    Thursday Chatter

Thursday is just a tease of a day, not quite Friday, but you can already taste the weekend.

Thank you all SO MUCH for the good luck vibes on my interview. They definitely helped. I was far less nervous and rambly than I usually am lol. I think it went well and I know they said they'd be calling my references to check on them! Good sign, right?!? The position sounds really good. Even though it would mean back to commuting 80ish miles a day, I'm pretty certain I want this position if they make an offer. I'll be walking into a bit of a chaotic mess (they've been understaffed) but I kinda like that. I can help out and be at the beginning of helping to clean up the systems and help streamline the work.

I'm in a pretty darn good mood today. I lost another 0.6 lbs last week and had a good interview. Plus, my social life is coming around. I'm feel a lot less isolated living here these days. Does wonders for my mood and perspective on things!

On a bad note, my attempts to fix our running toilet have all failed. I got it working right temporarily but I think it needs parts replaced. Now, it appears to be leaking. Gotta call a plumber today and get it fixed up right!

So glad that the interview went well Sharon.

Mom seems to be feeling better and finally eating more.  Good thots that she continues in an upward direction please.

I'm off to work today so best get out the door.  Hope everyone has a good day.

Sharon that's great! The interview, weightloss and social life. Congrats.

Glenda, glad you mom is feeling a bit better.

I had fun last night at training despite it being in the 30s with crazy wind. Abbie is struggling a bit though. Her nose just gets the best of her and she's having a hard time ignoring other, more interesting scents. I hope we get through it.

Today should be pretty mellow at work. I am going to start to clean up my files and email archives. That alone will take an entire weeks worth of work.

I have happy hour tonight with some of my soon to be new co-workers. Good way to start off on the right foot :)

Sometimes I hate being the company communicator.  Had to send out the funeral info about our manager who died last week.  Very difficult to word and his direct co-workers are still struggling, so the wounds will be opened again.

On the up side, only working half a day tomorrow, then off to my friend's for the weekend.  Then Buddy the cat can come home Tuesday if his URI is cleared up.

DS and I are babysitting his friend's dog again and the little stinker went out to potty before we left for work and then wouldn't come in.  I dropped DS off and went back to the house and played with him a bit, then grabbed his collar and he went inside more willingly.  Tomorrow morning I will leash him for his last potty break - DUH me for not doing it this morning. Confused

Sharon, I've got fingers crossed that they offer you the job.

Tina, have fun this weekend.   Having to send the funeral info out=bummer.  :(

I better get busy so I can take off tomorrow with a somewhat clean desk here at work.

Karen, I'm sorry you're not getting a puppy. Crying  I know you'll be ok but it's a damn shame just the same.

Glenda, I am glad your mom is feeling a bit better and hope she continues improving Smile

I was planning on cleaning today since I have the house to myself and it's much easier to clean while DH isn't here...but I think I am going to a friends place in a bit to help make angry bird cupcakes and I am going to bring Sadie and then we will go to DH's work (her BF works with my DH actually) and take Sadie to meet everyone at his work!  His bosses don't really care for interruptions at work, so I am going on his lunch - really though, who can look at a beagle and be upset?  It's pretty impossible.

I bought Sadie a new raincoat yesterday.  I tried to buy Timmy one but the largest size the store had was XL and it didn't fit him.  Oh well.  he isn't much for clothes anyway - he doesn't mind getting them on or anything but once you have clothes on him he freezes...he won't move.  It's pretty funny.  It takes a lot of coaxing to get him going with clothes on.

    Morning all!

Having a busy day here, we dont get  the day off tomorrow like most and it is bill due day here so tomorrow will be really busy.

I have already forgot most of everything I read, lol, Glenda may I join you in your senior moment :)

Today and tomorrow more severe storms are promised.  Gotta find out if there is something that can be done about the hail damage to my van, Tues afternoon.   Nothing major just lots of small pits in all my windows :( , I think I will wait till all the storms have passed this weekend.

Hugs and good vibes to those that need them.

crisis averted... nearly forgot that my 2pm client had rescheduled for 9:30.  My phone and computer etc started sending me alerts and it all came back to me, at about 9:20. whew!

Why does this dog - with four beds curl up in a ball on the floor?

Sharon that's great! The interview, weightloss and social life. Congrats.

    Absolutely!!!

Jackie and Tina - We'll miss you but I hope you both have a fun trip.

Karen - sorry about the no-puppy decision but it sounds like it's not a never kind of thing but just not right now.

DH is working Sun/Mon, so I'm hoping the weather will cooperate and I can get out to Grace for some equine therapy. They don't allow volunteer work on holidays but if they did, I'd go out there on Easter. I'm off on Monday though, so I'll probably go out there then. I'm really touched by the donations I've gotten for my sponsor horse, Jessie. My FIL sent me a check for $100 yesterday Big Smile

Karen, I don't understand why dogs do that either.  Nice beds, but no, the wood floor is the spot where they lay.  Poor abused Bugsy!

My boss gave me the thumbs-up on my funeral email being tasteful and appropriate.  Whew!

    GOOD NEWS!!

Remi's eye is just fine! :) They did a tear test and he is producing enough of his own tears to flush his eye. They also did the dye test and that confirmed that he has NO scratches or ulcers from the ball hitting him on Tuesday. Thank goodness!! We got sent home with eye drops for the next week to help with irritation & redness. Thank you all for the well wishes & good thoughts.

He also got weighed there, a solid 46.2#!! I got a lot of compliments on him today, I think the vet tech wanted to bring him home!!

Busy day ahead of me since I missed a few hours this morning. Have a great day everyone.

Yes  Phew, that is a toughie.  We've had a few here over the last few months and sometimes they have to cross language barriers, too.  Ugh.  Grief and sympathy are universal.

On the flip side, we had a re-org note go out that said something like "that means so-in-so and such-n-such will be leaving as of... We thank them for their contributions and many years of service to the company and wish them well in their future endeavors."  Ucky... I know one had been here something like 12 years.  PS, the email went out w/out a subject line, too.

Poor abused Bugsy, my toe.  Gracie says she will happily take your beds, but only if they can all be stacked up together in the fluffiest nest possible.  I swear, it's like the Princess and the Pea with that girl - she can feel the tiniest lump that makes it not right and MUST shift and shuffle.

Ahh, free Chinese lunch is here... YUMM

Karen -- sorry about the puppy and 'timing' generally.  Bugsy just wants *choice* is all! (grin)

Tina -- kudos feel good even when for something like that ... & periodically my girls will get into a "No, I'm not coming in right NOW" routine and I just have a rope I leave tied out back and all I have to say on those tempted mornings is "GEE -- do we **have** to go back to THIS?" and nope, they come straight in.  Just acquiaint this little guy with the wonders of a leash!!  Miracle tool! LOL

Jackie & Tina -- have a great weekend!

Sharon -- wishing you all the best on getting this job!!  Whoohooo!

Julie -- I hope this change is the absolute best for you!!  You deserve it!

Glenda -- glad to hear good news on your Mom!! phew!

I hope everyone's weather cooperates this weekend -- a lot of families get together and try to do stuff.
