    Isn't that the truth!

    Agreed.

     I saw this on Facebook...

Repost: May 1st 1945: Hitler confirmed dead. May 1st 2011: Osama Bin Laden confirmed dead.” // 66 years to the day.

Now, I'm going to sound like a grouch.  There is a show on Sunday nights that I fight to stay awake to see.  As thrilled as I was to know that the man is gone, the networks rush to be first annoys the tar out of me.  SEVEN minutes later, the dude still would be dead, and since they had nothing of substance, nothing confirmed, nothing to really talk about they just talked and talked and talked for over 30 minutes waiting for O'Bama.  We went from Bin Ladin being killed several days ago by a drone to being killed Sunday by a coordinated air/ground attack.  I suppose that its petty to want to have seen the last few minutes of entertainment, but, yeah, I would have preferred the entertainment to talking heads who didn't have REAL, solid information to share.

I finally dragged the boy out in the woods yesterday and got more firewood.  A bunch of maples had been cut down and just left beside the little trail that passes for a road.  Good harvesting even tho I was a little nervous about what might be living in that pile!  Now if I can just get him to go back again later in the week we MIGHT be able to get our winter supply laid in now.

Hope everyone has a great day, despite the fact that its Monday.

Kudos to those involved in the taking of Bin Laden.

    Cool, cloudy and icky again.

Nothing exciting going on here.  Bowling banquet is Friday and the season is done.  Bought some Keen hiking shows for Yellowstone, gotta get those broken in.

Kinda brain dead....off to make coffee.

    Have a great day !

    well said

Marty I thought that was great but of course went and looked it up; Hitler committed suicide on April 30, 1945

another pretty morning Big Smile Bugsy motivated me to run our 3 miles today, LOL

I then hosed him off when we got back because he's been very itchy - this of course led to a long insane zoomie that made me laugh hysterically, what a great way to start the day!

I also received a stink eye from a house finch because Bugsy's outside water bowl was empty.  Every bird in the neighborhood uses it for a bath which is quite funny but really I don't need a dirty look from a bird LOL

Does anyone have a managing change module/training handout that they thought was good?  If so let me know, thanks

I am doubly pleased with our weather of late, it is so cool during the morning and it cools off after sunset that we've not had to run the AC much at all.  usually by this time we are running it quite a bit.  Should be a good savings.

I slept like crap due to the extreme pain in my shoulder and neck.

Buddy the cat is a complete night owl and his wanderings through the house have not helped me sleep either.

I was shocked to hear the reports of Bin Laden's murder this morning.

    • Gold Top Dog

Yes, but the announcement was made on May 1.

I have no doubt that Bin Laden was a bad, bad guy, and hurt millions of people either directly or indirectly through his messages of fear and hatred. That said, it makes me uncomfortable to see this degree of public celebration of someone's death. I suppose it's only natural, but it seems like it should be more of a solemn occasion.

The reports said he was hiding in a compound an hour north of the capital. Incredible.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Ours was busy but fun, I went to a baby shower on Sat, got to ride the motorcycle there (nice hour ride, it was great!)

And then on Sunday we finalized w/ the woman making our wedding cake.  We're having cupcakes!!  Will make it much easier since no one will have to cut, we won't have to get a fancy knife/serving set, and no transport worries like we had w/ the cake, they'll just go in the box and we'll arrange them how we want them when we get there :)

Also we got to visit w/ FH's aunt who flew up from FL and his grandparents who we don't get to see much.  Lots of fun :D

The celebration that is going on b/c Bin Laden is dead, makes me sad.  Yes I know he did horrible things, and I'm not sorry that he's gone, I just don't think celebrating the killing of someone is right.  Yes it was sanctioned by the government and seems to be very popular, but still its taking the life of another human being.  Just doesn't seem like a joyous occasion to me.

It's a time of reflection to me. Not celebration as much and a sense of wonder, and deep thought as to what the means...what happens now....how this will affect us all in the coming weeks, months, and years. So...even tho the celebrations may be what they show, it's certainly not the only way people are responding.

Lily and I had a good talk about it this morning. She goes to school with many Muslim and Pakistani children and I wanted her to know that those children are not deserving of any bullying or name calling...it was bad here after 9/11 and those same people calling for all muslims to be ejected from the USA live here and some doubtless have kids. I just don't want any more hate or vitrol from adults spilled onto the kids. Enough.

I wonder how the schools are handling it it...especially those as diverse as ours where Mom's with scarf covered hair or wearing sari's are as commonly seen as those wearing Levi's and Kate Gosselin hairdo's.

That sums up pretty much how I feel.

Today is not going to be a good day, nor will tomorrow. I really wish I could just play hooky.

Ok, I need some advice from the gurus here....

I am working with a group on a project for my class. One person sent her piece of the project, and knowing her, it just looked suspiciously good. She's foreign, her English is not good, and I've seen the quality of her work in the past. It just didn't seem like she was possible of independently producing that quality of writing. There were also very few references. So, I started copying and pasting the text of her slides into Google.  Shock of shocks, everything I searched so far is plagiarized. I'm planning to email the other group members about this, but I don't want to confront this woman directly (I had a problem with her in the past trying to cheat off my test in other class). Do you think I should email the professor at this point? Should I email the professor separate of my group members if I am going to do this, or should I just cc or bcc her on the same email I plan to send to the group? I am definitely holding a grudge against her for trying to cheat off me in the past, if that matters. I could also choose to say nothing, or to say something only within the group, and fix it all for her. Since she plagiarized and it's so easy to find, I can easily Google search the text of each slide, and put the references in myself. I feel like that is a bad option though, because she won't learn from that at all.

Now I'm off to read the other posts.
