Oh gosh I am just so sorry. You knew something was off, you'd been saying so for days, once again you were in tune w/ him to know something was off, that was a wonderful bond! And for him to have been doing things that made him happy, right up to his last moments, as heartbreaking as it is, there is at least some comfort there. Crying

I'm all teary reading this, and so sorry for your loss. I know how special Billy was to you (and to all of us here, too). I suddenly realized that today would have been my mother's birthday. Do you suppose that God wanted her to mind Billy the Venturin' Cocker SpanYell because, of all the people at the Bridge, she would take the best care of a dog that was going to be coming there on her special day????

I'm sure that Thor and Rusty and Mr. Ears were waiting for Billy at the Bridge. What a horrible loss for you guys tho.

I'm so sorry Callie. This thought came to mind while I was reading your post - figured you might get some comfort from it: Billy's heart gave out because he has used it so much and stretched it soooooo big giving joy and love to your family and everyone he's met - it wasn't weak, the love was too strong. Wink (((((hugs)))))

You know, that's a darned good way of saying it.

I still feel numb ... and at least we don't have to feel like we didn't do "enough" because we did ALL we could have. Even yesterday afternoon -- it was a last minute decision to go up there and leave him with Sherica so Dr. Bailey could see him first thing. You can't even know how I would have felt had he died on me here alone.

The angels were busy organizing this one I think -- and all of you are right. For a little buffy English cocker, he had a major crowd to meet him up there! I can just see the whole bunch of IMHA dogs alone.
