Tina, I was so worried reading about Missy being missing.  Glad she was just shut in the closet.

Me, too.  My airhead DS has been know to leave doors open just enough where she could sneak outside (and he wouldn't notice), so I'm glad that wasn't the case.  It wasn't as cold here as last week, but with no front claws, she has limited defenses.  And she's not an outside cat (as if any sane cat would go out in the snow on purpose).

Ginger, here's hoping the show still goes on.

Tina - I am glad Missy is OK.  I was stressing just reading the story, praying nothing happened.

Ginger - I will send good weather vibes!  Man, 60 degrees, I knew I should have taken that job.

I am pretty much sick of winter.  It hasn't been that bad here, I just can't remember the last time I saw the sun.  I am seriously thinking about hitting the tanning booth this weekend just to get some light therapy.

Heading to the dentist this afternoon.  I actually don't mind since it means I can get out of the office.   We don't have any special plans this weekend, so we will have to come up with something fun to do!

Glad that Missy wasn't MIA outside Tina. When I had cats, that kind of thing happened a few times too. They love to hide.

I'm volunteering with the Homeward Bound group this afternoon for a few hours to help them get their winter newsletter out. I'm happy to be able to leave work a few hours early and do something different.

They think the filly that died Wednesday had acquired a bacterial infection, possibly from eating mom's poop. Foals eat the mare's poop all the time but I guess if the foal has a compromised immune system, it can be deadly. Sad.

I should complain about our weather but today was the 3rd day of driving in thru fog so thick you'd probably run a light or stop sign if you didn't know it was there. They say we might get rain on Sunday and that'll clear some of this out. I hope they're right. I still wouldn't trade a month of this for a week of what people getting pounded with snow are having to deal with.

Man, the Super Bowl is bringing out the crazies around here.....no not really, but yesterday, as Gina mentioned there was a bomb scare at the tallest building in Dallas that was luckily nothing.  Today another bomb scare at the Cowboys Stadium that was also a flase alarm but there is also a supposed gunman loose at the local county hospital here putting it on lockdown.  No reports of shots fired and they can't seem to find the guy, but reports of a man with a long gun this morning.  That one is still ongoing.  Makes me want to stay out of all public places for the next few weeks!  Plus, ATT's 3g network hasn't been working at all barely since last Friday which my husband (an ATT land line employee) thinks is also related to the Super Bowl coming.  DFW is super busy right now with the Rodeo and Super Bowl stuff going on but this is just crazy!

Speaking of the Rodeo, my friend invited Devin and I to sit in her family's box next Thursday and I can hardly wait to see her reaction to her first rodeo!  She is going to LOVE IT!  And these are fabulous seats too!

Thanks for the placenta vibes.  It is nice to hear other people say they have the same thing that resolved itself.  As I am sure the case with anyone, I just don't want to deal with any complications.  It's especially scary when I have a 2 year old who I do most of the caring for.

Alright, off to finish my last set of payroll reports then I am getting a facial this afternoon as a treat!

My blood pressure is still high today just checked its 160/107 I don't know what to do to bring it down. I took my medicine already wish this headache would go away. I called my doctors left a message asking what I should do, so I'll probably get a phone call after 5pm.

Any suggestions on what I should do?

If it were me, I'd head to an urgent care clinic. High BP is nothing to mess around with and the fact that it's giving you a headache is a sign that your body is hurting. Try not to get overly stressed about it because that'll just make it increase and make the headache worse. I wouldn't suggest taking anything for the headache other than tylenol. What does your BP usually run?

    • Gold Top Dog

Well it's been normal for awhile sometimes it's a bit high but not like this but the passed week or so I been getting these headaches which is when I usually my bp is high I've had hbp since I was 18 I'm 32 it usually runs from 136/87 but the top number  sometimes might run to 150.

Only urgent care here for me is the health department which is my doctor and I was there wednesday and he just changed my meds and they gave a pill when i was there because my bp was 158/112 they said it would come down fast but 25 mins later it only went down 156/104.

Monday or Tuesday I was walking in my house and felt like I was gonna pass out and I started to sway to the chair and my dad was there and said I seen that. I'm still feeling that way at times. I really don't have money for an ER visit.  I have been taking Tylenol 8 hour but it's not helping Sad

make sure you avoid salt and drink a lot of water to flush it out.  Salt retains water in your blood and your blood volume increases which might be increasing your BP.

Hope you get a call back from your doc soon.

Were they monitoring you to see how much it came down after they gave you the new med? Were they okay with it still being that high? The upper number (systolic) isn't as big of a concern as the lower number (diastolic). So, although 136/87 is a little high, it's not too bad. Anything over 100 for the diastolic would mean your meds aren't working and you need them to give you something different.  If you need to wait it out for your dr. to call, I'd suggest lying down in a quiet place and try to relax. It might not help a lot but it might be enough to bring it down a little.

Coolio!!!  I do so love the rodeo.  Tucson's rodeo is next month... sigh. :(

Barbara, bummer about your Barcelona trip!

    Glad Missy is ok.

Ready to get away for the weekend.  Mis-communication means I won't be leaving until Saturday instead of tonight, but getting away will be good.

    PS, my new chant goes:

    NO

    MO

    SNO

    !!!!!

The nurses were more concerned than my doctor was really. The pill they gave me at the office was to help bring my bp down and 25 mins later they rechecked my bp and it was 156/104. All my doctor said was lets try a new med and see if that helps. I'll wait for them to call hopefully they do call back.

If it goes to 186/107 again I'm just gonna head to the ER, thanks for the advise gonna lay down.

Paige, thumbs up on the new chant.

Absolutely get yourself to Urgent care.  BP is nothing to mess around with.

Cathy, how well I remember the tule fog in the valley!  Yuck.  Driving with your windows down so you could hear what you couldn't see........

I did a return for the NICEST people today.  Just really good folks.  I really need to get myself a few qualifying brats....these folks were getting over ten grand back federal, plus almost 2 grand state!  Wow.

Haven't caught up yet, so good vibes to all in need of them!

Man, 60 degrees, I knew I should have taken that job.

LOL, told you!   Actually it has been really cold and we are just getting a tease for today/tomorrow/sunday then the cold and snow is back.

MMMkay, please dont hit me with the 2x4 but.....I just got back from lunch at the park.  I threw a blanket on the ground, in the warm sun, and laid on my belly reading my book.  IT WAS AWESOME!!!!

I thought I was gonna have to go for some artificial vit D therapy soon too but...I think my 30 minutes in the park renewed my energy!

    • Gold Top Dog

Gin, no worries about me hitting you.  We've got 70 degrees and blue skies. Big Smile  In ten more minutes I'll be out of here and heading home to enjoy the rest of this gorgeous day outside; filling in the holes in the backyard.  lol

    • Gold Top Dog

Nah, you're safe from me too.  However, I sure would like to be able to SEE my yard!
