Finally Friday chat

    Finally Friday chat

Ahhhh.  This has seemed like an incredibly long week, so thankful that it's finally Friday.  Unfortunately, I had to wake up to get to Friday and my old body would still like to be snoozing.

Tina, I hope you have a red, white and blue BLAST this weekend.

For a long weekend, ours is rather committed.  Will go keep Todd company tomorrow at a remote, then Monday we have to be at the station at (gulp) 8 am for the parade....biggest parade of the year so........and today, I just have to tie up the week at the office, so might actually be able to make it a shortish day.  If that happens, then I'll have time to weed in the veggies.  Here's hoping that I find the energy somewhere as well!

Have a great day everyone.  For those of you who won't be back, have an awesome weekend.

Catch ya'll later at the Tiki bar!

Thanks, Glenda.  I'm so thrilled to get away from home for a few days I'll be okay with a simple, pleasant visit.

Buddy the cat will miss me, but he'll be okay.  Funny how attached he got to me so quickly.  We've only made a half-assed effort to re-home him since the first prospective family fell through.

I hope everyone has a safe, relaxing weekend.

    You said it!

Got in at 5 this morning so I get to leave at 10:00!  Whoo hoo!  DH and I have a wine and cheese date tonight.  Double whoo hoo.

Trying to get *my* swap box out this morning.

We really don't have anything to do this weekend (that's not a bad thing!! REST) except I have to take my Cruiser in to have a bulb changed and get serviced.

The bright spot is Give Kids the World tomorrow morning!!  That always makes the weekend great!

The collection of brilliant jackmoneys running the state of MN could not get there act together......so Minnesota is officially CLOSED.  Don't come to visit, don't get sick, go to the zoo or the race track, don't visit a state park, don't buy a lottery ticket, don't try to get a license of some sort....

This is stupid.  Michelle Bachman and Tim Pawlenty being presidential candidates is stupid.

I don't have much going on.  Sunday and Monday off.  Fishing with some girlfirends on Sunday.  Family coming over Monday for food and to see pics of the trip.  I'm not done sorting them yet, much less any sort of editing.  I have not even touched the video.  Expect a feature length film when I'm done !

Rick and I are thinking of going to see a movie tonight...Larry Crowne.  Looks to be pretty good.

A friend of ours is throwing a party at our house on Sunday!  LOL  Last Friday, we were at the same party (at the local bar) and she brought up having a party at our house, because we have a pool.  I said, don't you have a pool at your house?  She said, "yeah, but your house is so much nicer."  LOL.  So, all week she has been happily busy planning a party.  OK...I'm looking forward to it, and no doubt would not have done it had she not been planning it.

She's bringing food, red white and blue cupcakes, making jello shots; and even wanted to go to Party City to get decorations.  I nixed the decoration idea, and she seemed a little bummed.  LOL

I think everyone needs their very own Party Coordinator.  Big Smile

Sigh...why do some people think it's OK not to give more than a few days notice before a visit, when they knew weeks ago?  I can't say no because it's my elderly MIL who would really love to see her newest great grandson...it's her other DIL, because that's the way she works.  And she's hoping my daughter's family can come up from FL as well.  That means 10 people for meals...5 staying here!

My carpet desperately needs cleaning, but of course it's a holiday weekend.  I did my groceries yesterday, and of course it is all the wrong things now.

I'll never be able to do things the way I would like to...my back won't take it!  Sigh, again!

I want to see Larry Crowne too.  Let us know how you like it, Barb.  Have fun at your party.  I'll be arriving early to taste test the jello shots and cupcakes. :)

I better get back to work.

Barb, from yesterday, congrats on the house!!!

Marty, can you suggest going out to eat? I would be super annoyed if I were you.

Saw Midnight in Paris last night - it was soooooooooo cute! Definitely recommend it. Not as "chick flick"-y as I had thought it would be, but definitely a feel-good kind of movie.

Edit: I hate chick flicks, so it not being chick flicky is definitely a good thing in my book :-p It was a nice balance between fun and having a good story.

Mindy I hear you - NC has made some brilliant moves with the current budget too - and the MN pres candidates, shudders.

OK I have CRAMPS today - need to take something pronto

Bugsy is nuttier than usual today - I looked outside and he was staring at and jumping up at crows that were flying overhead - fool

OK need to get some stuff done with the hopes of a early finish!

Tina have a blast this weekend :)

I love wine and cheese...may have to do that sometime this weekend.

One of my American Flags (on a 40' pole) flew off the pole in the latest wind early in the week so it broke the rope and it is not the easiest thing to re-string.  Gonna have to ask the neighbor if he will bring the tractor w/the bucket down so I can put a new rope on.  I cant stand not having my flag up especially this weekend

Other than that I will enjoy playing in the yard, and trying to keep cool.

Hope everyone has a wonderful 4th.  Prayers and thanks to our Service men and women!

Yes on the TGIF and jello shots sound great to me. Too many jello shots and cupcakes tho...not a good combo Ick!

I'm very much looking forward to a 3 day weekend but wish it weren't going to be in the 100s. Maybe I'll catch up on some reading and just chill out. I went to bed at 9:30 last night and didn't get up until 6:30 and I still feel tired, so a bit of rest will be nice.

I have a sinking feeling that we're going to need to help Buffy over the bridge soon. DH is still in denial about it but last night, she really struggled to get up a few times. He wasn't home to see it but I think he would've realized how bad she's getting. I went and took a bubble bath and cried at the thought... Sad

Wow, just wow.  Sister#2 and I just had a talk.  She wanted to talk about "relationships."  That's how she prefaced it in an email.

Turns out that the bottom line is she wants to have visibility to Mom's bank accounts, now that the house sale proceeds have been deposited.  Indifferent  WTH!!  I've been taking care of my Mom for years (not her, not Sis#1).  Me.  I've been managing her finances for 4 years now.  And, all of a sudden, now that there is a mildly substantial deposit, she wants (as pressured by her husband and colleages) to have access to the accounts.

I am utterly offended by this.  My first thought is "Cook You," both of you.  I've been managing just fine for years, without your input.

After having thought about it...fine...maybe I should give her visibility.  I have nothing to hide.  Mom's money is for Mom.

But, Wow...remove the dagger from my heart, that this is even brought up.  Bottom line is trust.

I need the 2x4 and a seat at the Tiki bar.
