I have to work until noon and then off until next Tuesday !  Spending the afternoon at the zoo before seeing Indigo Girls in concert there. It will be a perfect eveing for an outdoor concert.

Really frustrated with work but otherwise all is well.

I'm going dress-up (work) clothes shopping in a bit (ugh!) and because I am so horrible at it and I get overwhelmed very easily (and then start to cry), I'm bringing a friend who teaches fashion design, etc. at the college. She knows what she's doing and she knows me. She gave me some "homework"--ideas with pictures to think about and they were all what I would wear. Now, it's finding the stuff!  But, she's good at that, too. We're going to a big mall...I wonder if I'll need some valium.

It's supposed to cool off a but here, but it hasn't yet.

Kate, I'm with you on the dressing/shopping.  Skip the valium and go straight for the vodka.

Kate, I'm right there with you on clothes shopping, especially dress-up clothes.  It's great you've got a friend with such skills to go with you.  If I drank before clothes shopping, I'd end up skipping the whole thing. lol 

Not much new around here today.  Hot and humid and busy at work.  Today is Gabby's gotcha day but I really like Kate's phrase better and it's more descriptive.  Found ya, day.  lol 

Karen, I had a great idea last night about your a/c.  Until you can sell enough plasma to get it fixed or replaced, tie a fan to Bugsy's tail.  That should create quite a breeze. :)

Kate - I gave up about a year ago -- found a place online that I like to order stuff from for me and never looked back!  I react to malls the same way.

Jackie -- I'm not surprised Ms. Gabby is so fond of you -- you were the one to find her and get her into her better life.  You're "stuck" with all that unconditional love, Jackie -- it's a great thing to be stuck with!

Started my day by killing a wasp's nest out my back door.  I sprayed it yesterday so now they've started 6 little nests all over the roof of my back awning.  ugh

Temps are going to be 95 today instead of 105 whooohoo!  May even get a sprinkle or two. 

Karen I feel for you...our AC is still broke.  We have 2 small window units to keep Ron and the boys cool during the day but it only cool 2 rooms soooo  I am gonna have to get creative.   Since it is a heat pump....that means I have to come up with the money for a replacement before winter.  Yuck, been thinkin about hangin out on the corner, under the street light, at the retirement home, lol!

My Granddaughter is home on leave til the 23rd.  We got a message from her last night.  She is going to spend some time with her Mom and Sis and we should see her in the next few days.  Thanks so much for all your thoughts and prayers going her way and to all the men and women protecting our right to be free.

Great news!  I am sorry to hear that your a/c is still broken. :(   You know if I can be of any help from here, I'm happy to give you my two cents of advice.  You could probably earn enough for you and Karen to get new units if you work it right at the retirement home.   I get lots of attention from the elderly men I encounter.  I can't imagine why they don't flirt with women their own age.

2 different opinions agree that there is more than one problem and it would be more cost effective to get a new unit....easy for them to say, ha!  I will call on your expertise once I figure out where the money is gonna come from.  If I had a cow...I would sell it,lol.  I have a couple of ideas but need to think them through.  I did submit an application for the $50,000.00 energy makeover our Electric co-op has every summer.  Winning vibes out there anyone?

Deb, I love fries, crispy and golden on the outside...soft on the inside.  Never heard of that garlic dipping sauce stuff, but I love garlic anything so I would prolly love that.  I dont usually put anything on my fries but a little salt.  I actually try to steer clear of fries cause I do love them so much I dont know when to stop.. Ocassionally I do have a carb attack and must have them!

It's like a garlicky mayo.  I absolutely detest ketchup and would rather stick needles in my eyes than eat it, so I usually do mayo on my burgers and fries.  I know it sounds gross, but try it sometime !!

Really? Detest? I can't think of any food I detest but that's why I was such a chubbo when I was younger. I adore french fries and I agree that mayo is much better for dipping than ketchup.

We have some training going on here all day, so I ordered pizzas for everyone. I really have tons of work to get done but it's going to have to wait until tomorrow.

It's so cool this morning that I almost wore a long sleeved shirt. It's supposed to reach 80 though, so I decided not to. Our avg temp for this time of year is 94, so these 80s are a nice surprise and the 50s at night make for great sleeping weather.
