Monday morning muddle

    Monday morning muddle

Why was I up at 5:30 on a holiday?  I'm not on the schedule for today and DH just has to go in and do his air shift much later in the day.  At least one breath catching day.

Gonna keep this short a sweet.  Tried to start a chat yesterday and I got the Oppps.  Hopefully the forum gods like me today!

Snow day today!!  We got about 10 inches of snow last evening and it took me completely by surprise.  So this morning I am snuggling on the couch with my Riley girl on one side and Charlie on the other, working on my laptop answering work emails, etc.  I could get used to this.

Had a wonderful time this weekend with BIL and his family.  Went to a local water park on Saturday which was so much fun!  Riley had a blast!

oh dear Bugsy had a very good sleep last night, at least that's what it appears to be, he is chirpier than he's been in a while and FULL of energy.  Ugh.

Well we have very nice weather today - my apologies to those who had winter weather yesterday or expecting it today.   At least you aren't under a fire watch for the 5th day in a row.  We are so dry, the grass is still the winter dried stuff, the sun intense, and strong winds.  There were 100 fires in the state Saturday, some of a very good size.  There was one in north Raleigh at a high end golf course community that was fairly bad but didn't get to the houses, but ruined a few holes and some natural areas. Started by someone's cigarette butt (that was what they reported) just a reminder that if you smoke be responsible, tossing the butt is not only littering but dangerous.

if this dog flings a toy at me one more time Angry I had better get out and run him

Here's a borrowed funny from FB:

    TEIAM....there, problem solved....

    Good morning !

I live in the northern half of the metro area and got about 5" of snow.  The southern half got at least 10".  I will take snow over fire any day.

Pretty much over the crud.  The water stopped flowing into the basement once the temps went below freezing again.  I got on the roof yesterday (before the blizzard conditions) to remove the last ice dam.  My partner has the day off and will be on snow blower duty while I'm at work.  I won't feel too bad for her....she LOVES it !

Trying to keep Baily entertained indoors all winter is challenging.  I'm glad it will be over soon.

Its a holiday for me...woot!  What do I have planned?  Prep for 1040 filing; place an ad on CraigsList for the motorcycle; finish laundry; and rake those stupid little pointy balls that fall off the trees in my back yard...I hate those things.  They hurt Buddy's feet.

Rick is having a new building built on the property.  He is downsizing his business because its been so incredibly slow lately.  He's going to move out of this current office/shop; and rent a place that's just an office; and utilize this new building as a shop for a while.  So, the concrete guys are supposed to start pouring the slab today.

    I don't get it.  Embarrassed

My caffeine deprived brain *thinks* this goes with the old "there is no I in team"  So, now it's been added.  End of problem.

I'm working today but DH is off.   I worked in the yard yesterday and thought my back would be killing me today but it's fine.  The weather couldn't be any more Springlike.  :)

Have a good day everyone and my condolences to those still dealing with Winter.

Would whoever opted to unplug me and leave me feeling like a dead battery be good enough to plug me back in please?

Wow 10" of snow with ice underneath. 10"!!! They were only calling for 1". Yep, they were a little off.

The problem is, I have an appt with the vet behaviorist for abbie today an hour away and it sounds like they got 10" too. And the weather person is saying we will get sleet today. Kind of worried about the drive. Think I should cancel?

    • Gold Top Dog
Julie, I think you should. Or at least call to discuss the possibility of canceling. Only very, very, very rarely have I regretted canceling a drive due to road conditions - usually I don't cancel, and then wish I had!

Busy, busy bee this week - not ignoring people, just have a long "catch up on" list :)

It's a partial holiday for me. I usually start work at 6:30 AM, and today I'm getting started at noon, well, at least seeing clients. I got started with some paperwork this morning at 8. If only it had been literacy and justice for all instead of liberty, my job would be oh so much easier right now. Can I just say that when I read data from one person on my team, it really makes me wish the team was TEIAM. Actually, that's not true, I love the team except for her. She drives me up a wall. Instead of asking a question when she doesn't get something, she waits a few weeks and doesn't bother doing it for a bit, until I ask why she hasn't been doing it. I just feel like if you're a typical adult, if you don't understand, you should be able to come to people with questions instead of just deciding to do nothing for weeks. I am also really pissed with her right now, though she doesn't know it, because she left a nasty note where everyone could read it.

On my agenda for this week, or hopefully today, finish research paper #1, finish personal statement, start research paper #2, mail in the remainder of my application.

14" of snow with ice under it.  Blizzard warning until noon.  Descriptions of spring and grass and budding trees indicate a streak of latent cruelty.  My wife got another snow day.  Blowing snow on the prairie  can be brutal.  A ground blizzard can sneak up on you -that's when the snow stays low to the ground.  You can see telephone poles and road signs, just not the road.

May have to work.  Not looking forward to driving into Mankato.

Yep, I've enjoyed winter enough this year.  I am ready for spring.  Those couple teaser spring days we had the other week were just far too nice!  I got all excited for spring only to have the cold and some snow back.  Ugh.

I have the day off today. It's Family Day.  So far I've cleaned my washing machine and now I am doing laundry.  DH has caulked around the shower and sink in the downstairs bathroom and it's pretty much ready to go.  Once the caulking has dried or whatever caulking does, I will clean it up and get some pretty towels and stuff in there and take photos!

We are cooking a turkey today.  I think it's like a 15lb one.....so we are eating turkey alllllll week.  I love that - it really doesn't bother me to eat turkey all week.  We should probably go and make stuffing or something.  I am hoping to eat a bit earlier tonight.
