Ginger?  Are you close to the town with the dead birds and fish?  That is bizarre and kind of scary!

I saw that on the news!!!  WTF???  Dead birds everywhere!

Please advise... Before Christmas (say Dec. 10ish) I put my laptop up for sale.  Right away I had a student interested (I work for a college).  She came down to check it out and was excited about buying it as a present for her brother.  I told her I'd let her know as soon as my new one arrived.  My new one arrived a few days before Christmas.  I had sent her multiple e-mails before it even arrived b/c I was tracking it.  When it got here I cleaned up the old one and let her know she could come pick it up.  She didn't come and didn't come.  Then our college closed for the week between Christmas and NY so I took it home, and e-mailed her again to say she could come get it at my house.  Still no response.  So it's been almost a month since she agreed to buy it, and it's been ready almost 3 weeks.  I want to sell it b/c I need to start paying off the new one.  I found another buyer who came to look yesterday.  Two days ago I e-mailed the first girl and said please contact me before Wed. and let me know if you are interested....still nothing.  Now I have someone else ready to hand me cash today.  I'm thinking I'll e-mail the original girl one more time and say if I don't hear back within 24 hours I will assume she no longer wants it.  Is that fair? 

Good news: the missing remote control has been found unharmed!

Better news: I managed to get my espresso machine working w/out threatening anyone's life.

Liesje, it sounds like you've been more than fair already. I think giving another 24 hours is generous. I'm going to guess the financial reality of buying the thing took a bit longer to sink in than the "hey cool new computer" part did, so the original buyer may be having second thoughts and just not want to say anything. IMO, go with the first person who puts the money in your hand. The original girl has already had lots of opportunities if she was really serious about it.

There are Dead birds in one area  they say somewhere in the neighborhood of a couple of thousand.  They are also finding dead fish in one location of the river....only fish are "drum".  They think the fish thing is a virus or something only effecting the drum?  They are testing some of the fish that were still alive.  Only in a 20 mile stretch,near Ozark, AR which is about 70 miles south of us.

They said originally with the birds they thought they were killed by the storm that ripped through ARK.  Now they seem to think it had something to do with some NY Eve fireworks and it scared them and they ran into each other and buildings causing death.  I dont know bout you guys but that really doesnt make much since to me.   It's not like there has never been any fireworks displays before and I dont remember thousands of birds dying in one location.   I am more inclined to believe the storm thing.  They have found parts and pieces of the firestation as far away as 140 miles from the tornado site.  The birds were in Beebe AR which is closer to Little Rock.  I have noticed all the birds seem to be Black Birds how weird is that?

They said originally with the birds they thought they were killed by the storm that ripped through ARK.  Now they seem to think it had something to do with some NY Eve fireworks and it scared them and they ran into each other and buildings causing death.  I dont know bout you guys but that really doesnt make much since to me.   It's not like there has never been any fireworks displays before and I dont remember thousands of birds dying in one location. 

Actually I did see a video where they had some clips of several people and their "theories".  Weapons test did seem to crop up as well as magnetic atmosphere and the end of the world.   They have also mentioned some dead birds in Louisianna and Argentina so???  who knows.  I think it had something to do with all the storms that day but hey who am I ? lol

Me too. I wouldn't waste anymore time with emails or you might lose out on the person who wants to buy it now.

  I guess if I worked in retail, I'd be more worried about pissing off the jackmonkey in front of me rather than the one on the phone who can't throw anything at me. lol   I get put on hold constantly when I call in parts orders to vendors.  I'm always told "can you hold, I'm with a customer?"  What am I, chopped liver?  lol

Liesje, sell that laptop to the first person with the cash.  That girl has had ample time to respond unless her computer broke and she hasn't been able to access her email.    

Johnny, I'm old and use coupons but I still love ya', you little jackmonkey, you.  I do get ticked off at the people who act surprised when given the total to pay.  They're scrambling around looking for their wallet or checkbook as though it never dawned on them that they had to pay for that stuff they bought.

Karen, re your FB post about Bugsy and exercise.  He told me he was very disappointed that you guys didn't get him that heated lap pool for Christmas.

I use coupons too and have since I started grocery shopping for my dad when I was only 16. Back then, they didn't care if you brought the product or not, they just tallied up all the coupons and gave it back to you in cash. That was sweet!! Now days, the cashiers will hunt thru piles of your stuff to make sure you actually bought that can of tomato sauce that you have a 25 cent coupon for . I don't carry a coin purse tho. I rarely even carry much cash and use my ATM card more than anything.

Me either!  I didn't think they made those any more but maybe the little old ladies that use them have a secret source.  All my aunts and my mom had their little coin purses that they carried everywhere.  That was back when you could actually buy something with a few coins. lol

Ahem...I have a coin purse that I use and I'm not terribly little or old.  A local leather shop was going out of business a few years ago and I bought a purse, matching wallet, and the coin purse (because the wallet didn't have one built in).  In my defense, it is rather stylish, has a keyring attached to a small chain, plus a pocket that my driver's license fits into.  I can throw a few dollars in it, take my license, stick the whole thing in my pocket, and I am purse-free.
