Buddy the cat had a case of the zoomies last night - the first time since he came to live with me.  He must have tired himself out because he crashed on my bed and was in full snore mode.

I know right ??  After her sitting around all last summer and getting anxious and depressed, I'm so glad she's going to busy, getting paid, and working in a setting she's truely interested in.

That's great news, Deb!  I personally know how important victim services people are, they truly made a difference in my life, and I am sure many many others as well, I am sure Kate will do an awesome job!!!!!!!!!

Not much new going on around here.  Slight disagreement in the office this morning but I settled things down by producing written proof of what I was saying.  Love it when that happens. lol

Jackie -- are you sure you don't work in a small law office in Orlando?  Sounds SO much like "home" (*rolling eyes*)

I can't believe this is the first time this week I've had time to sneak in here! SAD!

Its been a crazy busy week. Tonight I have a lot of prep work to do for meals & packing for our mini vacation this weekend. We're headed up to Northern MN to a friends cabin for the long weekend. Can't wait. Need some R & R. I'm leaving work at 11 tomorrow. Dogs are coming with, lots of swimming!

I hope the weather warms up...its windy & COLD here now! At least the sun is out though.

If I don't talk to you all before I leave, have a fantastic weekend!

*wimpers* it's supposed to hit 90 here most of the weekend.  I've forgotten what sun is like, I think I might shrivel up and die.

4 day weekend starts in under 6 hours :)  DH and I are still deciding on where to go eat for our anniversary... try a new local place, or cheesecake factory?  we want a nice place but nothing with "weird" food.  I have some recommendations from coworkers, we shall see. Makes me hungry to think about it!

Ended up renting the lawnmower from Hades yesterday.....one of the knobs that holds the handle in the upright position was missing, the danged handle kept popping out down by the wheel, couldn't keep the handle in an upright enough position to use the self propulsion.....and it kept clogging itself and stalling.  We aren't talking about going through foot high grass or anything......just regular lawn.  Oh, and it was dirty and got a MESS of dead grass in the back of my vehicle.  I tried doing a little bit of the field this morning....if it's done correctly you can actually mow the really tall stuff without stalling, but you have to be super attentive, and the mower just was NOT cooperating this morning.  And, when it would stall (often) it took multiple pulls and much pleading to get it going again.  The shoulder is NOT happy with me.  So, I got all hot and sweaty for nuttin.  Not a happy camper, but the hdw store did give me a free rental for next time.

 I met with the carpenter's this morning to plan out our new walk in master closet which is going to be SO AWESOME!  I have been more excited about it than anything and that excitement all rushed back this morning.  I might want to live in there.  And while I was there, they finally cut the doorway from our house to the addition to officially make it part of the house.  When I get home, I should have a newly built closets, shudders on the windows and a few new doorways.  Next they paint, then flooring next Wednesday and electrical at some point soon.  I don't think there is too much left to do!  I will be SO happy to not come home to a thick layer of dust that has to be cleaned up before I can even start making dinner every night.  Oh, and the garage doors should hopefully be in by next week too.  Squeeel!!!!!   

Sounds like you have a good contractor, Sarah.  Around here you wait for months to get anything done and then it takes them forever to finally get anything accomplished !!

Maybe I haven't been paying close attention but this seems like it's gone super fast. When did they start? I'm super excited for you and totally understand about the walk-in closet. Mine isn't super fancy but I couldn't live without it.

So, when I got home yesterday and turned on the news, I saw a scary looking weather map and was sure they were talking about one of the states being so hard hit but nope, it was for the area about an hour north of here. I was dumbfounded. Seeing the warnings to take shelter, etc. going across the screen is just something we never see here. A few tornadoes did touch down and there was some damage but no injuries. It rained really hard all day yesterday but today is supposed to be sunny but still cooler than normal.

When my boss announced his retirement at the Board mtg yesterday, we fully expected they'd appoint the Dep Dir to the position. Because 1 of the 4 board members was absent, they decided to hold off and schedule a special meeting to discuss it. My poor Dep Dir went from being really excited to being a nervous wreck while they debated it behind closed doors to being deflated about the whole thing. I'm sure they'll appoint him but it was a stressful 4 hour meeting for all of us. It's frustrating to rely on a Board's decisions when they really don't have a clue about the day to day functions or the people that handle them.
