Is paw wax like a balm to put on the pads?

i use Mushers Secret...keeps the paws supple and keeps from cracking...i apply 3 times a week, because we run so much./.

Paw wax is often used on dogs going in the show ring, where the floors are slippery, it stops them from losing their footing, gives them a grip.

I use it, but have discovered that the trick to getting a good grip and even coverage is to melt the surface with a lighter for a second or 2 before smearing it on.  It doesn't make the wax or container too hot, just makes it smooth over his paws more easily.

Yeah, it's suppose to get the dogs get a better grip. My house doesn't have carpet but wooden floors and with her arthritis, I feel like it wouldn't hurt if she could grip the floor better.

I used it a long time ago when I trained Mick on a gym floor.  It's a pain to put on.  The past few years I've been using "show Foot" to help Mick keep his footing in school.  It's much easier to use because it's a spray.

Ames, I have a similar problem here, only my dog is bad on slippery floors due to surgery on her little knees during her first year.  Slippery floors are deadly.  So, we have runners across all the areas of the house where she wants to dash across the ceramic or wood floors.  A while back I posted a picture of my Target runners lined up across my beautiful ceramic tile kitchen.  Anything for Princess Misty.  Are you giving your dog a Glucosamine and Chondroitin supplement?  It can really help with the arthritis pain.
