully put everything back in ... except that the little bottle of Tylenol I had taken with me wasn't in there.  Not that I think they're stealing Tylenol, but they really should be more careful about that.  What if it was some med that I had to take every day?? I also had to go through the scanner in San Diego, but it wasn't any big thing, really. Probably better than a very invasive pat down.

Rumor has it we might be getting a Trader Joes here. 

 Very good news Jackie!  I admit I use them less due to being able to get many of our staples at Costco but I love to load up on cheap wine LOL

and they have Charlie Bear beef liver treats for $3.99 

Bugsy seems to feel better tonight - I'm guessing that he's happy to be done with the flagyl LOL

 I find myself wanting to "Like" things here on the forum........and then I remember I'm not on facebook. 

Guys, are you ready to laugh at me? I am leaving for vacation and drove up to BF's parents today, had the car PACKED with things - I had the dog, I had the $300 of groceries and wine I bought for his parents at Trader Joe's, I had things for them from the farm stand, I had extra clothes for when their boxer slobbers on me, I had the extra stuff from my fridge that will go bad while I'm on vacation, had Rascal's leashes, harnesses, water bowls, vaccinations, crate, blankets, extra blankets, probiotics in case he gets stress diarrhea, brand new extra bag of food in case something happens.....

........

....and I forgot my SUITCASE. You know, that thing with all the clothes? The only thing I actually needed for the trip itself, as opposed to the pre-trip bonding with BF's parents?

Everything will be fine, I can borrow/replace/whatever.... but... holy jeepers. I'm too young to be going senile!

There, did that make you feel better?  hahahah.  Just tryin' to make you smile.  I'm sorry how bummed you're feeling, but you are just as accomplished as they are.  One of them is bound to lose their minds and quit their job and then you can scoop it up!  lol  See, more kiddin' with you.  It will happen for you.  How many of them are wishing they had gotten married to a wonderful man more than a J-O-B... just sayin'.  You're all good, kiddo.
