    Greetings from Florida

Howdy, folks. I'm Frank and my family and I live in Orlando. We've got a great 10 year old Black Lab/ Pit Bull mix named Misty. We adopted her as a rescue when she was 10 months old (she'd been abandoned,) and she was already dog-aggressive and men-suspicious! We've both come a long way, though, and we're looking forward to getting to know as many of you as humanly or 'caninely' possible.

Hi and welcome!  Hope you will share some pictures of your Lab!

Welcome, Frank!  Misty sounds like she found the right people to adopt her. :)

Thanks, one and all. Still trying to figure out how to add/upload a photo or 2; do you get the sense that I'm not exactly the sharpest computing spoon in the shed? You'd be right; stay tuned...

Hi *waving from Altamonte* -- except I'm downtown at work LOL

There are actually a few of us here in Flooor-daaa.  It's great to meetcha!

If your pics don't already reside somewhere online (if so the directions are different) Uploading pics isn't hard but it's not exactly explained well.  Look up to the "white words" (red background) and click on "Photos".

Then, in the first "paragraph in small type in a box" click on "Upload a photo".

The next screen says "The Photo you are Uploading" -- and right under that is a grey box to click on .  It almost looks like you're supposed to fill in the rest of the page and you don't need to.  Just click that grey box.

Next screen -- look to the right and click on "Browse" , and then find the area on your computer where the picture is and double click on it.  But then be SURE to click the grey "SAVE" button as well.

I think in the next screen you have to click "Publish" at the bottom. (I can't go any further without actually uploading one and I'm at work).

Wait a minute or 5 and then click on your own sign in name at the top and then "Photos" from there --

To then POST that picture, go to that "Photos" section in your own "dashboard" (cute, huh?) and click on that picture.

    BUT YOU AREN'T DONE YET.

At the bottom of that picture when it comes up will be a little tab at the bottom about "sizes".  Choose the one you want and when THAT comes up, copy the URL from the top of your browser.  THAT is what you'll put in a post.

Then when you "reply" or start a post and you're typing in the big white box, you click on the little "tree" Icon in the row of icons above where you type.  That's where you paste that URL (and if your picture resides elsewhere online -- just get the URL of where that is and you can put that here instead).  Down at the bottom of that box you click "Insert".

    Good luck

Hi Callie. I followed your instructions (very clear and concise, by the way, thanks!) but when I get to the 'big white box' where I type a reply, I see no icons at all, let alone a little tree. Should I be selecting the icon from the options tab on the reply screen? What am I missing? Be patient with me...

At the top of where you're reading this post -- look to the right pretty well straight across from my name.  When you click "Reply" there it will give you a new screen with my post in grey at the top and then a white box at the bottom for you to type in.  JUST above that white box is a row of icons -- starts with B .... I .... U (for bold, italic & underline) and continues across with paragraph alignment and numbering options, then a "chain" which is how you embed a link, then a 'broken' link (which I've never gotten to 'fix' a broken link LOL) and then a little green tree.  That's where you click to put in the picture

*waving from the east coast!* Hi there!

If you are using any other browser than Internet Explorer, you probably won't see the options.

Yep -- leave it to the owner of the rarest of all breeds of pirate the Greater Smyrnian Dune Terror to know that one.  hmmmmm!! --  then again, she also has Wendy -- mother to ALL the Lost Boys.  yep, yep.

(not to be lost on onlookers that it's ME who has Tinkerbell in captivity ... so I gots the corner on the pixie dust!!)

Hi, Callie, I'm back. Did everything you said, got to the correct screen: no icons!! I don't know what's up, but I'll try to fill my little gallery with some and see if folks can see her that way. Curioser and curioser...

If you are using any other browser than Internet Explorer, you probably won't see the options.

If you are using Google Chrome, she's right, you won't see the icons.  (Likewise, using Chrome on these forums, when you create paragraphs, they also won't form correctly and will make it look like one big run-on paragraph.)

However, if you're using Internet Explorer or Firefox, the icons will appear correctly.

When you hit the Reply button on each post (the one that has a little blue pushpin) it should look like this:

Do you see the Smiley Face?  That's for inserting Emoticons.  Two images to the left is the "photo" of a Tree.  When you hover your cursor (arrow) over it, a little box pops up that says "Insert/edit image".  When you click on that link, a small window will open up and you paste in the Direct Link to your photo saved on another site like Photobucket.  Then click the Insert button.  (You don't need to add any descriptions.)

When you insert it, the image will appear the way mine has above, and may be HUUUGE if your original link is huge.  If so, you can grab the corners of the image and squish the image to be smaller.  I almost did that with the image above, but it was so squished you couldn't read it. :)

    Hope this helps.  Welcome aboard!!
