    Wild Wednesday chatting

So, does Ocilla work for a head cold/maybe the flu?  Poor DH is absolutely miserable, while I'm only slightly miserable and can deal.  The cold plus is doing nothing for him....but then I thot it made me feel worse too so I just stopped using it, and started improving.  That's never happened before which is why I'm thinking maybe the flu.

That business done.....MORNING ALL!!  Supposed to be nice and warm here today....39!  Of course the low is supposed to be 26 and at the moment its 10.  But, if I can have some nice warm weather today later on, who cares?  Will no doubt have some dripping in the two windows that like to drip as the ice on the roof melts, but that can't be helped.  DS had a call yesterday and the guy does roof clearing and gave him the name of a chemical he uses that doesn't damage shingles, so will try to find some of that, however, can't let the boy up on a ladder unless someone is help to at least SEE him if he falls, so that will have to wait until later in the week.  And, hopefully with warmer temps all week now we'll lose a lot of it naturally.  I'm so very ready for spring!

We have sunshine today!!  That makes me a happy girl!

    Have a great day everyone!

I have to drive an hour there and an hour back for a meeting that will probably last 45 minutes.  That is all.

Not much excitement here.  DS had the early shift today, beginning at 7:30a, and was able to get up and out the door on time.

Only 2 more days until I get some snuggle time.  I really need it. Geeked

You're talking about Oscillococcinum??  It helps the *most* when you take it when you're just coming down with something - it bumps the immune system up.  It works for ANYTHING that you're sickening with -- from cold, flu to stomach virus (yes, seriously).  If you take it after you are already sick, it will help shorten the duration simply because it helps strengthen your own immune system.

**Take as directed** -- under the tongue and just let it dissolve.  Avoid caffeine (sorry, but it constricts the blood vessels and your body doesn't absorb the homeopathic as well). Take the 3 doses SIX HOURS APART -- set an alarm if you need to.  But it works on your body clock.  Not with food or drink (avoid food/drink for at least 15 minutes before/after -- this stuff has to absorb into your mouth)..

My best go-to to help kick anything viral (which is most any cold/flu) is St. John's Wort.  Yes, they take it as a relaxant, but it's also a darned good anti-viral.  (just don't take any other sort of relaxant like valerian at the same time).  But take 2-3 times what it says on the label as an 'adult' dose in order for it to help as an anti-viral.  And I usually take it in conjunction with echinacea.

    NEWS:

I got an email from Meg this morning (Pirate's Mom) and she's having her first official "observation" day today and would appreciate good thots and prayers that she'l be "awesome".  She will be -- the lady's gonna be a SUPERB teacher!!  But I promised we'd give her some support.

Feeling better here.  Still a bit gunky in the head but that will clear up.

We have had a huge warm up the past few days and some major melting going on.  Good on one hand, potential problems on the other.

Went into our finished basement last night only to discover by accident that we have a leak !  One corner was sopping wet and it wicked outward in both directions.  Pulled off the baseboard and peeled back the carpet. Squish squish squish.  My partner used the carpet cleaner to suck up as much as we could.  I went outside to move snow.  We have 3 foot wide eves so the snow was 2 feet from the foundation.  I moved what was left.  Major melting for several days when the ground is still frozen is not good.  Folks in the Red River Vally are preparing for MAJOR flooding.  Fargo North Dakota as started filling sandbags.  Their goal is 3 million.

I have the day off....what ever shall I do ??

Yay for Jake's job !  Yay for getting out of the house on time !!  My younger brother has bi-polar disorder.  I know how tough it can be.

Yay for Tina's upcoming cuddling !!

I'm buried in work and have to keep plugging away or the mountain will continue to grow.

Mindy, I'm glad you're feeling better.  Sorry about your soggy basement.

Tina, yay for your DS getting out the door on time.  I hope his first day goes well.  In answer to that age old question: do I have to choose between sex or chocolate?   lol

Son and DIL are in the hospital awaiting the birth of baby Jack.  Somebody forgot to tell Carrie that her due date had changed, so Jack is not 2 days early...he is 4 days overdue!  Another stubborn family member...LOL!

Nope. I heard it on the news the other day and couldn't help be feel happy. By the way Johnny - I read yesterday's post and I'm thrilled that Tessy only has one more treatment. Yay for both of you.

DH started getting sick yesterday too. This seems to happen quite a bit after a medic rotation. You couldn't find a guy who is more anal about germs but I don't think there's any way to stay completely safe when you're transporting sick people for 48 hrs. He offered to cover for another guy this next shift, so he'll be working 72 hrs straight starting tomorrow :(

I didn't sleep well last night and I'm swamped with work and grouchy. I'll feel better if I make a dent in some of this mess, so off I go. (if I get an Oops msg, you may read about me in the newspaper ;))

If this isn't karma, I don't know what is. Smile I'm a bit surprised to see the sun out today since the prediction was rain all week.  Clouds are gathering, so we'll see. Don't we have a three day weekend coming up?

My fuse is so short today that I wouldn't mind having that rooster.
