Tuesday for the Mindless . . . . .

Of course, when I pulled it off, adhesive was left behind.

Try orange oil (yep, another health store item) -- it's awesome for 'gunk' of any kind but won't hurt the finish.

    People are often brainless.

WARNING GRAPHIC VENT -- The girl I work with and I were both in tears this morning.  Yesterday two "middle-aged women" decided to go shopping in the Altamonte Mall (near my house) and left TWO PUGS IN THE CAR with the windows UP (we're already in the 90's here)

By the time the cops were called the one dog was already dead, and the other had to be put to sleep so great was the damage to him.  Two little bitty 5 year old pugs.  I still can't stop crying -- it's a death so heinous, so horrible.

It was an HOUR LATER (they were gone **two hours**) before the women returned with some story about how a friend had given the dogs to them because she couldn't care for them and they really didn't know ....

I'll be honest -- stuff like that makes me want to go postal.  No "animal abuse" charges could be strong enough to do justice to the horrific death those two dogs incurred.

Oh those poor pugs. I am THAT person that regularly checks cars in parking lots and will have people paged in stores to go take care of their animal. It's senseless and makes me want to go postal too Callie.

Oh, man... rest in peace to those poor pugs.  I hope the women got a SERIOUS education from this experience and will never ever ever consider anything like that again.  If it takes fines to bring that message home, so be it!

Oh Callie that is so sad!  Our SPCA put this out and made it available for all http://www.spcawake.org/site/DocServer/Hotcarflyer.pdf?docID=341

it would be better without the info about them but it can at least be distributed.  I usually keep a few in my car and give them out if I see someone about to leave their dog in the car.

Bugsy is sleeping near me and dropping silent but deadly's on a regular basis PU

I was thrilled earlier thinking I had finished the federal return and then printed it and found mistakes the software made - i answered the questions accurately so looks like many hours ahead of me trying to figure this out Crying Mistake was in our favor too so this could be very bad.

New client in a bit who has limited/broken English and I have stuffed ears.  not a good combo

Karen, that flier is nice but doesn't list a starting temp -- so most of the people it needs to reach, probably figure it's OK unless the temp is *warm* to start with.  ie, well, it's only 70 out so it's OK  since clearly it's not 90.  Poor pugs :(

Bugsy, dude, go air out your butt!

I have about an inch of one baby sock complete :)  For my cousin's baby.  It's the first time knitting socks, and it's just the cuff, so wish me luck when I get to things like heels and toes Stick out tongue

Does anyone with a 4-6 month old baby want to measure a foot for me??? :)  circumference and length, please!  I don't want to get her hopes up since I'm not yet convinced that a wearable product will emerge at the end so I haven't told her I'm making them for her yet....

I just put a lot of faith in my husband and sent him to a furniture store to check out and buy a couch...that I haven't seen yet!  I picked 2 out online, and he decided to go with the one I like better.  I know it will look great, but this would be a first for me!  I also had him go ahead and look at and buy the dresser and nighstand for baby boy's room while he was there too that I had already seen!  He earned some brownie points from me because now I don't have to drive to Arlington with a 2 year old in tow.  I tend to like what he likes before he likes what I like so I am sure since I picked it and he agreed, it will be fine.

That is so sad about those pugs.  :(  I know I missed a ton of specifics but had to breeze through the thread today.  Just a few more days and I will be a free woman from taxes for awhile!!!!  whooohooooo!!!!  Good thoughts to those who need them!

Callie, that's such a sad and horrible story.  Even if someone isn't particularly dog savvy, they should know better than to leave anything alive in a closed car on a hot day - even a plant.

Tina, I second the *goo gone* suggestion.  That stuff will take anything sticky off any surface without doing damage and it smells pretty good too - nice orange scent. You should be able to find it at any hardware store.

When I cruised through Trader Joe's Sunday they were handing out samples of green beans laced with a bit of chopped hard boiled egg and feta cheese.  I never would have thought of that combination, but it was really good. I'll definitely have to remember that.

I'm beyond mindless today....entering zombie mode!

    Those poor pugs....that's awefull!

    • Gold Top Dog

((hugs)) to all who need them... seems like too many today.

I used goo-gone on my CR-V to take the stupidly huge dealer sticker off the back and it totally dulled the finish. I will never use it on car paint again.

I'm trying to renew my Tracfone and the coupon codes won't work. I'm getting so frustrated. I even called their help line and Fernando couldn't help me because I was calling from my Tracfone and he told me to call back from a different phone. Ugh!

I have a four month old, but he has giant feet, so not sure if his measurements would be appropriate...

    • Gold Top Dog

That would be great!  Thanks, Grab!  Too big isn't quite an issue (babies grow, eventually) so as long as they aren't too small I'm good.  It would also help me judge proportionality somewhat.... the baby is now just about 3.5 months, so by the time I finish them assume 4.5-5 months anyway so it's all a guess really, although the more data I have the better I can guess.  I'm making them super stretchy so all should be good :)

Poor pugs... if you wouldn't sit in the car, you shouldn't leave an animal in it. Is it really that difficult?

So, I am allergic to the cat, among a few other things. They recommend this product called Allerpet, or Dander Seal, to reduce the allergens on the cat, or something. I have no clue. Anyone ever use this stuff? I think I am allergic to the dogs a little bit they said (I don't know what they told me, at that point, I was so near passing out it wasn't funny). I can bathe the dogs, or at least Luke, who sleeps in my bed, more often (umm... right now I do no more than once a more) and maybe washing my bedding more often would be good too. I think what I need to do really is work on my fear of needles and get the darn allergy shots.

so much going on lately and don't even know where to begin. I'm trying not to post too much info lately but I do want to say hello and good health (mental and otherwise!) vibes to everyone.

Thank god spring is finally here!

Tina, wax and grease remover works quite well and it does nothing to the paint. I work for an auto upholstery shop that deals with sunroofs too, we see duck tape frequently on busted sun roof glass.

    • Gold Top Dog

That is so sad Callie. I can't believe people are so DUMB when it comes to that stuff. Honestly...would they like to sit in a car turned off with the windows up in 90 degree weather???! THINK!! Those poor dogs.

We had a guy come over tonight to measure the basement for carpet. We're ready to get that done with....It will be so nice to have another area to retreat to in the house. So far we just have one TV which is in our bedroom. Sometimes when DH has friends over for UFC fights I almost dread it b/c I can't go to bed! They're too loud! So getting the basement done is a priority this summer.

Remi is really wound up tonight. not sure what his deal is. He got a run with me and chuck it plus an hour outside to play. I have a feeling sleep will be difficult for us both tonight....ugh.
