Wouldn't it be nice if...

Jaime may be going to that event. She mentioned coming to MD for some shows this summer.

How far is that one from say, Towson?

Yea!! That would be great if some I-doggers came! [:)] Our breed show is in Easton, MD which is about 1 hour 45 minutes from Towson.  The date is Aug 18-19.  Hopefully we can make this happen.  I can give people specifics if anyone is interested.  Here is our club's website.  I don't think the premium is posted yet, but should be soon.

Well I won't be up for any gatherings until this horrendous MOVING thing is done! That'll be about the middle end of July. There's apparently a nice place in Dallas called "The Pooch Patio" that might be nice for a get together...our Beagle Meetup Group uses that venue. And I am always a fan of Ft Woof [:)]

My show season starts up pretty good in Fall so many weekends during that time will be booked up. In my case at least...the longer and more notice I have the more likely I can make it [;)]

I'm planning on showing at that show in Easton, unless we're not talking about the same show.  (The one I'm talking about is 8/19.)  Maybe I'll meet some idog ppl there.  That would be pretty cool.

Nah, Jean, everyone should come to MICHIGAN!  We've got all sorts of lakes, we're about 30 minutes from a GREAT place to take the dogs for a swim in Grand Traverse Bay or just a bit further to Lake Michigan.

I'm in, Glenda! When are you hosting the party? [;)]

Hey, anytime works for me.  My RV should be coming home next weekend, unless Ryan's boss begs him to stay more of the summer, I've got a smallish guestroom and plenty of room for tents....an easily accessable bathroom on the lower level, the RV bathroom and plenty of trees and bushes!

That would be so much fun! We could definitely make it to Michigan [:D]

Anybody close to Hixton, WI? We're going camping there for a weekend in July!

I've not heard of the places Gina mentioned. Ft. Woof? Pooch Patio? I guess I've been asleep. I only heard about Dog Days because Doc posted about it. We went there and I got to meet his excellently behaved Golden.

As for setting up a meet, I guess someone just has to pick a spot and time, preferrably dog-friendly.

Excellent!! Well, feel free to PM me as I will definitly be there since its my kennel club putting it on, I will be around all weekend.  There is normally an Annapolis show that Sunday as well, but we are talking to the Annapolis folks and they may move their show to our Easton venue, so it may end up being a 3 day show.

Oohh, ooohhh, ooohhh!  This is so exciting!  I haven't heard of the Pooch Patio either.  Fort Woof is a lot of fun but may or may not work out for us since some of us have small dogs and some large and there are 2 sides to the park....unless we convene through the fence which is actually where Harley and Izzy usually end up at Fort Woof.  I think I talk to the big dog owners there just as much as the smaller dog owners.  Are there any other dog parks in DFW where the dogs can go off leash and all be in the same area???

Our stumbling block is that Shadow is not licensed in either Ft. Worth or Dallas. We had one (scary, to me) run at a dog park in Plano, although that was a year or so ago and Shadow was still intact. The Pooch Patio near Maple and Oak Lawn. That used to be a bit of a rough neighborhood (oh, sweet criminy) 20 years ago. I'd like to see it now, a generation later. I know they've done a lot neighborhood re-hab.

I'm just not in the habit of letting him off-leash. But it could still be fun.

I think the smaller dogs can go into the big dog area, but it's not reccomended. Daisy was at another dog park yesterday (one closer to me in North Richland Hills) and we went into the big park. She was playing with a trio of Boxers, and she got stepped on. She yelped for a minute but got up right away. I always ask the owners if the dogs are okay with small dogs. Daisy actually likes the bigger dogs.
Her favorite game is 'Chase Me' so we don't have to worry about tackling as much.

If there are any sight-hounds though, I don't bring her in. She looks like a rabbit when she runs, and that may get out of hand.

Michigan is alot closer to us than Alaska but I'm sure my dogs would enjoy Alaska more.  Especially in the colder parts of the year.  Anyone know the legalities of crossing the border with a dog?

Would it be okay if I came even though I am dogless right now?

I'd love to meet everyone!  And if Rupert came, wouldn't Annie be soooo jealous?  We'd get to squeeze his buns!
