My Co-worker is BAD for me!!!!

There is a woman I work with who is an animal nut.  She has something like 12 dogs, and an untold number of cats.  I haven't even worked there a month, and she has offered me 2 dogs that she has taken in from the streets.  The first was easy to say "no" to, as he is a JRT, and I have no desire for one of those little guys (no offense, they just have too much energy for me).  This lastest one though, has me thinking....He's young, not quite a year.  He seems to be about Sally's size, and she descibes him as a "coon dog."  Apparently he doesn't make much noise, and get along with other animals.

DH is appaled that I'm even thinking about it....

Oh I do hope we can see pics of him/her? Best of luck in your decison. It's not easy saying No.

I'm concidering going to go and see him.  I want to see how he interacts with the other dogs she has (she has 1 German shepard, several terrier mixes, and a buttload of beagles).

I think I'll know for sure if I see him.

Just remember that a coonhound is high energy as well.  And they have beautiful voices that they're not afraid to use.  [:)]

She said that he is pretty quiet, but with beagles and terriers in the house that could be relative!

I wasn't expecting to get another pet and look what happened to me. It can happen to you, too.

Save your money for that house.  Then you can take in all the dogs that city's dog law will allow you to take in.  You'll save more doggy lives in the long run.

Well, after much thought, I have decided not to get the dog.  DH is very against having a second dog in our apartment, plus we have a good routine going with Sally, and I just feel like this is not the right time.

    I feel bad though.....

Christina, I think you made the right choice.  Wait until you get into your dreamed of house & then save, save, save those dogs!
