    what should i do?

hello,i purchase a poodle puppy about 3 months old last month,i give him so much love and care, but 2 days ago, he just all the sudden got sick, till to the point that i have no choice to keep him suffer to put him to sleep
i feel horrible for me to doing this to him, but the doctor said even we spend a few more thousand dollar on him, he may heal, but yet he will still have mental problem for the rest of his life, (by then, he already have a high fever, shaking, dizzyness and even blindness)
it just broke my heart and no other choice to do the last step
    later on,the doctor even told me i shoundn't blame myself,because it's a natural virus
i guess which mean he already have the virus even before i bought him
all the sudden it just made me so mad, because i can't believe someone is that nonresponable, and i wish i can do something about it
not just because for the past month,i already spend over thousand dollar on him
but also everything that me and my family give it to him
i just wondering should i suit them
it just make me so mad and sad
it's not the puppy fault and if i know he can heal, i am willing to spend another thousand dollar on him, but ....
now i just wish if someone can tell me what i can do
i dont want someone who like the person who sell me my baby can just take my money and get away like this, can someone give me some suggestion or what should i do about it
it will really help me a lot, thankyou

It sounds like your puppy caught distemper. I am no expert but I had a foster dog who had it also. Most likely your dog caught distemper from around your house. I am sure some experts will chime in. Ellie (my foster dog with distemper) also had to be put to sleep. Did you get him his shots? She had her shots but she already had distemper when she came to me. She only lived a month and the viris didnt start showing up until 2-3 weeks after I had her. I think it usually takes about that long for signs to show but I am not sure, she had a paw that one toe had to be amputated on so she was on anti-biotics which can sometimes help.

It is very progressive, she had to be put to sleep within a week of us realizing she had distemper. There is little vets can do and the vet is correct that if it was distemper and he was having seizures nothing can be done, the animal will never be the same. I am extremly sorry for your loss, I know how it feels to not know what to do. I kept expecting Ellie to survive, we thought she was doing really well, then the seizures started and after that, the most humane thing to do is to hold them while they pass away and not let them suffer anymore. I still feel guilty like there was something more I could have done but I don't think there was.

Again I am sorry and I am sure someone can give you some better advice, but it sounds like distemper to me. I know it is very hard for you but I doubt if you will be able to sue them. Even if the dog contracted distemper at the breeder's house it is very hard to prove. That is another reason why everyone needs to be careful in picking who you buy a dog from.

I have no advice but wanted to welcome you here and most importantly wanted to tell you how sorry I am for your loss.

Did the vet tell you what he had?  Like give you a name for it??  Im sorry your going through this!  I would definately take some sort of action against those people because they do not need to be breednig or selling dogs.  Poor thing.

I'm so sorry for your horrible situation.  If your puppy does in fact have Distemper, then euthanizing him is the likely outcome.  I can't even imagine how heartbreaking this must be for you.  Do you mind my asking where you bought your puppy?  From a Pet Store?  The newspaper?  A breeder?  You may have some recourse if you bought from a Pet Store - at the very least they will (should) refund your money.  If you bought from a reputable breeder, they should replace the puppy with a healthy one.  If you bought from a BYB (not-so reputable breeder), my guess is that they won't offer to do anything.
