On a sad note, I'm thinking of my dear friends who will be spending their last afternoon w/their girl today....

Sad - I have such empathy for people going thru this. I'm so sorry for them.

Jackie - I hope your eye appt goes okay and nothing ruins your plans to get away.

I'm almost afraid to take a peek at the eagle cam now. I know how easy it is to get emotionally connected. I stayed up too late last night watching a horse foaling. Things seemed to go fast and smooth but this cam has sound and it was obvious that there was a problem. You could hear the owner calling her vet and saying there was an emergency with the mare and she was bleeding heavily. They eventually cut the cam and I went to bed praying hard. I was so relieved to wake up and see the mare and filly up and doing okay. I guess the mare had pushed so hard that she'd created a huge hematoma that had ruptured.

I came in to work this morning to find a bouquet of flowers and BD card from my boss. Inside the card was a generous donation for the horse I'm sponsoring. I am so touched by his and his wife's thoughtfulness.

    UGH

I just had a tick walking on my arm, shudders

Thank you all for the advice/support re breathing and coughing.  I am on several asthma meds which are helping, the doc didn't think that the opiate based cough syrup was a good idea due to the asthma. I'm doing a lot better, as long as its getting better I'm OK

Jackie - I am sending you good healthy eye vibes! I have eyes that barely work, there was some concern over me going blind as a child (luckily I didn't) so I know how scary eye issues can be.

Karen - Get on the mend will ya? Sheesh! LOL - Seriously though, I hope you are feeling better soon :) Oh and re: Bugsy....I wouldn't mind being part of his harem! He is a Beaut! (that was my best crocodile hunter impression).

Sharon - Tons of good luck vibes for the interview!!!

Johnny, I will send you some "win the lotto" vibes if you can send me some in return! Maybe we will both win and can pool together for the idog party!

So, I have to say, I am incredibly proud of DH. He has been working basically non-stop to sort out his birds and make phone calls letting people know he is getting out of birds. Fingers crossed our friend in Michigan is going to take them. We still have to talk price. Some vibes for getting rid of the birds to a good home would be appreciated! I know this was an incredibly hard decision for DH. He really really loves breeding the birds and knowing he probably won't be able to for another 15 years is hard on him. I think in some ways, he is looking forward to more free time though.

We also have a plan re: moving - a solid one! The plan is to get rid of the birds in the next month or two, finish fixing up the house and start looking for jobs in British Columbia.....then put the house on the market by August/September. Ideally DH gets a job in Kelowna, our second choice is middle of nowhere Rossland/Castlegar area, and lastly, Vancouver if need be - pretty certain he can get a job in Vancouver easily but I am not sure about Kelowna. Either way, it looks like we will be outta Ontario by this fall :) Guess I'd better start working on Miss Sadie's barking issue. *I* don't think it's really that big of a deal most times, but I can see how it would be irritating in an apartment setting.

ETA: Paige, I am so sorry for what your friend is going through. I can't even imagine.

How to deal with difficult people - I need a refresher course. Are there any books about this?

Winter is back but at least my hummingbird feeder isn't covered in snow anymore. I'm dreading my trip to the U.P. where I'm sure they still have a foot or more of snow on the ground. Might as well be going to Alaska!

Julie, we have restaurants in the UP and they don't have much snow left on the ground at all, at least until the storm comes through tonight.

Stacey, if you move to Vancouver, you know you're only a 3 hour trip from me, Maze and Sandy Wink

I'm back from the eye specialist and no retinal problems!  I'm so thrilled and I'm sure the good vibes helped. :)  I can't see very well as my eyes are dilated to the max but knowing I was wrong ( I thought I had a lot of new floaters which is a sign of bleeding when the retina tears) and my retinas are ok makes me feel like I won the lottery.  I didn't read any other posts so hope everyone is ok.  Vibes and hugs to those who need them.

I heard the Escanaba area just got 5 inches over the weekend and are expecting more this week. Seriously. I will need to take some happy pills or something haha. I have to visit Newberry, Ispheming, Escanaba and Crystal Falls. Have any restaurants in those places?

No, but you'll have to pass one in St Ig on  your way over the bridge (Mighty Mack, not the other bridge, for the non-Michiganders).

Jackie I'm so glad to hear everything is ok! Thanks everyone for the good vibes for my interview tomorrow. I just found out my coworker/friend is going for the same job too! While I really want the job for myself, if it doesn't work out for me, I hope she is the one who gets it. It's sad but EVERY single one of my coworkers is actively looking to leave the company we currently work for. I'm ignoring any and all talk concerning snow! Even if it's not falling by me!

Is it in St Ignace? What's the name?

    Happy Birthday Tina & Kate!

Cathy, that's awesome about your boss.  Yes

The eagle's nest is full of snow, and it's raining. Poor mama looks miserable. At least the snow covers up all the carcasses. Big Smile

The big storm is supposed to roll in around 4pm today. We're right on the border of 3-6" and 6-12". Bleh. Tired of the snow.

Janice- we're only supposed to get about 1-2" up here. I really hope no more than that. And I hope you don't get a bunch either!! I can't believe this....such a long winter.

Sorry I'm so late getting in today everyone, what a busy day. I think a run is in order tonight. DESTRESS!

Happy Birthday Tina, Kate and Cathy??

I'm totally braindead today.  Took DH to work so I  could hit the library, which was CLOSED yesterday for Patriots Day...both lots full, so fine, went the the bottle redemption place, picked up some wine, headed out to Wally World to get a couple things and my personal stuff from the kiosk.  As I finished I spotted a co-worker who said that the boss would be there momentarily, so I hung around waiting for him and helped tear the kiosk down and loaded into the truck.  Had a couple IRS rejects and one was mine, so Phil said to go down to the other office one day this week to fix them.  Except, one was an assisted refund, which means WE haven't been paid yet, so decided to fix it today.....and the second I got there he asked me to clock in and do returns!  Yikes.  So, my day became rather long.  Didn't get home until after 4 and left around 8:30...so for a day I hadn't planned to work.......

Let's see what I can remember....Sharon, good interview vibes, Jackie, great news from the doc,  blast, that's it...all I can remember, so good vibes to everyone else.  Oh, and Johnny, I'll send you winning vibes if you'll do the same for me!!

I have never disliked a landlord as much as this one. Either he doesn't come when he says he will..or he pops in unannounced.  Today he's decided to do weeds. I asked him to come back in an hour since I just put Clive down. Sure, he says. Twenty minutes later, he's back and woke up the kid with the really loud mower.

Now, I do not tip toe around a sleeping baby, but a mower is a new sound (no grass here in the desert, so few people have them) and he wasn't asleep enough to coma through it.
