Mindless New Year's Eve Chatter

Well goodbye 2010 and I hope 2011 brings everyone much joy, happiness, and fun.

No plans for tonight other than hang around here.  Potty training has been going a little better, she stayed dry yesterday afternoon and went in the potty twice.  She's totally messing with us since I found her in her room looking like this:

Yeah, she runs this place!  She is starting to get it, but having a hard time with the timing of the whole thing.  She tells us she has to go as she's going.  But thats OK.

Hope everyone has a fun night and stays safe!

    Take care

P.S. Deb I love those boots!

HAHAHA! Lisa she has you guys figured out for sure.

Happy New Year's Eve everyone. No plans here either, the hubs has a cold and I just want a quiet day of reflection before the new year.

OMG Lisa that photo is hysterical - thank you for posting (sorry for laughing Riley!)

No party plans but I do want to take a long walk on some trails with the beast and he's going to get a bath and his nails done.

We'll go out tonight but early like we always do on Friday's - honestly NYE makes me nervous on the roads.

My friends in Sydney have already brought the new year in, our friends and family in the UK will do so at 7pm ET - we always call over there and start celebrating early.

Bugsy was just out in the yard playing with "Muffin" a teeny schnoodle, she used to be terrified of him but now she loves him. It is quite funny to watch because she bounces and is only the size of his head. Her owner walks every day so we see them often but today was the first day she ran up into the yard on her own.  Tis cute.

DH is still in bed and I am ready to hit the road for our walk and B is impatient too.

OK everyone have a good last day of 2010 - wow time just flies - a new decade, where did the last one go.

    Be safe tonight all

Lisa, that picture is priceless and you need to hang on to it for future blackmail purposes. lol

It's very pleasant weather here and we plan on taking full advantage of our extra day off.  We're taking all five dogs to the park for a good run and romp and then a trip to the botanical gardens and lunch at a favorite spot.  We'll stay home tonight as we aren't willing to brave the roads with impaired drivers who aren't smart enough to call a cab.

    Stay safe everyone!

Morning all!  Shortly I'm going to break a trail out into the field so everyone can get a long romp today.  DH is sort of off, but needs to go in for a bit anyway, so since he'll be going a little later today, we'll get the crew out for a good romp.  With all the snow, they've mostly been using the tie out which isn't a lot of fun for them.

Hopefully DS can get figured out what needs figuring out with his truck today....now he's thinking it's probably the ignition coil.  But, hopefully I won't have to run all over with him today.  Two days of that is really rather wearing.

Supposed to be in the low 40's today, and then almost 50 tomorrow!!  Goodbye snow!!  Yeah, it's pretty, but, it limits our movements and I'm not wild about that.  I LOVE to get out and walk with the dogs but just haven't been able to lately, so I'll be thrilled to see some of it melt away.

We too are staying in tonight.  And, I'm hoping DS doesn't get a lot of calls and have to go out with the idiots tonight.

    Have a wonderful day all!

ETA:  Absolutely LOVE that pic, Lisa.....do be sure to hang on to it for blackmail purposes later on.  I have a great one of my oldest son laying on his back in his little yellow baby bathtub, sucking his toes!

Goodbye and goodriddance 2010! This fall has sucked- I sort of managed to get some holiday mojo going about the 23rd, but it just collapsed on me this week as soon as Giftmas was over, which is kind of pathetic.

I'm feeling terribly antisocial, which I hate, but I don't really trust my judgement about people right now. Staying home tonight and watching zombie movies and sewing.

It's just amazing what could happen in one year, goodbye 2010!  Right now flashback music is playing in my mind with memories all dazzled up of events that happened over the last year.  Come on life, throw me everything you got, I'm ready for 2011!!!

    Have fun everyone!

Lisa, that pic is too funny. Glad to hear you are making progress! She will get the timing down soon although for you it will prob feel like forever haha

I am glad 2010 is over. It was a rough one. however, some good things have come from it: I found my 2 feet at work and decided to grow a backbone. Although I retired neiko from sar, Abbie is doing great and its nice to give her a job with a purpose she enjoys. I'm also glad that I ended the year with this surgery. That way I start the new year off feeling a whole lot better.

