Monday mindless chat

Yep, unfortunately it is that darned day.  I woke up sure that it was Sunday.  Drat. BUT, it isn't even 70 yet and our high is supposed to be 75 today.  Humid yes, but supposed to rain on and off all day.  I will surely take that over the horid heat we had for much of last week.  Altho.....supposed to steam right up later in the week.

It was so hot this weekend, that I stayed in the AC and deep cleaned my house.  Now that's hot !!!

He is still having awful intestinal sounds at night and wakes up super early. Apparently the lack of sleep is getting to me because i was out walking this morning and there was a car parked ahead of me, when i reached the car a woman rolled down the window and offered me a cold water bottle and asked if I was OK and would I make it home.  LOL  Now our streets aren't like normal streets with traffic and sidewalks and people parked, the only people ever parked here are laborers or for parties.  it was very odd but did make me slather on extra lotion

off to run errands

 Well, at least she was friendly about it....

Does anyone know a good way to get cheap airline tickets?  Hotels I've been able to find decent prices for, but FH says we can't go unless I can find better flights.  The problem is it was a spur of the moment choice and we really have to go Labor Day weekend if we're gonna go.

That's all I've got for today....hope everyone is finding ways to stay cool.

As for flights, I usually find the best fares on kayak.com or bing.com/travel. Prices can vary a LOT from day to day, so sometimes you just have to keep checking. Good luck!!

Steph, no advice on cheap tickets.  I usually fly Southwest but I don't fly much.

Laughing at Deb's Zumba thread. 

I'm feeling very down and I think it's mostly due to all the bad news locally and world wise.  The Norway thing just boggles the mind.  The starvation in Africa is just horrible.  Here we've got two stories of children who died tragically and needlessly.  Then saw a story about a starving pit bull mama dog.   I swear I just don't want to watch or read the news anymore.

 LOL ladies I think this woman was  bit crazy - I mean good gracious I didn't look that bad (checked when I got home)!  but it was very nice.

Bathroom guys just did some floor cutting (for the shower area) and brought the tub in, talked measurements, confirmed things and are gone - this makes me happy

I ran to the bank and stopped at our Kroger which had kiddie pools last week  all sold out! Poor B's is beyond saving so I went to Petsmart and bought one of those small blue ones, hope he can at least stand in it LOL

Also got him a rubbery squeaky gummy bear toy which he is now sleeping next to, makes me happy

DH has some sort of eye infection so he's off to the doc

Steph the problem with searching for flights is that they track cookies etc so from what I understand you need to clear your cookies before researching.  Try sites like kayak.com for easy searches although I have often gotten the best prices from the airline's sites.

Jackie the world is both an evil place and a beautiful place - it our job to keep balanced and to actively look for good when so much bad is in the foreground.  BTW I completely understand

Karen -- the lady's bubble may be tilted a bit off center, but MAYBE she's just one of those folks who looks for nice things to do for people.

Jackie -- I tend to avoid some news for that very reason -- there's only so much pain I can take in a day.  I don't try to be uninformed but I do try to make sure I only get hit with so much at once because it can keep me in tears all day.  (And honestly, it's one of the reasons why I gravitate to movies like Winnie the Pooh - JUST to see and laugh at the children, rather than one more mystery filled with gore and violence.)

Karen -- the other day I was almost home and there was an older lady with an over-heated radiator.  She was waiting outside of her car (she'd called SOMEONE to come help her).  I went home and got a bottle of cool water and took it back to her. 

Would she have died?  no.  but honestly she'd had enough 'bad' that day -- it was obvious.  And the idea that I "went back" to give her that water simply encouraged her.  That's all I aimed to do.  Maybe the lady today just wanted to encourage you.  Take it where you can get it!!  Heck -- maybe you have a sign over your head that says "BUGSY'S MOM -- BE NICE TO ME!!!!".  *hugs*

I got halfway to work this morning and had to take off my sunglasses because of the coastal clouds that had rolled in. That's a real rarity to see in the middle of summer here but it'll keep it cooler for the next couple days, so that's nice. Unfortunately, it's supposed to heat up again towards the end of the week and into the weekend. I don't care if it is in mid-90s, I think I'll still go out to Grace. I really need that kind of distraction.

I gotta brag on my husband -- he doesn't hassle me because I love cuddley stuffed toys.  He never tries to "change" me.  I love him more now than when we were married.

 So let's see -- I started counting backwards when I was 40 so that makes me 23 today.  'dis is what I gots!!  Does he rock or what?

And yeah -- I *do* still have to use a typewriter occasionally LOL

I'm just running by - had my annual gyn appt. this morning.  I appear normal, but will have to wait for the lab results.  In the meantime, will schedule a boob squish-o-gram, and get blood drawn for cholesterol & glucose testing.  Apparently this is all routine after 40, so let's home none of it will be bad news.
