What is your favorite training/behavior dog book(s)?

I have read so many dog books some I liked, some I didn't, but there is always something to learn from them even if it's what NOT to do. I'm always looking for new reading material! So, what is your favorite dog training/behavior book(s)?

A really awesome book, if you haven't read it: [linkhttp://www.dogwise.com/ItemDetails.cfm?ID=DTB856]CANINE BODY LANGUAGE, A PHOTOGRAPHIC GUIDE, by Brenda Aloff[/link] it is all about how to interpret your dog's body language.

Other's I have read and liked:

The Dog Listener: Learn How to Communicate with Your Dog for Willing Cooperation By: Jan Fennell

Leader of the Pack By: Nancy Baer, Steve Duno

Don't Shoot the Dog! :The New Art of Teaching and Training By: Karen Pryor

My favorite book on dog behavior - well, I guess it has to be a tie between How to Speak Dog by Stanley Coren, and The Other End of the Leash by Patricia McConnell.

As far as books on dog training go, I don't have a favorite, probably because I haven't read as many books geared toward training as opposed to canine behavior or general life with dogs. I've gotten more of my training knowledge from training classes, online sites likes [linkhttp://www.clickertrainusa.com]www.clickertrainusa.com[/link], and right here on the dog.com forum.

I really liked "Click to Calm"

Someone on this forum suggested it to me and so I read it. I foud the first few chapers really helped me understand my dog. Towards the end it wasn't as interesting as the first half but I still enjoyed it.

My favorites are Culture Clash by Jean Donaldson and The Other End of the Leash by Patricia McConnell. I haven't read any book that are soley about training.

This is my favorite.  I gave my first copy  away to someone I hoped could use it, then went out and purchased another one for myself!

I also loved The Dog Listener by Jan Fennell.  It's a very easy read and I learned so much from this book that I was able to apply to training and living with Ruby, especially the practice of Amichien Bonding. Christi

Same here!  It helped me a lot with Zoe and Bear, and she made it so easy to implement into everyday life.  [:)]  Plus, when I watch my dogs interact, I know what they are saying now.  It's pretty neat!

There's a book called, So, Your Dogs Not Lassie that I really like for difficult dogs.  I'll have to dig it up to see who wrote it.

Readers be aware that the old version of the Monks of New Skete book is so far out of date as to be dangerous. Be sure if you look into this book that you get the latest version, where they update their methods NOT to inlcude "alpha rolls" and other dangerous stuff.

Yeah, I read their ( Monks of New Skete) new book where it says they don't reccomend the alpha rolls anymore. I think I like their puppy book the best anyway.

I loved The Other End of the Leash and I'm now reading Animals in Translation by Temple Grandin and Dogs by the Coppingers.  I have an autistic grandson and he has an awesome dog (a GSD) named Heidi.
