Wheeee...the sun is out this morning. I'm not sure how long it'll stay out but it sure it nice.

Sad to see so much damage and lost lives from more tornadoes. My friend mentioned that hurricane season has officially started in Florida too. I sure hope we don't see this pattern of severe weather carry over in that direction.

For a week or 2 we had a male and female duck coming around our front yard and also taking a swim in our pool in the evening. I haven't seen the male duck in a week or so but the female makes a regular visit in the evening. She just flies straight in and lands in the pool, glides back and forth and then flies off Big Smile

The Special Board mtg we're having tomorrow has gone from just a short meeting to appoint the new director to messy and complicated Super Angry

I'm thinking of taking Monday off to use up some vacation time but the weather forecast shows rain for Sunday and Monday. As much as I love time off, I'm worried it'll just make me depressed to spend 2 days hanging out inside.

That's just what I was thinking - enjoy it while we have it because I suspect it's going to be short lived.  CBS starts the news at 4 p.m. and wraps it up at 6:30 and yesterday the entire 2-1/2 hrs. was devoted to local weather.  Really?  I know it's unusual to have thunder and lightening and funnel clouds in the valley and pouring rain in June, but isn't there anything newsworthy going on anywhere else in the world??

If you haven't already read it, go over to General Chat and read the haiku Karen posted.  It will have you rolling on the floor.

    Joyce

Joyce, you should be in Michigan when a snowflake hits the ground.  There's hours of coverage because, you know, we never get snow here. Hmm

The Staples delivery driver called about 25 minutes ago from less than a half block away because he couldn't find our office.  He was at the intersection of the nearest cross street and you can see our office from that corner.  He is still not here.  I think he may need to transfer to a different department.  It is not as if this town is very big.

Cathy and Joyce, I hope your weather stays decent for a few days and maybe it will eventually get warmer.

I'm really chapped right now.  We take care of the a/c for some Senior Centers that are operated by the city.  I got a call from one of them that they had no a/c and it was unbearable.  I pulled a tech off another job which is something I rarely do but the thought of the older folks sweltering in the heat was my reason.  When the tech arrived he found that the temps in the buidling ranged from 71 F to 73.  WTH!  It seems that one of the women who works there thought it felt "muggy" and she's the one who called.  Angry  Yes, I did call her supervisor.

On a happier note, the office sparkly clean gal came today and we're all sparkly clean.  Big Smile

Lady, your hot flashes do not constitute and emergency for Jackie's company.  Hmph.

    LOL!

Our A/C has been out at the house....still out.  Our poor A/C guy has been trouble shooting but we have some you might say...vintage..equipment and he is having a little trouble finding parts.  I have a window unit in hubby's room so at least he can keep cool.  Of course the furry boys must keep watch over hubby, lol, which means lounging in the room with the A/C   My boys are on the job!!! LOL!~

    • Gold Top Dog

Tina, that's exactly what I was thinking!  I should have been sympathetic if it's a hot flash thing but my thoughts were get a grip lady and look at the temperature inside and maybe get a clue. lol

    • Gold Top Dog
I lose my ability to sympathize when it is blatantly obvious that people don't use their brains before they shout "the sky is falling!".

Mooooooannnn, groan....pee, poop, darn and heck!  I figured on 2 1/2 - 3 hours in the office today, confirming deadbeats, making quick calls, typing up collection letters and getting said letters in the mail.....I got part of the list finished and then the main office called with another bloody Gold Guarentee to process.  Oh how I HATE those darned things.  On a positive note tho, I got all the documents collected, including what I needed from the client AND he had his bank fax the cancelled check directly to me, stuff is copied and ready to be Fed Ex'd out tomorrow.  What can I say?  I'm good.  Oh, but, going through 8 trillion docs is not my favorite way to spend SIX hours!

I still wanna play in the dirt, so guess I'm going to have to rush down and do some speed planting since I'll have to go get DH in about an hour.  Dinner?  He can order takeout!  LOL!

My gypsy grandma would give us kids shots of whiskey with black pepper when we were sick.  The pepper opened up your sinuses and the whiskey put you to sleep.

Did you watch the special episode of My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, Deb?! It was WONDERFULLY horrible.

I did lots of wedding crap today, blah. Is it wrong that I got my dual "maids of honor" nicer presents than I got for the other bridesmaids? The same THING, just a little bit nicer? I hope Bailey's mom's grandma is OK and that the trip isn't ruined!

Gin, my AC is out too, blah.

Jackie, I'm glad you snitched on that lady! Poor oldies sweating it out, that's just mean.

    • Gold Top Dog
Give me the ladys name and addy and i will go strangle her for you. That is just wrong!

The new job is going great. Im really glad i took this position. It feels right. It is exhausting though. Theres so much to learn that my brain is pretty mushy by the end of every day.

I have to go to dc in aug. Looking forward to that. I have never been so i plan on taking some extra days to visit the museums and such. Anyone want to make it an idog get together youd be more than welcome to meet me there! :)
