On FB someone has created a group dedicated to "things you remember growing up in San Antonio".  I've been having so much fun reading everyone's memories and adding a few of my own. :)   Oy, I've got to quit wasting time in the past. lol  There is a woman on there with the same name as one of my cousins.  I posted something that referred to her (thinking it was my cousin) and she very politely corrected me.  She probably thinks I'm crazy and she's probably right. lol 

I fixed a turkey breast on the grill yesterday so I would have something to bring for lunch for a few days.  Too bad I listened to DH and his stupid meat thermometer's reading.  I knew it was done but let him talk me into cooking it longer.  Dry.  Very dry.  I couldn't choke it down. Good thing I also brought some yummy potato salad that I made.  Guess what he's having for dinner tonight? lol

LOL, too funny....Ron has his handy dandy little thermometer too.   It is amazing that I have fried chicken all my life without one and yet I still havent poisoned anyone. 

 ugh dry turkey and LOL Ginger that sort of stuff always cracks me up. My DH isn't likely to OVERcook much but if you don't like your beef rare you may have issues with his cooking.  Oh and he only follows recipes, makes me nuts as I am a make it up as I go a long sort of cook, shrugs

I can hear Bugsy's tail thumping in his sleep - I am not sure where he is but it is a very recognizable sound

Gin, I had half a chicken on the grill too and when he started to "test" it, I threatened him with a meat fork. lol  The chicken was perfect. :)   I like beef cooked medium rare and it took me years to get DH to even try steak cooked this way.  lol  His mother cooked everything in a pressure cooker.  I rest my case.

It's Rupert's 7th birthday today! I'll be uploading pics soon, as long as the rugrats don't wake up from their nap early. I also just (finally) switched servers for my website, so I have to re-upload everything. zzzzzzzz

When Rupert wags his tail in his sleep, it's a fast thumpthumpthumpthump. 

My mom and I brought Willa to the fair on Saturday. A lot of people brought their dogs, and Willa got to pet a floppy-eared red dobe *swoon* and a black great dane.

LOL, you should be my age.  Most of the people posting on that page are my age or older.  It's pretty funny to read everyone's attempts to remember certain places and events.

I know, it is cruel to tempt me like this.  I want a puppy, but the timing is just NOT right, especially if my job ends up sending me traveling.  *sigh* .  Gracie was pisspoor timing, too, but at least I wasn't working extra long hours, and certainly not traveling!

Yesterday must've been the day to keep husbands away from the grill. DH overcooked a couple of nice steaks too :(.

We had another "special" Board mtg today. Normally we have them quarterly but because of some changes to our administrative team, we've had extra meetings to deal with appointing people. Our regular Board mtg is Sept. 2nd, so I feel like I'm barely able to catch my breath before I have to prepare for the next one. Oh, and having a meeting at 10 AM on Monday is a horrible idea - blech!

A friend who has been fighting pancreatic cancer and was told she was winning the battle, found out yesterday that her kidneys and liver are failing and she probably has only a week or so to live
