    Marley and Me

Has anyone read this book? I just finished it last week and wanted to see what other people thought. I just loved the way the author wrote the story. It really made me feel emotions for the family and for Marley. I think a lot of people would be able to relate to this family and the mistakes you make as first time dog owners.

I gave that book to my mom for christmas '05 and she still hasn't read it.  When she's done, I will get to read it...supposedly.

I had the book in my hand this weekend.  I've wanted to read it for a long time and will someday soon.  I needed to pick up a holistic health book (4 Paws, 5 Directions) though and it was $27.99, so I decided I'd better wait to the other book.

I read it and I thought it was cute... major tearjerker at the end.

I received this book for Christmas and read it in abou three days.  I absolutly loved it, somethings I did not agree with though.  It was so sad at the end, but in general a feel good book.

I had the book in my hands several times, but I never bought it. I'll read it one day.

It took me a while to get into it because I am used to quicker reads like James Patterson novels but once I got into this one, I couldn't put it down.  I laughed, I cried, I laughed and I cried some more.  I was finishing the book by the pool on the cruise I was on a few weeks ago and had to stop because I was crying too much near the end :).

I know some people disagree with some stuff in it, but honestly, they did the best they could and were new dog owners and really did care about him and he was a happy dog!

I got this book as a Christmas present, too.  I got about 1/3 way into it and stopped.  I suppose it's a mental block because I have a yellow lab, too, and didn't want to face the inevitable.  Of what I read, it was very well written.  Marley does kind of remind me of Buddy in some ways.

I've seen the book several times, but haven't read it yet.....I suppose I will sometime after I get done reading all the books I am reading now, or that I have in line to read!

I LOVED this book. I asked for it for Christmas and my mom got it for me. It was a great book. Huge tear jerker at the end and very relatable throughout. My parents neighbors now have a lab puppy that looks exactly like Marley on the cover! So cute!

I agree smilee1079, I laughed and cried through the whole book. I have never cried so hard at a book as I did at the end. DH thought I was insane. I just didn't expect to connect with the characters and especially Marley as much as I did. I've been recommending it to everyone I know who has dogs, because every dog owner can find something in the book to relate to. Yeah, they made mistakes, but it's something that everyone can learn from and no matter what, I think Marley had a great dog life! [:)]

I was full on sobbing at the end of the book. My face was puffy and my eyes were bloodshot. I also laughed throughout the entire book because I could totally relate to it. I gave it to my mom to read after I was done and about noon on a workday I got a phone call from her that scared the crap out of me. I thought something had happened to my brother or Ash or something. Her voice sounded like that. I asked her,"Mom, what's wrong? Why are you crying?" She says, through a choked voice, "Marley . . . . I can't believe you had me read this book! Marley!!!" [:D] I edited it a little for those who haven't read it, but you can imagine.

This was the best book I have read in 2 years. It's not just about learning about dog experiences it's a touching and heart felt story of a man who loved his dog no matter how unruley he was. The ending was sad to say the least it brought back memories of my girl I lost last year from CRF. I cried like a baby but it was over due since I haven't cried in a long time. I believe tears wash our souls. If you haven't read this book you need to ASAP! I'm enclosing a pic of my girl before we had to let her go on Oct. 18th 05 She smiled until the day we had to let her go...

I borrowed it from the library and read it in about a day.  It was a fast read.  I liked the story and I cried at the end.  I think they did they best they could with Marley, many other owners would have given up.
