    There goes another weekend chat

Welcome to the work week.  Blech.  The two days "off" really weren't and they just vaporized into Monday.  Must find a way to honor the weekend.

Julie, thanks for sharing the rain!  Actually, I mean that.  Gloomy as all get out, but, we do need the rain.  The garden will be happy.  I'll just be damp all day.

Have stuff to do before and after work, a return coming in at 11, so suppose I'd best get moving.

    Have a great day all!

Glad you got some rain! We had an entire weekend of it which means there will be no relief from the mosquitos. They are brutal. Worst ever so the news says.

I woke up with a bit of a headache today.

Last night was night 1 of lily and abbie being crated again. I dont know how it happened but one of them is totally not housebroken anymore. Anyway, lily woke me up twice to be let out. Eventually i need to start to ignore her cries to go out at night so she learns she has to hold it.

I need to find a dog sitter for next week. What a pain. Then i need another for the weekend after that so i can go help gma.

Glenda, maybe if you allowed yourself to relax for at least one day, you'd feel refreshed.

Thinking of Buffy and Buddy as well as Cathy and Barb today.

If you can spare a thought for an old female Persian cat that came into our shelter, it would be appreciated.  It was so matted it could hardly move and when the vet shaved it, the cat was revealed to be nothing but skin and bones.  Amazingly, it was turned in as a stray -  not.  My DS has to care for it and even he wants to cry.

Some places near me reported close to 7" of rain yesterday.  I was up all night trying to coax Jamison to go out and pee and poop since he was holding it for close to 24 hours due to the rain.  doG forbid he gets wet.  He finally went around 3, but by then it was too late for me to have a drink and too early to get up for the day so I just tossed and turned until it was time for me to hop in the shower.

I need to go out and get skunk-faced with Barb.

ETA:  Does it hurt a dog for them to hold it that long??

I decided to peek with one eye to see how long before I *HAD* to get up and ACK!!!!!  My brand new alarm stopped in the middle of the night.  So I had like 10 minutes to get myself out of the house.  ugh.

I had this incredible, wonderful, tremendous Seiko alarm for like12 years and it died a couple of weeks ago (ever hear of a funeral for an alarm? *sniff*) and this one is just like it.  I may have disturbed the batteries when I 'set' it but dang.  Happy Monday to me!  grrrr

I know the feeling, Charlie's the same way.  He once held it for something like 36 hours...I was even trying to get him to pee in the shower when it finally stopped outside.

I am no expert, but I think if it only happens once in a while it isn't a big deal, but if it happens a lot I would think they would be at risk for a urinary or kidney infection just like humans,  But like I said, no expert here.

Busy Monday - nothing exception except my brother is in town this week with his company's tour.  He is easily Charlie's favorite person in the whole world.  Is annoyed that her nieces keeps whining and complaining on FB about their European tour...seriously Katie you are in fricking Spain, Italy, France and Greece - STOP MOANING!!!

We had a pretty nice weekend, so no complaints here.  Tina, good vibes for that poor kitty.

Deb, don't tell anyone but I've been known to hold a big golf umbrella over Twister so he'll go outside in the rain. lol  We haven't had that problem in a long time, unfortunately.   We got a little rain Saturday night but not enough to make any difference.

It's not even just the rain, Jamison is such a wuss that he won't even walk on the wet grass unless he's busting a gut.

Ha ha.  This sounds like my dog Lenny - he was 1/2 beagle, 1/2 Lab and hated even going out when there was dew on the grass.  It was pretty hilarious watching him try to decide which paw to hold up so it didn't get wet.

Deb, I guess the only solution is to send Jamison here until it dries up there.  He won't have to worry about getting anythng wet in Texas. :(

aaaww, poor kitty.  We had a persian cat that hung around my mom's office for weeks until she saw it looking really badly, so she brought it to the vet next door and after he was shaved down and treated for a cat fight wounds they realized he had a skin fungus, too.  The vet's office nicknamed him Gus, short for Fungus.  Anyway, long story to say I have a soft spot for Persians who are in trouble.  Good vibes for that kitty.

I had a very nice weekend.  Threw a surprise party for one of my good friends and it lasted so long I stayed overnight rather than drive home late at night.  Then I had so much of a good time making friends with new people that I stayed all the way into the evening on Sunday!  Thank goodness my friends who were watching Gracie are so good to her and me that I knew she was in good hands.  I wish I could have taken her with me, but the house had 3 cats and a Shar Pei.  As it was, late Sunday, the owner went to save one of the cats from their Shar Pei and got a nasty cat claw to her bottom eyelid and was millimeters from catching her eyeball.  eek!  We were this close to driving her to the emergency room.

It is a bee-u-tee-ful morning!  Massive storm last night finally broke the weather and was probably low 60's this morning, only supposed to be 82* at noon, ah relief.

AND no workers here until the one guy comes this afternoon, what a relief, silly Bugsy doesn't know what to do with his freedom, he keeps looking for the dreaded baby gate or chair blockade Big Smile  He guided me on a long hunt er walk this morning - he was like the guy on the power sidewalks in the airport busting through everyone clearly in a hurry. Places to go, things to sniff, hurry hurry....

Jamison my friend I have bad news for you, you are a hound, you were bred to work outside, ridiculous I know, but true.  Mother Nature has a whole array of stuff she can throw at you but you see hounds don't mind because they have work to do.  I think you need to channel your inner  hound LOL  Deb i saw some footage of the rain in SI WOW!

DH is installing the lights and towel bar in the bathroom right now - he is giddy with glee.  it looks amazing so he just can't wait LOL By this time next week we should be moved back in to that bathroom.  I've done a bunch of cleaning but there is loads to do before I can sleep in our bedroom again all this dust has destroyed my lungs.  It is very exciting - I can't imagine how happy Nicole must be!

Oh my there is a lovely breeze coming in to the OPEN window.  Open windows in NC in August are truly a treat!

Best wishes for that poor kitty and hope that Buddy and Buffy are doing well this morning

This made me smile...for the first time in 48 hours.

Special prayers to the Persian...poor kitty.

I've started moving out of the Master bedroom.  Rick has hurt me deeply, and I'm not sure I can get past it.  First I was angry, now I'm saddened and hurt by his actions.  And, he doesn't get it.  He said he's sorry...but he doesn't get it.

During his moments of utter disrespect Friday night...he said outloud to his friends..."she'll get over it."

    Maybe I will....maybe I can't.

Poor kitty!  Bad people.  Sending that darlin' girl all sorts of love, good vibes, contented thots and anything else I can think of to throw her way.

Tina, I WISH I could just relax.  When I came down here Saturday it was ONLY to dust and vacume, put things back on the shelves, and once I got going I rewashed the giant front windows AND painted a floor.  Then came back Sunday to hang a curtain just because it was bugging me.  I exhaust everyone who watches me because I simply don't have the ability to just chill.

Bwhahahahahahah !!  Jamison is going to get  a good laugh at this one, Karen.

Barb - make him move out of the bedroom  . . . why should you sleep on the couch or in the guest room when he's the one who did the disrespecting.  Might give him a little more incentive to think about his actions.
