Marlee Matlin was awesome last night.  Tonight's our double whammy (and usually we do NOTHING on New Years/Hogmanay) and we're going to City Walk/Hard Rock Live to hear Classic Albums Live do "Saturday Night Fever" -- where ELSE can you go spend $25 per person on a live concert on New Years Eve?? 

But I gotta go get groceries now so Wonderful Husband can cook tomorrow.  NY's Day is his turf and he fixes the best salmon I ever ate!!

I don't think it's as cold today as it was yesterday, but my hands are freezing.  I need to toss my rice bag in the microwave or make a big mug of something hot. Three people told me it's supposed to start raining again tonight.  We'll see.

Today is in the low 40's so we are getting some slow melting today, and high 40's tomorrow should help too, but slowly.  things will no doubt be a tiny bit muddy......

I am just puttering around today, don't really have the ambition to do much.  I did take down all the Christmas decorations and put them all away.  We have five large rubbermaid tubs FULL of decorations and another one will be filled once the lights come down in the spring - we have not bought any of the decorations ourselves either.  They are all from my mother and my aunt who both go WAYYYY overboard on Christmas decorations - but it's fantastic!  I couldn't wait to get the decorations down this year, we didn't have time to put as many up as we normally do and our tree was a dud so I was sick of looking at it.  Now I just have to get DH to drag it outside to the spare lot/firepit.  

We have DH's parents coming over tommorrow to help put the shower in our washroom downstairs.  I want to say that it should be done tomorrow, but everytime I think that - it's never done.  LOL.  So......hopefully good progress will be made.  Heh.  Then we can have two washrooms again!  Oh and more importantly, we can move on to another project - HARDWOOD.  LOL.  I hate carpet.

Joyce - I just watched the noon news and they said we could possibly have snow in the valley tomorrow morning. It's pretty iffy but I think that would be a very cool way to start the year.

Ginger - I'm so glad you're okay. I just saw the news about the tornado on the news. I'm sorry for those that were greatly affected by it.

I went to Sports Authority and found a great pair of running shoes but no workout clothes. It seems that "tight-fit" is the trend for pants right now. I even tried a size that didn't show more than I wanted, but they were too big in the waist. Stoopid style for working out!! I found a Nike pullover hoodie and it was really cute but not for $45.

Barb, can't wait to see your photos with your new toy!  Julie, that would be terrible luck to come down with a cold right now.  Fingers crossed that you're not getting sick.  Ginger, I'm so glad you checked in and are safe.  Terrible about the damage and loss of life. Johnny, enjoy your last day of pigging out! lol  I'm glad your knee is finally feeling better.  Joyce, stay warm.  Glenda, give the dogs kisses for being so good even when they had permission to go see dad. :)  Melinda, I'm glad your back is better.  OK, that's all I remember. lol

The dogs had a great time at the park and we had a great time at the gardens, despite the windy conditions, it was very pleasant temps.  Lunch was very good and I don't think we'll need to eat dinner, we're both so stuffed. 

I need to clean the carpets this weekend but I think I'll put it off a day or so.  I feel a nap coming on. zzzzzzzz

My mil is here for another week...very nice woman, but nearly two weeks is so long....

I put all my Christmas decorations away and have to say that I'm happier now that they're put away than I was when I took them out. I just can't handle the cluttered look that we had going on.

I'd donated some money to the equine rescue here and it was part of a drawing for 1 yr of riding lessons. I had a fantasy going on in my head that I would win but they just announced the winner and it was me. Darn!

I had a great afternoon taking care of ME!!!  Got a great deal on some frozen egg rolls for a dinner party in a week or so, and 50% off a Christmas gift pack of lotion and body wash and lip balm which means I, essentially, just scored the lip balm and body wash for FREE plus another $3 off the regular price of the lotion!!  Going to eat dinner and hang out w/the dogs for a while, then might go see my sister.

Munchies and pop bought, beer is in the fridge, dinner pre-made.. I am done!! *yawn* Tomorrow I am staying in bed until after 8.. Hopefully... I'm supposed to have visits with Maze tomorrow morning but I'm not sure what's going on there since the residents are afraid of her. My team leader says to wait until we can do an evaluation.. So I guess we'll go to the park instead. I can't not do something with her on Saturday. She's skin me alive.

New Year's Eve always makes me depressed. I'm trying to get motivated to take the decorations down and clean the house.  It would be a perfect time since the pets are all asleep and DH is working.
