    Tuesday Talkie Talk

I am up earlier than usual, and trying to put that time to good use by doing a bit more laundry.  Oh, and I painted my toenails last night and I don't like the color this morning, so I'll re-do those.  Gee, how mindless do I sound this morning??

So, what are your plans for July 4th Weekend (if you're an American celebrating our independence?)  My friends are going out of town starting Sunday, so I'm watching their dog for them.  One of my BFF's has a birthday on Saturday, surprise courtesy of her boyfriend, so I'll go to that.  Next week is the Ultralight Fly-In near here, so there's that to look forward to. :)

I am going to my guy friend's for the weekend.  I'm not sure what's on the agenda, but he has been bugging me to go flying with him (he has a private pilot's license).  I get motion sick, not to mention I'm a little scared, but......I picked up some Dramamine and told him I'd be willing to give it a try because I know he'd like sharing that with me.  I haven't been in a small plane since I was about 6 or 7 and even then, I was scared, but loved it once we got in the air.

Please send "easy surgery" vibes for my co-worker's wife who is having knee surgery tomorrow to remove a benign tumor (for the 2nd time).

I hope all is well with Sarah (boneyjean) today.  I think she said she's being induced if Cooper didn't try to make a break for it sooner.

well I've had a full morning already http://dailyzoomie.blogspot.com/2011/06/multi-tasking-in-morning.html

this cartoon feels awfully familiar http://www.gocomics.com/marmaduke/2011/06/27

    sorry for the links

Tina have fun and I am sure that once you are in the air you will love the flight - I'm envious!

Nothing exciting planned here - most people go away for the weekend so it is always quiet.

Sarah posted on FB it was a great day for a baby so I guess it is today Big Smile

I need to finish this journal article prior to anything else this morning, so off I go

Sarah good vibes coming your way!

We will stay home for the weekend.  We love having 3 days at home.

Hope everyone has a good day!

We have a long weekend on the other end (Canada Day Friday) - how cool is that that we all get a long weekend!  Not too many plans. Probably take the dogs to some festivities, see the fireworks, and I hear there's a bonfire in the works at a friend's house as well.

I've got dog treats baking in the oven, laundry ready to go out on the line, a roast in the slow cooker, and my lesson plan for tonight is ready to go. All by 10:30am!! That just means.....I get to spend some time out on the deck in the sun this afternoon because it's going to be a HOT one!! Finally, two days in a row with no rain (okay - it poured overnight, but that's okay with me!).

I have an all-schnauzer group class to teach tonight - how cool is that? They are a neat group, our first night was last week, and I'm sure will do awesome!

weekend?  Hoping David doesn't have to work ... and maybe a movie.  We've got some room re-arranging to do this weekend so that's probably about it.  This is Florida - it's too hot to *do* anything this weekend LOL.

OMG, our photographer-friend got us the CD with the pics from the wedding on it. We told him not to focus on the fussy shots and to make sure he got lots of everyone having FUN - and he sure did. Think the ending credits to "The Hangover". None are too appropriate for facebook but I am going to upload to a separate photobucket later today & will share the login info through PM or email if anyone is interested :)

Tina, my grandpa had a little plane my whole life, and I'd flown with him since I was small enough to require a carseat in the plane :P and I still never enjoyed it. I would tolerate it - he'd NEVER drive down to see us, so when we'd spend summer vacation or anything with him he'd fly down to pick us up. But it is really nice of you to try it for his sake :)

No plans here for July 4th - DH will have to work until at least midnight if not later. People think it's a good idea to shoot off fireworks when it's dry as a popcorn fart around here *sigh*. Not to mention the enormous amount of litter it leaves on our beach - it's heartbreaking to go down there the next morning - and that all the lights and noise tend to disorient the poor sea turtles who are nesting right now. I always worry about DH when he works on the 4th because people are SO drunk and when the 'sand pig' comes to take all of their (illegal) fireworks they tend to be less than thrilled. Last year I think he was home by 4AM.

BUT it is DH's birthday on Sunday so we're having his party tomorrow :) Just a few friends for a cookout & fishing/kayaking etc. I'm making pulled pork & pulled chicken so I need to go start getting busy!!