I do feel like I have a cold now on top of the surgery stuff. Plus having a broken nose feels very weird. I need to go out at some point and get some saline solution but I want to wear a bag over my swollen face to do it lol.

We ended up NOT going to Lake Charles for a gambling trip.  Wednesday was a washout and we didn't want to drive a long distance in it...good thing too...it was nasty.  Yesterday, he needed to work for a bit...so going for a day trip went flying out the window too.  HOWEVER, since I was left on my own and was bored...I got a wild hair and decided to buy a new camera.  I am so excited to learn about it as well as learn how to take decent shots.  Its a Nikon D3100.  Its my first camera that will allow interchangable lenses.  The one that came with it is very nice....but, I can already tell I'm going to need another one with more zooming capabilities.  I can get longer distance shots with this one, but still need to trim them to view them closeup.  The battery is charging...but I will be boring you with my practice shots soon!  Big Smile

We are supposed to go to Rick's local sports bar for a party this evening...we will probably go for a little while but won't stay for the big hoorah...we don't like to be on the roads on NYE either; and we've got Bruder to worry about.  He signed up for bringing cookies and queso...so should at least make a showing.

    Great day everyone!

omg Lisa - that picture is great!! She must make you laugh and smile all the time.

Julie - I hope you're not getting a cold. I can't imagine that would be any fun at all after the surgery. I love that pic you put on FB of Abbie snuggling up with you.

DH left for work at 6:30, so I got up at 6 to say good-bye to him. I really think I could've slept a lot longer though. I stayed up later than usual watching The Sound of Music. I can't believe I'd never seen that before.

DH bought me some gym clothes from Sports Authority but they don't fit right, so I'm taking them back today and hopefully can find something I like. I need running shoes, so if nothing else, I should be able to find those.

My MIL gave us a card with a Trader Joe's $100 gift card in it the other night. After she left and I opened the card, I realized that the actual gift card wasn't in there. It had the holder but that was all. I let her know and she looked everywhere but couldn't find it either. She called Trader Joes and gave them the # off the receipt and they said it hadn't been used, so they cancelled it and told her to come in and pick up a new card. Whew!!

I hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year's Eve. I'll be snuggled up with the dogs and a good bottle of wine Big Smile

    Goodbye and goodriddance 2010!

I couldn't have said it any better!!!  This year has been the worse one i've EVER had!!!  I can't begin to count the times I just wanted to give up!!!

Well, I've been stuffing my face the past couple days!!!  I do it everyyear cause I always start a new diet for new years!  I'm excited to start things tomorrow!  My knee is feeling better so I might actually be able to do some hiking this weekend!!! YAY  I had a dream I was skydiving so now that's all I wanna do!!!  Too bad it is too cold though!  :(

Have a great one everyone!  Bugsy...be a good boy today!

    • Gold Top Dog

Johnny, you come help the boy get the truck running and I'll feed you when you're ready to eat.

Breaking a trail through the snow is hard darned work!!  Did three abbreiviated walks today...DH joined me for the last one....it was hilarious!  We were coming back from the second walk and could see him in the yard, so I sent the boys ahead.....they wouldn't go.  They went into the yard (I was still in the field across the little stream) but they would NOT leave me even when I told them to go.  Nope, they were taught to stay close when they are off lead and by golly that's exactly what they did.  Good boys!

Just in case any of you hear on the news about the tornado in NW Ark, we are safe.  Just got our electric back.  It is a nasty fast storm headed east.  The tornado was about 8-10 miles west of us.  Lots of damage, some deaths, some injuries.  We are waiting to see if there is anything we can do to help but they are asking everyone to stay out of the area until they get through all the damage.

Will try to catch up later.  Be safe all.

ETA: Thanks Heather, Sammy and Harry the storm calming pills helped Hot this morning.

    • Gold Top Dog

I did hear about the tornado...and was concerned for you.  Thanks for checking in...glad you are safe.

Can you share what "storm calming pills" helped?
