    You mean its Wednesday???

I feel so discombobulated with so much going on - day 3 of reno but I don't have to be here - woohoo!!

I check a word of the day page and today's word is "anserine"

    MEANING:

    adjective:
    1. Of or relating to a goose.
    2. Stupid; silly.

pshaw Bugsy knew anything goose related was silly!

We are on our third week of temps 97-104 with Friday supposed to challenge the record 105.  This is not normal for here and although I know quite a few people on here are used to these temps, I have got to say that if we ever top out at 85* again I will be very happy

OK off to get things ready for the workers and get ready to go to work!

    Be well all!

Pass the 2x4 and the vodka.  Squabbled with DS on the way to work, wanted to push him out of the truck while moving.  He is so pissy in the morning.  I told him if he couldn't say anything nice, then practice keeping his big fat mouth shut.  Thank doG he is leaving tomorrow afternoon until Monday.

JMHO, but Pippa is a dumb name for a human. Good for a dog, maybe.

Karen, stay cool! Going to heat up here, too, but fortunately not over 100 this week. Theoretically.

My Washing Machine of Doom decided to not leak for me anymore, so I guess I'm declaring it fixed? Since the washing machine is now working, my microwave decided to short out the surge protector it's on so now neither my microwave nor toaster can work until I crawl behind the washing machine to replace the plug thing. Haunted appliances!!

I'm riding my bike to work to try and get in better shape, but it is totally kicking my butt. Riding home is fun (downhill) but I'm gasping for breath and sweating like a fool by the time I get in to the office! That's why I come in early, so nobody can see me ;)

Belle - you are so right!  (and pretty darn cute, too)

Isn't Pippa just the woman's nickname?

Oh I hope so! I can't say I really follow the royals... once Prince William got serious with Kate, I figured I had no more chance and backed off to console myself ;)

Yes, she was born Philippa Charlotte - unless Cathy cares to challenge me on this one too.

Like we couldn't see this one coming.

I didn't see it coming but I guess that doesn't surprise anyone. lol   I always feel sorry for the teachers who get classrooms full of kids with the same "trendy" first names.

It's ONLY Wednesday??  Oye!  This week is dragging butt.

Tonite I've got to help DH with one of the stations free concerts, tomorrow nite, the OTHER stations free concert, Friday nite I sorta get off and then Saturday we've got a PAID concert....a Michael Jackson tribute band.  The big boss is on vacation this week so Todd is doing extra duty on the free concert stuff, but he'd do the MJ one regardless.

So......yesterdays storm that didn't seem so horrid to me??  Took down massive trees all over town, snapped power poles in half and made an overall mess of things.  Lots of power outages too.  DS came home and let me know that he'd alerted a Verizon guy and called 911 about a fire in the trees down the road from us from the electrical wires.  That one even charred the power pole.  The radio station lost power for about 4 hours, with a pretty arcing, sparking display from the wires.  They have a back up generator, but, still, that's limited.  He finally came home around 9 and had to go back about 10 because a power surge knocked the boards off.  Sigh.  At least he had time to eat something.

But, before he came home, I had he and DS (out on a call) calling me so often I wanted to turn the phone off.....did the shepherd shuffle alone which is always a joy and of course, soooo quiet, (NOT), and THEN, just as I'm thinking I can grab a few seconds peace and quiet, DS calls and lets me know that the call he went on was about 30 miles ONE WAY further than it was supposed to be, and since he had forgotten his wallet could I please meet him with it so he could get home without running out of gas???  Lovely.  I don't like driving on two lane highways after dark because the roads are incredibly dark and the headlights really blind me......especially given that a lot of people here think BRIGHTS are what they are supposed to use, and add their fog lights in just for good measure.  Plus, I had pretty much guzzled a rather large glass of wine since I hadn't had a chance to savor it......

BLECH FOR TUESDAYS like that!!  Pass the vodka so I can get a start on a better day today!

I find it interesting to watch name trends.  I hope when the time comes I don't name my kid something that becomes "weird" when they're middle aged LOL.

I can't believe how much medical procedures cost anymore.  My colposcopy resulted in $1500 billed, $600 paid.  And she didn't even find anything or even do any biopsies!  The standard pregnancy test alone was billed at $50 and paid at $17, I mean, can't you get one at CVS for like $5?  Boy if that was out of pocket I would be pretty upset.  Oh and my medical insurance is denying some things from my last PCP visit which has already resulted in about 16253 phone calls.  I should bill *them* for my time to clear up such nonsense.

We got part of the floor down last night! Big Smile it wasn't as easy as they make it sound, but it's going OK.  Picture on FB :)  We won't know what to do with ourselves once this proejct is complete!

Ugh... my sister and brother in law are at it again. Then my sister drags my mom into it. Honestly, I think my mom loves it, because she gets to feel like she's the hero. I don't know exactly what's up, she said some dumb crap, he said he'll take my niece. My mom runs up there and smooths it over and she gets to feel like she's the hero. Now she's mad at me because I called her out on it. Umm... the reason my sister knows nothing but arguing as a means to solve problems is that it's the only example we got from our parents. I'm a bit better off because I was taught by other people how to talk. My mom, who as she says my niece would be better off here because there's not arguing and fighting, proceeds to scream at me for saying this to her (thus proving my point). I said they need to take the issues to someone other than my mom, without a vested interest. My mom's been pretending to try to solve it for quite some time, unsuccessfully because she has no interest in doing so.