Tina, I hope you enjoy the flight.  I'm a terra firma type of gal.  When I was a kid, one of my uncles had a small plane and he took us on a flight to a different town one time.  I was too young to be scared and was mostly entranced with the toilet and where the contents went when you flushed.  I believe the kids on the plane must have spent more time in the bathroom giggling than looking out the windows.  The flight experience was wasted on us. lol

Karen, I thought my mornings were crazy but as usual, Bugsy has my four dogs trumped when it comes to morning craziness.  lol

We have no special plans for the 4th.  Fireworks have been cancelled due to the drought, thank goodness.  Of course, many here are very upset and don't seem to "get" that what seems like innocent fun can turn into a disaster with one stray spark.

My friend from TN is coming to visit so it will be nice to see her again.  She's bringing Chigger (Twister's half sister) and there will be much face kissing and wiggling.  Chigger will be excited too.  Wink

Busy around here in the mornings with the phone ringing and the guys calling in for their first service call.  I really don't know how they work in this heat, day after day.  My hat is off every summer to our guys and all the people who work outdoors in such hot weather.

Jackie - that's too funny but totally understandable.

Tina - I hope you have a great time this weekend and a safe flight with your friend.

Thinking good thoughts for Sarah and Cooper today. Can't wait to see pictures of the new little man.

DH was really down last night after going to the funeral for the coworker's 7 y.o. son yesterday. Understandably, it was a pretty emotional service. I think it's pretty cool that there were about 200 firefighters that showed up in uniform and they had 4 trucks or engines there and the sheriff's helicopter circled above for a bit. They even transported the casket on the engine to the cemetary, just like they do with a fallen firefighter Sad

Since it's supposed to be 100+ this weekend, I doubt we'll do much more than stay inside or in the pool.

Tina, my dad had a tiny plane for a while. I never went up in it with him because I was scared (not just the plane, but also him flying!) and it STILL really bums him out. I think your guy friend will really appreciate you going up with him, even just once. What kind of plane does he have? Try to get some pics for us :)

I'm feeling stressed outttt today! Trying to set up my weekend plans. I'm driving to CT, picking up the boxer-in-law from boarding, visiting with BF's grandmother, and "spending the weekend" with a good friend from CT, except that maybe I will also try to see other friends? I hate social politics. I love everyone, I don't want to have to pick and choose between friends!

In horsey news, I might have found a barn I like around here... I've been to about 5 within the last few weeks. I *love* the facilities at this one, but the horses may or may not be quite low-end, and the trainer may or may not be crazy. Time for further investigation!

He leases a Cessna-type 4 seater.  Jackie, you'd be bummed because there is no bathroom!

I figured if I do something he enjoys, then I will be able to drag him to something I like in return.

I've been a big 'fraidy cat most of my life, so am attempting to try new things once in a while.

    Good vibes for Sarah!

Tina - Good vibes for your co-worker's wife

Meg - would love to see the photos - I love looking at pics!

Tina - My brother and his wife both have their pilot's licenses - I have never been up since the timing never worked, but would love it.  I would be totally freaking scared, but I love that type of thing.

This week is going pretty good.  This weekend I think I will take Riley to see Cars 2.  She loved the first one so I think she will like it (more like sit through the whole thing).  My mom decided that two weeks is enough to recover from knee replacement surgery so she's having a BBQ at her and my dad's house for the 4th.  Yeah, she's dillusional.  So I will be heading over there Saturday morning to do all the cooking prep while my dad cleans.

I started eating better yesterday - need to shed some of this winter fluff.  Yeah, this sucks but needs to get done!

    Take care everyone!

Meg - I forgot to mention that I'd love to see all your wedding photos.

Cita - I sent you a friend request on FB. Not just so you can view the pony video but just cuz Big Smile. Good luck with finding a barn and trainer you like.

All day admin meeting starting soon...Sleep

     I wanna see pics!!! :D

Tina - have fun flying, I think that would be kinda cool, but I'd probably be scared too.  I've flown a fair amount but never on a small plane

hmmm, and everything else I was gonna say....gone.

oh!  Right! 4th of July.... we're taking a motorcylce ride to Philly on Saturday.  We were supposed to go on the 11th of June for FH's birthday, but it called for rain that never happened.  So we rescheduled.  We're excited but he's a little bummed b/c most of the people who were going to come for his b-day now aren't coming.  *Sigh* we have pretty flaky friends, so this common, but it still stinks.

AAAAAAaaaannnnnddddd, on the 5th of July his divorce can go BACK to the judge and maybe actually get accepted/approved this time around.
