You all must think I need mental help (which I might) because this has just really rocked me, it really does feel like the straw that broke the camel's back

You must be kidding. Really? Us? I think the majority of us would be feeling just like you. In fact, even though Bugsy isn't mine, I feel rocked by this too. I've been there and I know how devastating this can be. I woke up thinking about you guys and will be thinking about you all day...and for days to come.

I'm tired and don't feel like going back to work today. I feel like when I was a kid and the whole idea of going to school just seemed really depressing. So much going on right now that has me feeling blue but staying busy at work will probably be a good thing. Time to get ready to go.....but first, more coffee.

Lisa I am so sorry to hear about Riley's ankle - she deserves to be over and done with arthritis!!  But great news on the speech therapy.

I just posted an update in Bugsy's thread - he's out of surgery.  He's waking which is good but the tumor news wasn't the best, I'm going to leave any full information to that thread.

Lisa, I am glad to read the speech update about Riley.  Bummer about the arthritis, but I know you are doing the best for her.

I just finished one of the Amex statements, now onto the other mountain of invoices.  Just wanted to check in about Bugsy.

thinking of Bugsy and Karen (((hugs))) all morning long.  Lisa -- I've been using something new for my own arthritis -- I emailed you.

    flooring after flooding:

You probably won't want wood -- that really IS trashed by flooding.  Cement that is sealed and kept painted is easiest.  And then carpeting you can ROLL UP  is often easiest -- not wall to wall, but something removable and cleanable -- you probably need something down for warmth tho (and yeah, I've lived thru major flooding more than once - this is from experience)

If I get any crankier today, I might break a world record.

I'm officially opening the Tiki Bar and if anyone has a problem with that, they can talk to the management.  yeah, that bitchy.

What can I getya?  **wiping off bar**  Peach Margaritas are the house special today.  Followed by a shot of tequila.  Game?
    • Gold Top Dog

Barbara -- I remember there is a STORY about you and peach margaritas!!  I'm in line *behind* Jackie (I know where to be!!) but when you get a minit I'd love a whole pitcher of red sangria and lots of ice (and oranges in mine please!).  And ... put Jackie's on my tab -- she deserves a break.

And Karen??  We'll take hers to her on a tray!  (I'd say it's party time, wouldn't you all?)

And Deb -- did Gina give ALL the Grey Goose to the swan yesterday???

Followed by a shot of tequila

I'll take two shots and skip the fruit drinks.  Fruit just takes up valuable space in my glass.  Thanks, Barb, I can always count on this place to make me feel more human and less like a dragon whose treasure is threatened. lol

thanks ladies - he's probably in surgery now - won't be able to pick him up until after 5 - long day ahead

long hot day ahead - two more days until we have AC back

not much else to say - my desk has what feels like a million *urgent* things to do but I just can't right now.  Might take a nap and then get to work

I know it has rocked your world, I feel your pain.  Keep your chin up.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Oh, Sangria sounds yummy and brings back wonderful memories of a vacation in Spain. I remember drinking by the pool and this blaring on the sound system:

I feel better just thinking about such a happy time...Big Smile

OH GAWD HELP US.....the thought of all ya'll drunk both scares me AND excites me!!!  Stick out tongue  hehe

I start 14-16 hr days tomorrow...if everything goes as planned.  Yeah, i suffer from workaholism!  Is there a 12 step program for that?

Anywho, was gonna go fishing today but soooooo glad i didn't.  It started raining so hard here i was afraid of drowning.  Some of the biggest rain drops i think i ever saw.

    (((KAREN & BUGSY)))

I've been thinking about Karen and Bugsy all day while patiently waiting for my 'puter to quit throwing tantrums and let me on.

Mindy, I definitely go along with the "no carpet and no wood" suggestions.  Callie had a great idea - cement floors.  When I first heard about them I sort of pictured them looking like someone brought a sidewalk or a driveway inside, but I've seen them on HGTV and they're gorgeous.  Also, there are ceramic floor tiles and those pretty Mexican tiles.  Good sized area rugs aren't all that expensive any more.  I got DS and his SO an 8 X 10 at Home Depot for $117.

All you guys that are being impacted by  this heat wave, try to stay cool and hydrated. I know ... easier said than done.  I heard on the news last night that something like 40 states had "dangerously high" temps and that can't be good.

Ummmm...congratulations? Seriously though, I know you're excited and I'm happy for you. Even if there was a 12 step program, workaholics would be too busy to attend, right? Stick out tongue

this is one place where I am still lower than novice -- all you really have to do is TELL me that something is alcoholic and it would probably work.  But seriously -- I'm just wanting it for its relaxant properties and the fruit juice is just to get the wine down.  I'm just a cheap date that way I guess *rubbing toe in dirt*

We have AC back. The Monstresses came alive after 48 hours of continuous napping. I won my challenge of keeping the house below 95, just got to 91 which was bad but bearable.

Hope ya'll enjoyed your visit to the Tiki bar;  I guess I am a cheap date too because a couple glasses of wine is all I need and can take.

Keeping Bugsy, Karen & Mr. Karen in my thoughts.
