when we decided that we were looking, i was searching petfinder and every time i came across a name i liked, i wrote it down. by the time i went home with lucas' info printed out, i had a pretty long list of names to go with it. cooper won and hopefully someday i'll be able to convince dh that he NEEDS a sister named carley.

All Dogs Heaven

BlackJack ~ (border collie/keeshond mix) because he's black, and Vickie's father worked as a police officer
Jerry ~ (JRT) named after my FAvorite football player, Jerry Rice
Buddy ~ (sheltie/cocker mix) because my son always wanted a dog named "Air Bud" after the movie dog, and upon begging me to keep him after we rescued him, this was the name he decided on
Emma ~ (golden eskimo) because she's such a sweetie, and her little feet look like she's wearing slippers, and Emma just seems like a sweet/cozy name
Angel ~ (Emma's baby) because when he was born we had to revive him, work on him for 1 1/2 hrs to help him take his first breaths and feed, and he must have been watched by the angels, because he survived & he's just GREAT!

Our Rescues:

Joey ~ (cocker spaniel) because he's cocker, like "joe cocker"... not too original but it's cute anyway
Reese ~ (one of Emma's litter, Angel's sib) because he's the color of peanut butter... his nickname "Reeses Peanut Butter Pup"
Tag ~ (another sib) because when he was tiny he used to hop and "tag" his sibs and then hop away, like "tag! you're it!!"
Scout ~[font=verdana][size=2] (another sib)[/size][/font]
Nike ~ (another sib) because he had these little eyebrow-looking marks over his eyes that looked like the Nike swoosh
Leo ~ (another sib) because he was the first born of Emma's litter, and he seemed so stubborn as he went to crawl to start nursing
Solo ~(another sib) because she was the only girl from Emma's litter
Winnie ~ (pom mix) because she looked like a li'l pooh bear
Rocket ~ (bc maybe mix) our newest rescue puppy... because he was found/saved on Independence Day
Amber ~ (beagle) because she's got amber color'd spots
Teddy ~ (lab mix) because he looked like a li'l teddy bear
Jet ~ (lab mix) because he's Jet black
lol and i'm tired now... so that's all for now!!!

amelia had her name already when we adopted her, and we didnt want to try to change it. also, we thought the name fit her.

sydney also had his name already from the humane society, but he was so young he didnt really respond to it. my wife liked the name so we kept it. but i call him "little buddy" so much that it could be his unofficial name.

For Cassidy, I looked up a whole bunch of dog names online, and then wrote down the ones that I liked best. Then our family voted on the names. I had liked the name Cassandra too, but my mom didn't like it, and now I'm glad I picked a name that's not so feminine as that. It was between Cassidy and Shadow, and I still like the name Shadow.

Mirelle came with her name already, I like it though, it's unusual but pretty [

] She was already named because she's a service dog puppy; I got her from an organization and will raise her until she's about 1 1/2.

I don't know how our old dog, Sadie, got her name, that was quite a long time ago.

I named a dog I used to have, Sparky, she came from an animal shelter. I don't like the name now, but I was just a kid when I named her that [8|]

KaraAnn : your spreadsheet sounds just like something I would do. I love to be organized! DH is my opposite, and he would likely refuse to use a spreadsheet if I made one. At least DH and I balance each other out! [8D]
