    Stupid Pit Bull Owner

Before getting Lizzie I had my heart set out on getting a Pittie,Rottie or Dobie. My stepfathers friend had a new litter of Pitties just born around that time. I really had my heart set on one but I ended up saying no because irresponsible breeder= bad dogs.

Well yesterday I went to a house and what do you know they have a pit bull from that litter. Well the dog is 4 months old and is gorgeous. They cropped his ears and he looks like a big dog but bite size.

Well the bad part is that he is tied outside with a HUGE super heavy chain, and at only 4 months old if you get anywhere near him he will snap at you. I asked the guys wife why the heck he had such a thick chain and she told me 'dont you know hes a pit bull? its so he'll develop muscles.' I have to admit the dog IS very muscular (when I usually see a 4 month old he is a bit lanky) and the dog is very tough looking but why the hell the chain and teaching him to be mean??????

People like that make my blood boil, I was there for less than 5 mnutes and I had to leave because I didnt want to see them anymore.

This guy is a *** fighter (her in Puerto Rico its legal) and I dont even want to think of what he wants to do with this boy

You can all flame me now..................that dog needs to be euth'd immediately....no passing go etc.
Please don't tell me it's about the chain or being tied outside.  This dog has unaccepable temp for a bully breed.
These backyard breeders need the execution chair....good old Sparky.
Sorry I'm coming off so rough but because of people like this one day someone might come to my door to take my dogs.
I thank you for being smart and not taking one from this idiot.  I'm not sure if PR has too many rescues but if the
Navy base is still open there I'm sure a pit has to wind up in the shelter occassionally.
Good luck and if you're ever up this way I can help you find a pit or rott or what you want.
Take your time it'll come along.[&:]

No flaming here--I agree with you.  One thing that I just can't tolerate is human aggression--ESPECIALLY in a breed that is meant to be very human friendly AND is is so embattled.  IMHO, pit people need to be very watchful and picky about thier dogs.  If Sally had shown signs of human aggression she would not be with us right now.

I know it sounds harsh, but with all the BSL these days and something like 1 in 600 pitties getting homes, we must not tolerate human aggression, period.

    *steps off soap box*

    Oh the poor baby[:@]

Such a shame this baby ended up in the hands of someone who probably thinks dog fighting is Ok and plans to do just that

I currently have a Collie puppy but when she is older I will definately look into another dog, this time from a rescue or a VERY good breeder. I searched high and low for this girl and even though she is from an 'oops' litter her breeder was the most reputable breeder I found. Very nice person, she is very alert with Lizzie and all her pups, and has told me that if for some reason I cannot keep her she will gladly take her back!

I looked at Yorkies, Pitties, Rotties, Dobies and Shih Tzus and all those people were just after $$$ and I casually called up Lizzies breeder though I wasnt too hopeful because of all the BYB I had encountered and because the breeder lives across the island and its a very long drive. But I decided to make the trip even if it was just to look.

Boy did I fool myself because when I saw her running towards me I was alreadty thinking 'I'll take her'

nynative: when i decide to get another pup i will look you up! If I get a pittie I want one that is exported with a solid temperment even if I have to pay big

Ooooh, I wish I could take one.  We're here in Wisconsin, but it will be at least another year before we get to own a dog, if not more.  That's just if our house goal comes to fruition.  I'm dogless, here, and hating it!  The cat and bird are no substitution. [:(]
