I have puppy fever - I've got it bad

OMG I so want a pup.  I always want a pup or second dog but sometimes it is stronger than others.

Right now is one of those times

    That's all.

So if a little GSP pup or weim pup landed in my yard, I'd be a happy woman

Careful what you wish for.... someone may be able to fulfill that wish before you know it!! :)

So how do we go about convincing DH that you need a puppy right now? Angel

You can borrow Kash....but just borrow him. I do want him back!

ha ha Paige I wonder who you mean?

Jano I don't know - I am going to work on it this weekend pretty hard.  I've got a lead on a nice GSP pup, nice parents with hunt titles, good health checks going back a few generations, he's cute (well we knew that), parents also are serious dock diving dogs, they are shown but I wouldn't be obligated to (I have no interest)

He's the last of the litter left - makes me wonder but what the heck do I know?  I suppose if I really want to buy a pup I should learn a whole lot more than I know now about how to select a breeding. After Bugsy's knees I just want to ensure that it has a good lineage of good health/joints.

I am always torn between rescue and buying a pup - right now I want to buy a well-bred pup.   I would love to be able to start a little one now using the learning I have gained since bringing Bugsy home.

sigh - me want a pup

Man, when puppy fever bites, it BITES! I squish on Royce all the time because it's the only way to ease the fever, heehee. Everyone knows you're an awesome doggy mom and any pup who gets you is a lucky baby! Would you prefer a male or female ? (I don't know how the Bug man likes other males.)

You can borrow Pan until he's 18 months or so, lol.  I don't really get the "puppy fever" (just find it difficult to get what I want/need unless I'm buying a puppy).  When people say "OMG he's such a dog no longer a puppy!" I say "Good!"  Can we skip from 12 weeks to 18 months?

If you found a litter that might work, no harm in looking.  Please do not feel guilty about breeding vs. rescue.  You know what you want, what would work in your household.

     ((((giggles))))  Santa!!! :)

I know how it is... I've had it for awhile, too.  Sometimes it flairs up worse than at other times, and Nik helps, she's puppy sized! :)  I tried to hide Ali under my bed, but they found her! LOL

Good luck with DH this weekend.  I wouldn't worry about the pup being the last one, if it's a good litter, people can't usually pick their pups... so you can ask why this pup is still waiting for a home.  Why this pup hasn't matched with those homes that have come prior.  But after Bugs, I think you could handle a walrus/lion cross.... big and fierce, minus the tusks :)

But wouldn't you rather have a WEIM puppy..........

I"m with Lies -- I *never* get puppy fever.  Oh I love to hold them and squish them and cuddle them -- for 15 minutes and then hand them back to MOM and go home and love on my mature dogs.

To be honest -- the only thing that remotely even makes me sigh right now is I do miss having an old dog around (and Billy wasn't "old" -- I mean OLD) but I wouldn't trade having two dogs old enough to have a brain and be trainable to add another dog for all the world.  I'm enjoying my girls at this point and we're about to embark on some new pet therapy stuff that's pretty exciting.  I wouldn't trade that for puppy breath!!

I'll gladly congratulate you if you get one, but it's just not an itch i get.  But if you're bored I can always send up the pug with a little fairy dust .... she can HELP!!!!

    But if you're bored

bwa ha ha ha ha it isn't boredom!  I was awakened this morning by the world's largest 'puppy' who was systematically shredding his second magazine Hmm (I clearly was in bed too long!)  Then after I was awake I watched him speedrolling a kibble nibble throughout my house.  So it isn't boredom.

And despite the above I have learned to understand why some prefer older dogs, Bugsy knows the routine and is more settled than ever.

Its the desire to start a pup properly.  A pup that can do the things I would love to do and we can start at a young age.  Bugsy is fine with pups, male or female, and the desire for a pup is also because I have always wanted him to have a sibling.  I truly believe he would be better with a pack mate than alone.

I would happily run Kash or Pan for a day!

OK the giant puppy is driving me crazy demanded some exercise.......................

Karen, I totally understand how you're feeling.  I have a bad case of Pap fever.  After driving Princess to her foster home & spending last weekend with some, I need one in a bad way.  I'm trying to say that I understand your need for one.  I know that B would be awesome with a pup unlike a certain other BB&T dawg I know.  Good luck with DH this weekend.  :D

Good convincing vibes coming your way!  I have no desire to have a puppy right now but hubby has mentioned it a couple of time I just quickly change the subject, lol!  If we were to have another puppy in the house I know who would be responsible...lol...and it's not hubby.

I know what you mean Karen.  I love the fact that Charlie is settled now, but boy do I want to squish a little baby beagle again.  Unfortunately, our HOA (we live in a condo community) only allows one dog with a second upon inspection, review, etc etc. so we can't.

that puppy is darn cute! I only get puppy fever for aussie pups and since I'm at my limit, the puppy fever is well under control. If I only had 1 dog......the temptation would be way too hard to resist!

    Good luck!
