I truely believe that the Rapture didn't happen on Saturday because the powers that be are waiting for Wednesday to carry off Oprah on live TV.  There's just no other way it could end.

No, the Rapture has been re-scheduled to October 21st.

I don't think even Oprah has enough power and money to pull it off.

Deb, please tell me you said something about your hair yesterday too because strangely, I had a dream about you and your hair last night...and in my dream, your hair was quite wild!  I can't remember what else happened but we did have some vodka!  I had a lot of really strange dreams last night though!

Amanda, so nice to see you!  Hope life is treating you well and those boys aren't keeping you too busy.  Hope to see you around more.  :)

Jackie, so happy to hear you are feeling better, and even happier for you that you got a cleaning lady at the office!  I HATED that job when I worked at a music store years ago....especially the customer bathroom.  oooooggiieeeee......

I am sure I missed people but good vibes to those who need them.

Just trying to catch up on months of work that got tossed to the side during tax season.  My due date is so quickly approaching and with a remodel and so much work in the office, I am totally overwhelmed by it all.  The remodel is moving along nicely though and I am thinking we are about 2 weeks away from being mostly done...I hope.  It's exciting to see all the changes happening.  Our new front door went in yesterday and today I think the brick is going back on the house and who knows what else.  I think I may have some new shudders and a new post too!

I made a huge mistake and took D to see the Wizard of Oz at a children's musical theater here last Saturday.  We ended up leaving at intermission because I could tell she was scared and didn't want to stay if she wasn't enjoying it which was the whole point.  She has been talking about the witch ever since and woken up crying twice since then.  I guess you live and you learn.  I hope this passes quickly because I really like to snooze as late as possible in the mornings.  yawn.....

Well you wouldn't have to be dreaming.  My hair IS wild and of course we would drink Vodka.

My mind is going from old age and excess alcohol - when are you due, Sarah ??

    Hi Amanda !!

How's the family?  What are the boys up to this summer ?

The family is nuts, which is just the way that I like them!  Summer brings more baseball tournaments, & lots of time for fishing with DH.  DH is teaching no summer classes so they'll have plenty of time to goof around.

I will admit that I was a bit disappointed that Harold Camping didn't "drink the koolaid" after his miscalculated rapture prediction.  The world could use one less whackjob....

    ((((Meg)))))  I can't believe it's already been a year.

Sarah, I hope Devin gets over her fear.  I had nightmares about the flying monkeys after seeing the Wizard of Oz on TV but that never stopped me from watching it every year all through my childhood.  lol  You never know what will scare a young child because some will not be bothered by much of anything and others will freak over what seems very mild.  I can't imagine how overwhelmed you must be feeling with everything going on right now.  Hope it all gets finished before the baby arrives.

I just peeked at the kitchen area that the Sparkly Clean gal has finished.  OMG!  I'm so happy I could kiss her!   Why didn't I do this years and years ago?  Stupid control freak me, that's why. lol

    (((Meg)))

I'm sorry to hear that Kaiser is still having problems. Poor guy :(

Amanda - It's so good to see a post from you. I don't get here as much as I used to either, so I understand.

I was thinking about Lori (Willow) the other day. I haven't seen a post from her in ages but maybe she's posted in other areas.

Deb - good luck with the hair appt.

Karen - was it you who mentioned the Lady Gaga album for 99 cents? If so - thank you!! I'm not sure I like all the songs but for that price, even if I like 1/2 of them, it's a bargain. Her music is the upbeat type that I love to work out to.

I want a cleaning person and I don't know what it is that holds me back from hiring someone. I think it would help if I knew of someone reliable and trustworthy. I know it'd be worth every penny.

Board meeting tomorrow and I have many loose ends to tie up. I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

    Yahoozles!

Meg, I'm sorry you're feeling sad.  It's amazing that it's actually been a year.  Special dogs like that make the impression that they've always been around and when they're gone, it's like "yesterday" that they were here.  ((hugs))

Good thoughts for Kaiser and Megan and crew.

I found a teeny tiny tick attached to my side this morning.  Can I tell you how pissed off I was?  It's hot and muggy and overcast outside, strangely I haven't seen the mayflies yet, but these ticks can be carriers of hideous things.  Gracie has some weird bug bite on her underbelly with a red ring around it - conflicting reports if it could be a tick bite or not.  Argh!  Ask me again if I'm glad to be back in New England...  At least there are lilacs....

and baby Canadian Geese.... little grey fuzzy footballs that they are.

    LOL

OK so two 4 day weekends has me scrambling!!!!!!!!!!!!! Loads of fun but zowie so many contacts to respond to, work to do, household things...ay ya yay.

Paige the week before I went to NY I took 5 ticks off B (none were attached, two were dead) and also had several walking on me.  Yesterday I bathed him and washed the car and when I came in I saw a speck of dirt on my toe............no such luck, a tick and attached.  Clearly we are having a bad year for them as I don't recall the time B had one.  I'm wondering what if anything will help in the yard to keep the population down. guinea hens aren't allowed plus I feel confident that would end badly for them with the bird monster around.

Sarah I too was horrified by Wizard of Oz and Willy Wonka (original).  I got over it but don't watch either.

Lots of hugs for Meg and for Megan and Kaiser.

Jackie glad you are feeling a bit better

OK this is not reducing the inbox...................see ya

Groan!  What was supposed to be a short day at the office turned into a not so short one, and I've got to go back in later on.

Majorly humid here today so the garden can wait another day.

Good vibes for Kaiser, ((((Megan)))) and whoever else I missed.

    • Gold Top Dog

I had to stop myself from asking the Sparkly Clean girl if she would marry me. lol  She did a great job and the office is so nice and clean.  :)

Karen, I would recommend you try some beneficial nematodes for the ticks but I think they are only effective on the engorged females and the nymph ticks are just as likely to transmit lyme as the adults.  I guess if I had bad tick problems I'd bite the bullet and have the yard treated much as I hate insecticides.

Paige, adorable pic of the baby geese!

I understand that it has  been moved to October.  I have enough tablecloths to make togas for everyone as long as stripes and florals are OK - I don't have any white ones.

If the nice weather holds I just may drag my lounge chair cushions out of the dining room and put them back outside where they belong. Max would prefer them outside.  He likes to hop up on one of the chairs and snooze in the sun.

Good vibes coming for Kaiser.  I guess I missed reading that there was something going on with him.

Good vibes for Kaiser and Megan.

    Good to see you, Amanda!

I would love to have a cleaning lady! Maybe after I win the lottery...

    Squeeeeee at the baby goosies!

I worked for a couple of hours this morning then had to take both kids to the dentist. They did pretty well, surprisingly. I do need to do something about Sonja's pacifier use, though. I just dread the 3+ day long cry fest that will follow. I have been trying to wean her from it slowly, but some days she's just so crabby and that's the only thing that helps.

If not Karen, I think I mentioned it as well -- that was exactly how I felt, can't beat 99 cents :)  I was a little miffed with Amazon since they didn't all show up right away, and then today I hear they had server issues -- well, who would've thunk when you practically give something away?!?  I've had "born this way" stuck in my head for two days now!

DH started hanging drywall in the basement last night -- I haven't seen it yet, but at least this means things are coming together!  I can't believe how crazy over budget it got, but at least it will be exactly what we want when it's finished.  Lowe's messed up our flooring order so hopefully the right stuff comes in again before he's to that point.  They were nice about it, though, and at least it wasn't trying to explain problems to someone who didn't understand what I wanted.

I made my first frittata last night - yummm!

I thought I had a purpose in mind when I hit 'reply' but seems I have forgotten it by now.  "mindless" for sure!
